My main purpose in buying this was to use it to shampoo my carpets and so far I am well pleased with it on that basis.

I have tried it as an ordinary vacuum cleaner and although it works very effectively in that mode I find the process of switching from one use to the other pretty cumbersome and clunky. Having to put bags in and then take them out and attach and detach water hoses is all a bit of a pain and I will stick with my Henry for the normal vacuuming and keep the Vax just for shampooing.

Good product that has been used in both wet and dry applications. Would advise others to purchase this product.

very good purchase, hubby tried it on the same day, and he thinks its brilliant for the money, we had huge stain on carpet and its gone now just like that and was trying to wash it off with vanish and other stuff

We are very pleased with the multivax.We have had various vax machines for years and as always we have been satisfied with them.We currently own four machines l upright and l multi for in the house l multi in my aviary for cleaning out my birds and the other in the garage for car cleaning etc.Never regretted any buying any of them.

Purchased a similar model some years. Gave this to my daughter and bought new machine. Seems to be identical and does what it says on the tin. Effective and efficient machine.

I found the Multivax a good product to use and it certainly cleaned the dirt from my carpet when used as a carpet washer. I did find that the instruction book was a little sparse on info about using the Vax as a carpet washer. For instance there is no guidance as to how fast or slow one should push the cleaning head over the carpet being cleaned, too fast the carpet doesn't have enough cleaning fluid on it or too slow and the carpet gets too wet and takes longer to dry. Luckily I had watched some clips on my computer about washimg carpets and had some idea of the speed to go to do the job right. I think the book should give a lot more advice on this point to stop any disappointment by customers. Apart from this point I am very pleased with the Vax and would recommend it.

The Vax machine is excellentand a great improvement on the original.
I would give it 10/10 if it was possible to buy the original carpet squeegy tool.It was perspex and about 8 inches wide. I have not found anything that comes close to the suction ability on carpets of this tool.Carpets were almost dry after using it.

Love my Vax 6131T 3 in 1 Multivax. Great suction and cleans carpets really well. Far better and cheaper to buy than my old leading brand carpet cleaner. Its a shame the filters cannot be washed and re used and that it needs disposable bags but that really is a minor detail.

The first job tackled was cleaning my mother's carpet. She had had a very bad nosebleed the week before and despite trying to get up the dried blood found it almost impossible. I used my new Vax and managed to get rid of the vast majority of the bloodstains first time. Brilliant!

I have hoovered and wash my carpets with the Multivax and I'm quite pleased with the result. The instructions were easy to follow and in using the vax. Was quite amazed how my carpet came up very clean and smelling fresher with the cleaning fluid supplied.

Carpets came up very clean in most areas apart from one area of heavy usage which will require a second clean.
Worked better than the 20 year old Vax it replaced.

This model has lots of improvements but some concerns. Foot operated valve for vax is robust and easy to use. Suction power as always is excellent. The quality control of the rubber seal assembly on the vax part was not good, it was misaligned and wouldnt assemble or seal. I had to reposition it to make it work. The two main clips on the outside of the vax dont feel very robust but time will tell how they last. The vax did an excellent job cleaning the carpets with less effort than the older model.

Great product have used it straight away and got excellent results.
Also ordered latest cleaning fluid which was delivered efficently and
quickly.

Not used the carpet cleaner yet, only the carpet wash which did the job very well and left the carpets fairly dry.
Its simplicity of use makes it a winner together with the modest amount of cleaning fluid required.
Buying one for my son as a Christmas present.

My old 3 in 1 non-Vax machine died this year after many years of faithful service and so I spent time reviwing what others had puchased and decided to "Go-Vax". I purchased a 6131T Multivax and have cleaned the house from end to end, so much so that my wife has offerd me the position of Housekeeper (unpaid) should I fall on hard times.

The 6131T is an excellent machine and you will benefit by giving the carpets a good vacumm first and certainly after cleaning. The Cleaner has a long suction hose that is very pliable and long mains cable and these really help. The solution provided is highly effective and the carpets are seriously brighter. The solution dispensed is adequate without overwetting the carpets and so rooms can be back to normal very quickly.

Tip of the Day: Suck cold water through the hose and machine when finished for the day and leave the Vax apart for 24 hours to dry before storing.

Nice compact machine, easy to follow instructions and easy to use. I shall use it mainly for shampooing carpets which it does very efficiently. Found that with its powerful suction and good spraying action, that all stains disappeared after some prespotting and perhaps going over twice, especially on a double room cream carpet that gets a lot of action from one end being a dining room and toing and froing from our long haired and sometimes moulting cat! Very pleased with final results and carpet looks very fresh again.Also supplied with a handy upholstery tool which will be handy for small areas as well as valeting the car.
Havent as yet used it for dry cleaning but can see it will be very powerful and it comes with all attachments. Other reason for buying a shampooer was to use in our caravan.

