I normally buy an upright hoover so this was a first for me, I am amazed how light it is, we live in a 3 storey house and its perfect for carrying up all of the stairs. Its a fab hoover, I love all the attachments, there are plenty for each of your needs. I have been really impressed with this hoover and would recommend it highly to others.

Good product - good suction although VAX is heavy (despite it being promoted as lightweight) once the metal tubing and gadgets are added. Although the metal tubing is more robus than plastic have to say. Aluminium may be a lighter option although more expensive? Good reach to top of stairs.
The accesssories can be glumsy at times so tend to use the smaller items for ease and mobility.

I think it is a fabulous machine, with easy to use attachments and a longer than average hose and flex for the stairs, excellent suction too. If i were to pick a fault it would be that its a little heavy to push and slightly noisy, but if you get the floor height adjuster right the heaviness goes away.
great value for money and the 6 year guarantee is wonderful

This is an excellent vacuum cleaner. It's as good as it's nearest competitor if not better! AND it was less expensive.

I am very impressed with this little machine, it is very powerfull and very manuverable, picks up pet hairs superbly, is light weight, and with the two extra long flexable hoses there is no where this cleaner cannot reach.
With the six year warranty this product speaks for itself.

Great little cleaner, has a much bigger "suck" than the 25yr-old Miele it replaces. The only comments I would make are that it is a bit wide for stairs (it won't stay on the treads, but the hose is just about long enough), and the little front castor wheel could, with advantage, be a little bigger; it sometimes gets caught up in loose rugs. Would recommend this cleaner to anyone.

I have been using this for quite a while now & really like it. It has a good selection of tools:- furniture, crevice, carpet, hard floor & tubo brush. The suction is very good. It is easy to empty. It even has a 6 year guarantee.

I love this hoover, it's much better than a dyson. It sucks up alot more. It's light weight which is perfect. It's so quiet as well (no more ear plugs). This is the first hoover I've had where the main hose is extra long compared to any other hoovers which is a bonus. My only gripe with this hoover is that the extra tools attached to the hose keep falling off when I'm cleaning, which is abit of pain. All in all well worth the money.

This is the best hoover I have EVER had, the reason I bought it was I suffer from Fibromyalgia, and my three year old Animal Dyson was just to heavy for me to get up the stairs. So when I saw this on QVC I knew I could send it back if I didn't like it. But I won't be doing that I love it, it is so light and pick's up very well, I have an old cat and and kitten so I use it daily.

I have always used an upright model before and haven't really liked cylinder models I have used previously. It is light, easy to use and has a long enough extension tube so you don't need to bend over to use it which I have found with other cylinder vacuums. I have wooden floors in my house and it's great to use on them. The hard floor tool glides over my floors, picking up everything and fits under tight spaces like the sofa and radiators. I have also used the upholstery tool on my chairs and it picks up all the crumbs from these hard to reach places. However after some use, I feel the suction is not as great as my previous vacuum cleaner, on my rugs. Emptying the cylinder is quick and easy.
It comes with a number of attachments for floors and upholstery, including an extra long hose to reach the top of the stairs, and the only problem I have found is where to store them all! The wind up power cable is great and it has a parking slot where the floor head you are using can be attached for carrying. However, after using the Mach Air for a couple of months the plastic attachment on the heads to go in to the parking slot has broken off. Therefore, I have been left with a dangling hose and nowhere to store it.
Overall though a great vacuum cleaner with the added bonus of a 6 year guarantee.

Purchased off QVC, great deal. Had a Dyson for over 10 years, never lived up to the hype. I have caged birds and I left the sunflower seed the birds throw out, while I waited for delivery. This was a test the Dyson never touched, the Vax did in one pass. The best machine I've ever used by miles. I don't normally do reviews but this time i had to, its that good.

Clearly modelled on the market leading Dyson range of vacuum cleaners this is an attractively styled device with dramatic futuristic looks. Unlike the Dyson it contains metal parts and this has added slightly to the weight but perhaps may make it more durable in use. I myself have a Dyson cleaner and have been interested to compare the Vax to it in use.
It arrived intricately packed into a large cardboard which I suggest you retain to keep the many accessories in as they cannot all be attached to the Vax for storage. The six accessories and various bits and pieces supplied made it seem a little daunting at first but in fact there was little assembly needed and the unit was up and running in no time.
In use this is at least as good as the Dyson equivalent. The Dyson is, as others have observed, slightly lighter but for a static unit this is not always a boon as the tube should extend fully before the body of the cleaner is dragged along and this the Dyson does not do. In fact neither the Vax not the Dyson are heavy to pick up or carry along in use. The suction produced by this unit is the best I have ever encountered. I was amazed to find that even though the carpet had only been vacuumed the previous day it was able to extract a large amount of dirt and revolting detritus from it. In passing I did notice that the dust holder did not seem all that large and I suspect will need frequent emptying. Also, unlike old fashioned machines made of opaque materials, in order to continue to look presentable the Vax will need to be cleaned and washed frequently. In order to clean the device no less than six filters and containers need to be removed, cleaned and (in some cases) rinsed. We may, I suspect, remember fondly the blithe three monthly emptying out of the old Hoover bag!
The many accessories and add ons connect easily and function well and all seem well made and with the sturdy build quality of the Vax itself. The extension tube adds greatly to the range of the unit and it is the first of it's type I have seen supplied as standard. This build quality is reflected in the six year warranty supplied with the machine. How realistic this industry leading warranty will be in practice remains to be seen. These days products have a far shorter shelf life and who knows if Vax will carry spares for this model in five and a half years from now.
To sum up. This is a very powerful but easy to use machine, well supplied with a host of add-ons but which may require frequent emptying and cleaning and which comes with a six year warranty.