I Have previously had a Vax of the same type, which lasted many years, before I dropped it down the stairs, breaking the housing and knocking a caster off the bottom. (The motor still worked!)
With this previous history I bought a new one because of the price and because I knew it would be cope with picking-up any small bits of rubbish, not only in the house, but in my garage workshop with out suffering damage. The motor and suction is strong and this is what I need. I am not disappointed, it is sturdy and works well

This product replaces the Vax wet & dry vacuum I've had for over 20 years. The motor finally burnt out but it never needed a repair in all that time. This product works very well. The family all have long hair and we have cats; we all shed so the carpets need a powerful cleaner. Vax really does the job; picks up everything and makes my life so much easier. When the carpets are cleaned I can see a difference. It is easy to use and meets my needs. In fact Vax has always exceeded my expectations. A great product; I can't imagine life without a Multivax.

Primarily used as a washer and the performance is terrific.

However storage is a problem and if the "handle" could be designed to fit within the "dirty water" tank along with the hoses this would be flawless.

Great vacuum cleaner and the carpet cleaning is unbelievable, just one draw back needs to come with more clips for the water pipe.

Great range of tools, much better than our previous model. Could have done with more clips to hold the shampoo pipe to the vacuum tube as it can get a little tangled. Luckily, my old model is still used only for vacuuming up garden leaves etc, and I took some clips from that.
Suction is excellent and it is a good job that the slider on the vacuum tbe grip is there, otherwise I would struggle with shampooing mats and the like.

This is second Vax we have owned, the previous one lasted over 20 years, we cant remember it's exact age we'd had it so long!! It was so versatile and powerful we simply had to replace it with the same. We didn't think it could be made any better but this latest model is excellent we cannot fault it and it is excellent value for money.

I had an earlier VAX for 15 years, which is still going strong. I gave that one to my son and bought myself a new 6131T.

Overall I am very pleased with the VAX wet cleaners and the VAX cleaning fluids; nothing else I have tried seems to give carpets such a thorough clean. They have certainly saved me several hundreds of pounds, when I helped clean carpets in my son's and daughter's student-let houses over the years and was able to get back the entire deposits.

The new VAX model is faster, because it pumps the cleaning fluid, rather than just relying on suction, so it is quicker, but makes you work harder to avoid using more detergent solution. It sucks up almost all of the fluid from most carpet types, which is good because they are then usually completely dry by the next day.

The machine is rather noisy (I wear hearing protectors when using it and suggest that everyone does if working near the machine in a confined space). If your carpet has years of ingrained dirt you really need to use the small head and work on the relly grimey bits on your knees to get out all of the dirt.

In summary, I know of nothing that beats it, but be prepared to put in some effort to achieve a first class result!

The VAX 6131T was easy to assemble once it was taken out of the box. The cleaner in the dry mode is very powerful for 1300 watts compared with my last cleaner that was 1800 watts. The cleaner picked up dog hairs quickly compared with my last Hoover. One of the benefits compared to my last Hoover or cleaner it lighter and able to be moved all over the house. My carpets are cleaner and even small particles the cleaner collected in the bag.

On the carpet wash mode the cleaner does clean carpets, and even moved oil from a carpet in the shed that I going to bin at my local tip. The VAX does clean carpets very well and does move ground in dirt to bring the carpets like new. Another benefit is cleaning a blocked sink the VAX made easy work of taking the water from the sink.
The problem is taking the tubes a part when stick but using some oil they made it easy to take the tools off the pipe especially for older people.
To improve the model I believe a cloth bag should be included instead of the paper bag so it benefits the environment.

Obviously last year's model but classic shape and colour. Well made and robust. Not too many instructions but mostly intuitive for a practical person. Bit of a faf getting the carpet cleaning mode set up but once you have it going it is hard to stop. Good vacuum cleaner and great carpet cleaner.Great value for money. Hope the spares are too. Well done. Happy customer.

Very good suction. A good selection of nozzles, however there is knowwhere to store them?

Turned out better than expected,a few things could do with being redesigned,for instance the collar and rocker switch should really be one thumb button on the top handle,also the combination floor head doesn't seem to create enough vacuum,i use one off another cleaner that i made fit and this works perfectly.All in all for the price and size this is brilliant.

my first vax 3in1 i had it for 30 years then it died last month. my new 6131t is great, it cleans the carpets and drys a lot faster. just hope this one lasts 30 years love it

Rather larger than I thought, difficult to vaccum rugs due to strong suction, not that that is a bad thing, I havent had the opportunity to test the carpet washing facilites. I am sure it is a great machine but I am a little frustrated when I vaccum my rugs.

I think the Vax was very good value compared to other cleaners. It works well on wooden floors and carpeted areas....we have pets!! ...so that is very important. Also good on stairs. This is the second Vax we have purchased (last one lasted for over 5 years of hard use) and we noticed that the cable is longer and i think the suction is stronger. All in all we are very pleased with it and I think excellent value at the price. Ordered on line and it was delivered as promised within a couple of days. Well done!!!

Value for money machine, it could be better with
1. higher solution pressure,
2.valve for locking solution flow could be also on top handel
3. as it's device dedicated for home users there should be some cord storing system not necessarily automatic
5.cheaper carpet solution:-) for registered users
but at this moment that best multi machine for up to 100

This machine is the second Vax I've owned. The first was some 20 years ago and it was unfortunately stolen. At that time I bought the turbo head as well, but this one definately does not need it. For a 1300w machine it is so powerful I end up with arm muscles like Arnie after just doing the bedrooms. Our carpets are cream and very plush pile yet it picks up without fault and the suction is unbelieveable. As for washing, which is the main reason I bought it, I tried a friends bissell upright carpet cleaner and it was useless. The wheels on it left marks on the carpet that then needed re-cleaning. The vax on the other hand was brilliant. It got out some stubborn stains and their was enough water in one tank to do two bedrooms which are very large double rooms. As some of the stains are makeup and worn in I will have to do a few times over but I can recommend this to everyone. I read somewhere about the pipe connections being loose. They are not loose on mine at all, in fact quite the opposite. Well done Vax.

i ordered this product because i had a vax rapid spring carpet cleaner and have nothing but trouble with it the water valve keeps leaking i have had a new water tank and it still leaks..... the vax 3 in 1 6131t is fantastic the best vax i have ever used and brought to date.

After using other well known brands and finding that they fail to work after a spell and can be very complicated i found the vax simple to use and very effective cleaning the carpet well and sucking the water out of the carpet to a high standard

Purchased as a replacement to a 'getting old, but still working' VAX 2000, The company is one of the very few who have actually improved their product rather than tried to save on manufacturing cost. Longer hose and flex and a solid build all round.

I have only used my Vax once so far, and i was very impressed and surprised at the amount of dirt it removed from my lounge carpet, which, in all honesty did not look like it needed cleaning. Excellent value for money.

Very pleased with this simple effective machine which I have now owned for a couple of months. I was impressed with the cleaning efficiency and ease of use. 3.5ltrs out of the 4ltrs of dirty solution was sucked back up, explains why the carpets dried so quickly and looked so clean. Comments to other reviewers:- I like the benefit of the long mains cord, it can be efficiently wound back on the handle by spinning the cylinder on its own castors. The lack of a solution trigger did not cause any real inconvenience as flow can easily be stopped by pump power button on top of the machine, or the orange flow restriction sliders on both the main and upholstery heads....less things to go wrong. I found firm pressure when connecting the components resolved the problem of parts separating and keeps things simple. As a vacuum cleaner it out performs my upright cleaner getting to places the upright could not reach enabling me to save considerable cleaning time. Well done Vax! I can recommend this machine, It would be nice if there was an accessory case available to keep all the bits tidy.

Bought this for my daughter in 1987 and has only recently gone to the vacuum cleaner retirement home. Bought this new model and it is already proving an excellent successor. Only comment is instead of push fit tubes,( when used for cleaning or vacuum), maybe they could have a click together design? The suction is so good that the tubes have a tendency to separate. This would then rival my Miele for a lot less money and with far more uses.

Great suction easy to use great product

This is the third Vax we've had and we are very pleased with this latest model (6131T). There is only one problem which wasn't present on earlier models. . . the vacuum head leaves very clear 'wheel marks' on the carpet after you've vacuumed. I can't see the point of the wheels. Everything worked fine as it was!

Excellent machine but don't like the new vacuuming head - does not pick up as well on hard floor as the old one from the vax 2000.

Good powerful machine, good suction, robust, VFM, cleans carpets well. O<b></b>nly annoying feature would benefit from a better lead storage system e.g. spring loaded etc.

When opening the Vax I could see that it was very different to the previous one I had purchased but with the same water flow connection. I liked the new style and on useing it is a good deal better on suction and water flow. The connection was the problem on the first machine the guarantee running out just on the two years and as the repair would have been the cost of buying a new one this was the better option.

I am pleased so far but hope that the connection on the new model last longer than the previous. Could it have been a design fault only time will tell.

This cleaner was such an improvement on the older model. It was easier to use and required less effort, and provided excellent results.The carpets were bright,clean and fresh afterwards.

I used this appliance for the 1st time last weekend,initial set up was quick and easy and a quick vacume of the carpet to be done was carried out without any problems.I then changed it over to wet/carpet clean set up and found it quick and hassel free.
Cleaning of the carpet again was an easy process with great results leaving it clean and mark free.
The only criticism i have is about the wet carpet cleaning head as half way through cleaning the right wheel fell off,it clipped back on but came of again 2 more times during the carpet clean.
I would have rated it 5 if this had not occured.

The Vax has cleaned up my carpets lovely,i find that once you have fixed it all up to do the cleaning of the carpets its as easy as anything.I was very let down though regarding the suction when using it for hoovering,i imagined it to be more powerful than it is.

Positive:

- Great vacuuming ( dry). Easy to use and very powerful compared to my Dyson.
- Good wet carpet cleaning. Very quick setup and easy to use. Have left my carpet spoteless with the concentrated AAA solution.

Negative:

-Have to wait a long time for the machine to dry when switching from wet washing to dry vacuuming.

the hoover is great fantastic suction.washed carpets and was very impressed how clean they come up.would recommend to anyone thinking about buying a vax 2 in 1

Very good as a cleaner and hoover very easy to use the instuctions are very clear and easy to follow I have nine dogs and I use my cleaner every day and regularly clean my carpets and I need an efficent and easy to use cleaner and the Mulivax is it.

The Vax arrived promptly and I am really pleased with the product. My carpets hadn't been cleaned in 6 years and they came up a treat. I got this Vax in the sale and saved quite a bit. All the other companies I looked at on line were more expensive for the same product and also wanted to charge for delivery. I thought I would go "straight to the horses mouth" and your company had free delivery so the rest is history. Easy to use and does what it says, over the moon with the product!

A really good machine. I was really impressed by the machine and the results that is has so far delivered. It is not too noisey and is really powerful, proving to be excellent at cleaning dirty furniture and carpet. The machine is also really easy to clean and set up, providing that the instructions are carefully followed. A recommended purchase.

This is a fantastic Multicleaner which is very easy to use and does a really great job in cleaning carpets and rugs...The water oasis to hold the clean water for refilling is easily taken out to fill under the water tap or alternatively filling up with a container. You really do see the dirty water coming from carpets or rugs which you thought were otherwise almost clean. The soloution is say to apply as I bought the 3 pack of 1.5 litre containers of cleaner which adds a nice floral smell to freshen up carpets and rugs...What I thought was amazing is how quickly the carpet and rugs dry out (used in summer months) so you don't have to worry about anyone's feet soling the carpet in particular whilst it's drying. A truely remarkable product which I would highly recommend. I use it for a cleaner only as I have a separate vax hoover for doing that job...well done VAX

great machine, amazing suction when just using the vacumnm, almost lifts the carpet pile from the floor, i have used it to shampoo my carpets and was so impressed with how much dirt it took out, i did it twice and the carpets look like new again.
Also used the upholstery tools to clean a 3 seater sofa pls armchair and cushions, and the finish was remarkable.
Best of all though, was i used it on my car to clean the carpets and general everyday mess that builds up, and was so impressed with the suction, it was like stepping in a new car again.
Above all else its the best multi function machine i have used, my only critism is the cost of the vax carpet care bottles of shampoo, bit too pricey.
Fantastic easy to use website, for all spares and replacement parts and other extras for my machine, have recommended to a friend already and they are thrilled with theirs now. Well done vax!!!!

Bought to replace a well used previous model of this vax that I have had a very long time and as this model was in the sale at a local store at the time mine needed replacing I thought why change a winning formula.Great for vacuuming with its powerful suction and excellent for cleaning carpets.Never ceases to amaze me the colour of the dirty water in the tank after cleaning carpet that I thought were not that dirty.Would recommend.

Fantastic suction. Excellent cleaning power both as a vacuum and as a carpet washer. leaves the carpets just damp to the touch. It is a little noisy however, but this is outweighed but it wonderfully long cable. I can clean full house (3 bdrm) from top to bottom leaving it plugged in to just one socket.

Having donated my 15 year old 3 in 1 vax to my husband's building business, I wanted an exact replacement. This is better! The suction is so much more powerful. It was cheaper than my first buy aswell.

Absolutely Brilliant.I borrowed one of these back in the 80's and it was good then. It is today the same, easy to use, fantastic results. Couldn't fault it.

I bought the original vax machine back in the early eighties and thought it was good then,but my last carpet cleaner(which was another make) broke the other day, so I thought I'd give the vax another go, Needless to say I wasn't dissapointed!!It does exactly what it sais!!!The carpets are now spotless and look like new. I am really pleased with the results and would just like to say I made a good decision going back to the vax!!Thank's!Money well spent!!!

The vax 6131t is a brill machine, its very powerful and cleans the car carpets with ease, the little wash tool in the box its brill for small tight places, and its very well built lots of tools and bits with it, very good on house carpets to and cleans them very well dry or washing, thanks vax for a brill hoover

Great product. Cleraned my lounge, hall and stairs carpets like new. Good value for money. I would have no hesitation in recommending this product. Slightly fiddly in assembling the pipework but just follow the instructions and there will not be any problems

Vax vacuum cleaner is great at dry cleaning and wet cleaning, I was amazed how much dirt it got out of the living room carpet. Storage could be a problem if you don't have a storage cupboard.

Power and cleaning excellent. Lovely and Robust. Electricl lead is nice and long not like a lot of other cleaners, although does tend to get tangled up even though I use the top of the machine to loop the lead around. Only negative is that it requires bags!

I previously had the older model Multivax for about 15 or more years and used it as my main cleaner but after a lot of hard work it gave up the ghost and I replaced it with an upright Vax. I decided to get a new Multivax as I needed to shampoo my stair carpet which was suffering from the traffic of six cats and a dog with very large muddy paws. On Friday I decided to wash the stair carpet and got to work. It came up very nicely as the shampooing removed all the dirty marks and freshened up the pile on the carpet, unfortunately it can't do anything about the wear and tear caused by the aforementioned animals. The suction when sucking up the water and carpet shampoo was very good and I was quite impressed with how dry the carpet was left when I had finished. The only problem I had with the shampooing was that I had to use the upholstery tool to wash the stairs as the floor head is just too big to use on the stairs, perhaps a mid-size tool would be a good idea. All in all I am very pleased with it and looking forward to any years of use - my husband likes it as he finds it the best for vacuuming the car and even the garage.

Very good machine. Could do with 2 speeds on the pump. Sometimes the amount of water needs to be less on some carpets.

Great machine, only criticism is the plasctic liquid tube which wraps around the hose this is a cumbersome and tacky design and could be better thought out.

Got the multivax as my old hover went up in smoke. I was looking at normal vacuums, and then wondered how much a carpet cleaner would cost. I stumbled across this one. As it was a vacuum and a cleaner in one and price was extremelly reasonable. I looked at it.
When I got it I used it that day as the floor had not been vacuumed for at least a week.Fantastic even got the dog hairs up, and it doesnt have the pet hair attactment with it.The next day I tried the cleaner, couldnt believe the muck it was picking up. My carpet looks like new.I would recommed this to anybody and everybody.Even after nearly two weeks I still have the same bag in the cleaner, even with 5 kids and a dog.My husband did say it looked completed to change from vacuum to cleaner, but once you have done a few times it is very simple. It is a bit bulky but when you relised the wonderful cleaning power that all goes away.Still fits in the cupboard. Fantastic Vacuum and cleaner 5 Stars.

This is my second Multivax - the other is 15 years old and still going strong. My cleaner was asked if she would like me to purchase a different type as she has used many makes in her job, but the answer was a definite no. The new machine is lighter, has amazing suction and it is so convenient to be able to use it for shampooing rugs and sucking up the odd disaster when the grandchildren arrive. It is a real money saver - never any need to hire a carpet washing machine and the results are always first class.

No problems to report ,the set up was easy ,and off we went washing our rugs.We were suprised at how dry the rugs were after cleaning.Upon cleaning one not apparently dirty rug ,we were horrified at the amount of dirt that came out. So all in all a top item ,keep up the good work Vax.

Just had the 3in1 for a couple of weeks and have used it all. Used the brush head for cleaning the wooden blinds, carpet cleaner - done all the carpets in the house, and the usual cleaner. Great to have such a versatile cleaner in the house! Would recommend to friends.

This vacuum is fantastic, I'am more than pleased with it, it gets all the bits up, off the carpets, which 2 Old English Sheep Dogs bring in to the house. My wife has also cleaned a small carpet, using the Multivax and she is pleased with the out come of that. Also It is much better than the dyson that it replaces.

Love the machine as much as my old machine, made my cream carpet look new, when washed.

Have owned this type of vax before and went back to a different cleaner. Never felt satisfied with the others so glad to go back to Vax. Powerful enough for pet hairs and cleans really well. Tried it on the car too. Not used it as a wet cleaner yet.

Having used other carpet cleaners and they have not done what they said they could do, The multivax does exactly what it says on the box ..!!! IT CLEANS .... and very well too . Its easy to put together and cleans stubborn stains really well , worth every penny .

Reasonable suction but very noisy carpet wash is fair but the metal pipes have a habit of coming apart

Few weeks gone since I've bought my vax 6131. What can I say. I'm happy. It's hovering very well. I like how it washing my carpet. I'm, really satisfy. I like design of it, looks like transformer. It takes few minutes to transform it from dry to wet cleaning. After first wet cleaning the water was black! It's little bit noise. Want to say about customer service. It is excellent. I've bought my vax trough www.vax.co.uk web site. It comes with crack on one part. I've give a call to costumer service and after few days new part was in my house. Thank you! You are professionals!

I received a brand new VAX machine recently after my former "rogue" machine had been unsuccessfully "repaired" several times. I have been a great fan of the VAX vacuum/carpet cleaner for many, many years because of its versatility and compactness. The problems mentioned above did not put me off. My new machine is splendid and does my jobs efficiently and effectively.
Additionally, your customer service department & complaints department were great when it was eventually time to call it a day on my other machine.
You will have my support and recommendations always.

The day my Multivax arrived I decided to test it by vacuuming the sitting room. Wow! the suction was amazing, the carpets had never looked better. Even though I am only 5ft tall (and 65) it was light and easy to use, so easy and quick because of the long lead, there was no stopping to keeping changing sockets, great. I ended up vacuuming the dining room study, kitchen, hallway and stairs,and it worked equally well on the wooden floors. I then did something I have never done before, I left a message on your website informing you how good I thought your product was. I can't wait to try shampooing my cream carpets. Great design, good quality and boy does it work.

Could your designers make a long thin tool that will clean under beds, behind radiators and reach celings for bringing down cobwebs etc, remembering to make it long enough for those in society who are vertically challenged?

I mentioned the fantastically long lead, however when you have finished using the Vax the lead needs somewhere to clip it to and wrap it round so it doesn't get in the way until you need to use it again.

I just keep asking myself why I didn't buy a Vax before?

I am generally very pleased. My upright cleaner was very hard for me to move about at 8 months pregnant and had a habit of falling over and hitting me on the head!.
I did find that the carpet cleaner wasnt great - certainly doesnt seem as amazing as some reviews. To get the water to suck back up I had to really push the head down into the carpet with my foot as it just glided over the top and didnt really pick up that much water. This really hurt my hip and in the end my husband came down and pushed it into the carpet whilst on his knees, this seemed to work quite well & a lot more water came out. I wouldnt like to attempt a whole carpet with it. Can you suggest anything I can try to improve this??
The vacuum part is great and the ease of use also, is great on my vinyl kitchen floor too. Just one thing - it would be nice if there was some way of wrapping & clipping the hose around the machine as this takes up a lot of space in the cupboard.

I had one before which I have given to my daughter and then bought my present one because I previously found it to work very well. Have now tried the new one with the same satisfaction. Excellent service when purchasing direct from VAX. Many thanks. B.R.Brown

Excellent product, simple to put together good sturdy build. You can see that it has cleaned as you can see the amount of dirty water in the tank. Very happy.

its a very good vacuum cleaner,very powerful.i have had a Vax like this,years ago,& it still is a very good cleaner.

This is the third Multivax I have bought over the last 20 years and each one has done a very good job, easy to assemble and use, great job at washing carpets, the only thing I find fault with is the Paper bags I much prefer the Cloth bags that they use to provide, as you could empty them far more often.

Does what it says on the tin, high powered vacum and excellent wet cleaner. + point, unexpectedly long mains lead. I quite like the heavy duty industial look, not everyones cup of tea.

Over the moon with it i got cream carpets 2 young boys (u can guess the mess) u can see it clean the dirt right up and the carpet is coming bk to life after 2 use's i see a massive difference glad i got it :=) takes a few mins to set up but easy to do, good long cord and with vax+ carpet cleaner it gets at stubbon stains so they work well as a team. only down side is the 4lt holding of clean water but aint a major problem just means u got to fill up more often and a chance to empty the dirty water but it hold's 8lt of dirty water anyway. It is loud but with noise come's great power YES! that is right great cleaning power. i found it great value for money.

Exellent,as hoover.carpet washer and upholstery cleaner.I have already recommended this product to my freinds.the only thing about this machine was,when cleaning upholstery the small hose carrying the water sometimes gets in the way and occasionally comes out allowing the water to spirt out,but this is was small price to pay for this excellent product.

It worked very well although the metal tubes do not fit tightly and frequently came apart causing me to stop cleaning.

Found it very easy to use, and very good at it's job.
Would like to see better storage facilities i.e. retractable power cord, tools storage.
Otherwise very pleased with my purchase.

Good machine - great suction power.. I would really like a powered head (i.e. with Brushes) for carpets - this would make for a market-leading product.
Having moved to the vax from my ageing Vorwerk which is in need of repair it's a hard act to follow!
The only other thought is the machine is large - great from an operational perspective but makes storage rather difficult.

Although it is less sophisticated-looking than my previous Vax model (Essentials VEC-04) so far I am delighted with the Multivax. It has excellent suction, moves very easily, and I really like the extra long lead - I can vacuum a whole floor of my house from just one power point. The long hose and various tools make it really easy to get into all those hard to reach corners.

I haven't yet had a chance to test the carpet-washing function, but based on its vacuuming abilities alone, I'm giving it five stars!

My recommendations would be the machine is a fantastic bit of equipment, very reasonable priced. However I have experience 2 issues@

1) The 2 metal poles that connect, tend to easily come apart when using the machine. They regularly disconnect from the middle, or sometimes from the handle. (I have used all my strength to esure they are tightly connected, but they still come apart)

2) When I tried to switch the head from wet to dry, my wife found it impossible to dislodge the 'wet' head, from the metal pole. Even someone like myself, who I would say is quite strong, I found it very difficult to dislodge the wet head from the pole. Maybe a clicking locking device may be the answer.

Love this machine - as a hoover it's brilliant. Haven't used it yet to shampoo carpets but had one of these years ago and that was great so am sure this will be even better. Would highly recommend it - my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner.

larger than i thought and a bit of a problem to store with all its accessories.However excellent vacing qualities but an awkward angle with the brush. Impressed with the wash facility and quite easy to use.

Excellent cleaner - especially effective in carpet cleaning because the cleaning fluid is pumped through to the head and then returned due to vacuum. This means that it will also work well cleaning carpets when going up stairs. Large capacity cleaning!

What an improvement on my previous Vax and that one was great! Its one of the best multi purpose machines I have ever had, its GREAT!!

The multivax is a simple but effective tool. It is easy to use and gives brilliant results. It combines power and convenience to do the job required. My only minor niggle is that the extension pipes do come apart quite easily.

Exceptional performance at the price point when used properly. Easy enough to use and clean. No idea on longevity as this is a recent purchase. Thoroughly recommended so far!

Decided to get this after the dog was poorly and we had borrowed someone elses shampooer. Used it as a vacuum first and were chuffed to bits with its performance - much, much better than my 1800W cylinder - 3 people with long hair in this house and a dog and it copes great! Got to use it as a shampooer after my daughter was sick on the fairly new carpet - couldn't tell anything had happened:) The next plan is the sofas. Couldn't recommend a better multicleaner. My mum thinks it's fantastic as well.

Bought the orginal Vax about 25 years ago, which is still going, but the plastic parts are breaking away now. In all that time it has not failed once.

Having put down a new carpet and walked dust from a building project through the house, I bought this to clean the carpet. It is easy to use and pulled out a large amount of dirt and dust leaving the carpet fresh and clean again.

Very pleased with this hoover.The improvements are good much longer electric cable and the hose is also a lot longer.Good buy,if you want a good all round hoover and carpet cleaner

The Machine is doing all that I ask of it, The Pile of my carpets have became un-matted, something that My excellent Dyson high-suction vacuum cleaner is unable to achieve. The only down-side is with fine sand from Westward Ho! beach. This fine sand from the beach tends to become lodged in the 'pile' of my Carpets; The Vax picks up half a cup full of fine sand in the dirty water tank each time I use the VAX, most rinses out of the tank quite well via either of the two cap openings. but about half-a-teaspoon full remains in crevices that I cant remove no-matter how I tilt or turn the tank, this sand remains lodged close to the filter housing. However the fact that sharp grit (sand) is no longer lodged in the pile of my carpets shows that the purchase of the Vax was an excellent choice.

my multivax is ace i have to admit i have tried the upright vax but i much prefer the 3-1 multivax it leafs the carpet dryer

I have only used this machine for cleaning a six year old beige carpet that was quite grubby in places. I am very pleased with the results, it has made a vast improvement.

I LIKE IT. I have tried this machine on some of our carpets and you do not realise how dirty your carpets are until you look at the water in the tank. The Vax 3 in 1 is a little heavy but it does a wonderful job. Glad I bought it.

fantastic as a vacume even better as a carpet cleaner. It gets most of the water up and leaves the carpet reasonably dry.

This is the second Vax 3-in-1 I have owned. The first one gave excellent service for approximately fifteen years, without any problems.

It has a very good suction for vacuuming carpets and hard floors, but we use it mainly for shampooing the carpets, it is also useful for picking up spills which it does very quickly.

On the old Vax the head you used for carpet shampooing was a larger version of the upholstery tool; on the new Vax, this has been completely redesigned and is now not only much more efficient, but also a lot easier to use.

These machines are a good all rounder - excellent for DIY use and great for cleaning the car because of its good suction. They clean carpets better now which may also be due to the new - expensive -shampoo. I believe some people clean water out of their drain traps to make it easier to remove debris, although I have not tried this.

On the plus side - it is a good all rounder with good suction and inexpensive to buy.

The negatives - the control for turning off the shampoo is fiddly to use, I find it easier to just turn off the pump.

Shampoo and defoamer are expensive

Very pleased with vacuum, long power lead, great suction, large waste bag and a long flexible suction tube which is perfect for stairs. Slight negatives, tools keep falling from semi circular recesses in base, chrome suction tubes come apart when using and some form of cable caddy would have been very useful.

it is a very usefull machine,easy to use and i could not go back to any other machine. its very powerfull and picks up anything and when you hoover the car you can get into every crevise you can find within the car. as for the carpet cleaner part, not used yet as we have wooden floors but it seems stait forward to use it. best hoover i have ever bought by none.

I like my vax very much, good suction,and gets under furniture easily without having to change tools, which is time saving.I find it a little more difficult to store than my old upright (the long hose keeps falling out the cupboard when I open it!)but overall I believe it does a better job than the upright cleaner. I did have to purchase a turbo brush, as the supplied suction one was hard work to use on carpets,when vacuuming.I also purchased 2 x cloth bags so I didnt have to keep buying paper ones,good idea these cloth bags as I can wash them in the washing machine when they get too dirty ! The carpet wash system was very good, but left carpets wetter than my vax upright carpet washer (motor went on that so, that is why I purchased this all in one cleaner)but I am very pleased with it, oh and it also is much easier to do stairs because of the long hose.
My dog didnt like it very much, kept chasing it for a while, thought it was a new game, I tried to vacuum him with it, that sorted the chasing out and now he gets out of the way !

Very efficient and easy to use. Carpets and rugs come up like new, stubborn marks needed two applications, but well worth it.

This is my third 3-in-3 Vax.I am impressed by the new brush and the strength of the suction. Now I know I was right to opt for another one!

The Vax is a very good machine. I washed all the carpets in the house and the result was very good. It has very powerful suction so is ideal for vacuuming. The long cord and nozzle are a great advantage. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it.

I have had my Vax a few weeks now and have used it both to vacuum and wash the carpets. The suction is good, much better than my bagless vacuum, and the dust bags are big enough to hold 2/3 weeks of dust from an averaged size home. It is fairly easy to set up for washing, I did check out the instructions on the website and found them clear and helpful.

The only slightly negative points I have are....
It's rather noisy, and not that easy to clean out after washing carpets. Maybe some kind of leakproof disposable bag similar to the dust bag would be useful?

I would definately recommend Vax to friends and family, my Mother had her Vax for years!

A great machine! Very powerful suction wet or dry. Easy to change from wet to dry use. Cleaning function proving itself each week. I use it mainly do to car interiors yet it has handled everything I've thrown at it... filthy ground in dirt in mats and boots are no problem.

Having had a Vax cleaner of this type in the past, I got what I expected, a powerful machine, which glides across my floors both laminate and carpet with little or no effort. Great to have the onboard tools. I would have liked a tube that kinks less and perhaps a turbo brush as standard, but other than that I'm looking forward to many years of loyal service, just like I had from the last one.

The suction is great and removes most dirt and pet hair. Actually bought the VAX to clean carpets in our caravan, but at yet not used it for that.

It is i deal for shampooing carpets and brings them up really clean

I have only used this machine once fo vacuuming, it is a powerful cleaner, just what I needed.

No problem with the majority of Multivax, although disappointed with lack of variable control over the suction power, as was available with the 5110, the tab in the top of the hose handle is not really satisfactory.

I am pleased with the suction power as it made light work of my car, it is so easy to use and the wash is perfect results, couldnt ask for any better.

10/10 best hoover and cleaner I have ever used, its easy to use, the suction picks up everything and more, wished I had bought this sooner. It cleans stains that other cleaners have trouble with, well worth the money.

Bought the 6131T Vax found it to be a good hoover. Cleaned my hall and found thst it cleaned better than I thought, easy to change over as well. So far very impressed.

It's a great tool to have if you have pets.

i love the 3in 1 vax cleaner its got up most the dirt on my carpet need to go over again ( but it was really dirty) the only thing thats annoying is having to keep filling it up but then again its got alot better capacity then most cleaners

So far the Vax has performed the tasks I wanted it to in an exemplary fashion. I have unblocked the drain from the washing machine - it has been a problem for ages and a good clear-out was just what it needed. I have cleaned the living/dining room carpet and the results were an improvement on those achieved by a 'professional' carpet man! I have had a go at our stair carpet and was not quite so thrilled, but the amount of soiled water suggests that it lifted most of the dirt. The carpet is quite old now, so I guess the results in the other room raised expectations to an unrealistic level. All in all I am very pleased with the Vax. We also own a Dyson and are happy with that, though it can't do any wet work.

The suction is great the cleaner is good. I wanted a cleaner that was easy to use and not that difficult to manoeuvre and that's what I got. So thank you.

I have found it to be very good as both a standard cleaner and carpet cleaner. It is small enough to use around the house without having to move furnture around to much. It would be nice to have a larger clean water tank, as i seem to be filling it up a lot. the lead is of a very good length and i don't have to unplug all the time as i did with my previous cleaner.

This is our second machine of this type & its a very robust machine. It suits our purpose for all types of jobs ~ in home, or car ~ this machine seems to relish the work & is built to last! Our first Vax machine was approx 10years old before it finally "bit the dust" ... ha ha. We used it not only for shampooing, but also for the odd spills, as well as using it as a back-up vacuum cleaner too! This new machine which we have only had a couple of weeks, has again performed as we expected, but we did notice a few new things:- the hose is longer (so even easier to reach places) & the suction also feels stronger too, which reduces the drying time. I shampooed my lounge carpet in the morning & by lunch-time, I had put all my furniture back in situ, as the carpet was dry!
I should also like to add further, that I trust VAX so completely for cleaning my carpets etc, last year I also purchased an up-right vacuum-cleaner ~ the VAX Mach 7. In my opinion, VAX is the best on the market!

great suction, lead is really long goes all round the downstairs without unplugging.pipe metal and really strong, and stretches all the way up the stairs. overall really impressed especially with the discount i received.

I am very please with the results so far. The suction is very strong,just as I wanted and the moveability is good too. I have yet to try the carpet cleaning slide of it but I have great hopes.
