I am enjoying the lightness of the Vax and ease of emptying.

The re-set button when the machine goes red requiring re-setting to green is very small and not easy to get at. especially when you are a pensioner and bought the machine for its lightweight qualities.

If I say it was one of my best Christmas presents you may think it strange! It is superb! I also have one of your cylinder machines and they make a great double act.

It is very light,easy to empty, picks up the fur from 3 cats with no fuss and sits in a very small space when not in use. The hose clip is a great idea and also the ability to switch the brushes off.

The only thing is that you need to remember to hold it upright at some points of cleaning when using the hose but the fact is the points that you gain out weigh that one downside of it being light!

I'm the guy that does the vacuuming at our house,so I speak with authority! This gadget is perfect,does a remarkable job quietly (or reasonably so),is very light, easy to empty and instead of the job being a chore it is almost a pleasure (almost!). We got a very good price at B&Q, plus of course their wednesday over 60's 10% off.So all in all a great buy.I highly rate the vacuum cleaner and would definitely recommend it.

I am absolutely delighted with the VAX U91-MA-B Air. I did in fact purchase a Panasonic cleaner 30th May 2011 and was very disappointed with it - small pieces of fluff etc. would not be removed and I was having to use Sellotape to go over the carpet to remove them. I e-mailed that company and was not very satisfied with the reply so decided to delegate that cleaner to the garage and purchase a new one. I liked the light weight of the VAX in particular, and the ease of the two handles for carrying. After the first use - all pieces of fluff were removed and I was in seventh heaven!! My blue hall carpet took on a new life - the colour seemed to be much brighter - even friends have commented and one friend is probably going to replace her cleaner which she is also dissatisfied with, and buy a VAX. I have already had to empty the cylinder and all the grey matter which was in the cylinder showed me how inefficent my old cleaner had been. I rate your VAX very highly - my husband laughs as I seem to be more in rapture of a cleaner, than some of my Christmas gifts!!

fab light but powerful

This little vac should have been invented years ago...would have saved so many bad backs. Love it! Its lightweight even enough to do the stairs without using the hose, it's powerful..grips the carpet with all that suction and its easy to get into all those little nooks and crannies and the lead is long enough to reach around the house without having to unplug for each room. Also good on the tiled and wooden floors. Can't fault it. Brilliant vacuum.

At first sight I thought it rather flimsy, too light weight, however after using the vac I can honestly say..'Good things DO come in little packadges!
I have yet to find a cleaning job too big for it to handle.
Great little machine.

This is the best vac I have ever bought.Extremely light and having powerful suction making it very efficient.
The only major downside is the very short hose,easily remedied at the point of manufacture without much expense I would have thought but an extension is available as an accessory,
the suction being very powerful a sliding aperture would be a help to reduce this at times when using the hose.
A pet hair removing tool would have been a useful throw in but guess what?,available as an accessory!
Most of the above con's however are minor and generally speaking I found it to be a very good machine indeed.

This machine is very very efficient. I was suprized at actually how efficient. I had seen a good write up in The Good Housekeeping magazine, and I always think that is an excellent reference for quality and performance.
The guarantee is for six years so thats another plus. all in all an really good buy.

Good little machine, perfect for my wife who found her Hoover very heavy and cumbersome, the Vax picks up very well indeed, the hose is a little on the short side, so we are going to buy the extension hose to enable her to do the stairs without having to ballance the machine on them. The only criticism she has is that it has a small capacity holding tank which needs emptying frequently, but I think that that is because it picks up better than the Hoover, overall we are delighted with our purchase

I have found the Vax escellent. The weight of the machine has helped
me very much as I have back and arm problems. I would recommend this
machine. Also the fact that you can do wooden floors without the brushes turning is very good because in the past with other machines I have found that they can mark the floors when turning.

When my old cleaner packed in (The wheels fell off, literally) I wanted to replace the old one, with another bagless version.
Reading the various reviews for differant makes, I concluded that a Vax was the most likely to fit the bill.
The model I purchased U19-MA-B Air had a lot of possitive reviews and,although I have only used it a couple of times, it has lived up to expectation.

(A) Although very light (A bonus) it still feels quite robust.

(B) Power wise it far outdoes any cleaner I've had previously.

(C) Get's right up to the skirting and corners and, the length of 'lead' is on a par with what I'm used to.

(D) And it's as far as I'm concerned a bargain at the price when, you consider what you will pay for a bagless model from one or two other Manufacturers which, I 'doubt' are as good a product or package, and 6 years peace of mind cant be bad.

It is very practical and easy to use, especially when taking it apart, ie. emptying the dust chamber. Never had a better vacuum. The jamming system, cutting itself off until freed is a marvel. We had a dog visit the other day and it really cleaned the carpet afterward, no problem. It is very reassuring. Apart from the brush attachment doesn't seem to clip on and keeps falling off - or maybe it's just us?

the vax has been the most effective upright cleaner that my wife has ever used,the amount of dirt it fetched out of the carpets was unbelievable and its so light to use she is over the moon with it.

Love it, love it and love it! At last a Vacuum that is light, easy and dare I say enjoyable to use. Was sick of struggling with another heavy awkward upright (famous brand). Was putting off vacuuming until I really had to as was fed up exerting all my energy pushing and manoeuvering. My new Vax Mach Air is as light as a feather and a joy to use, equally as efficient with a 6 year guarantee. No brainer. Got my sister to try it and my sister-in-law and yes, they are ordering one each.

with regard to uprights - the vax is very light, easy to handle and has an extremely powerful suction. I would wish the flexible expansion pipe to be a tad longer - say 20% 'cos I've got an old hose with high ceilings, large hallways... What does surprise is the price variation from

this is a very good vacuum it is very light and easy to use the only thing that i was not happy with is the length of the cord with all the other vax machines i have had i could plug it in to a hall socket and it stretched to every room but with this one i have to plug it in in each room and at each end of the stairs.

What a fantastic product. My wife absolutely adores it. It is so powerful and yet not too noisy. It cleans the carpet wonderfully, even picking up dirt when we thought the carpet was clean! The cord could be a fraction longer (for us lazy people whe cannot be bothered to move to a different socket!!!) but this is not really a criticism. It is very easy to empty and light enough to be carried upstairs without a huge effort. It is easy to manouvre; our six and nine year old girls have both had a try!!!! I would recommend this vacuum to anyone.

A superb machine which left rugs looking like new! Hose clip snapped off day 2 and has been replaced. Brush did not locate on machine and has disappeared into the ether.
SO light however! Would buy again! Had 3 Dysons in past-Vaxx much better. Also have Pet Vax which is heavy but customer service/ guarantee so good bought again!

The household is very happy & impressed with the vacuum.

This model was chosen because of its weight, given the difficulties I have with my hands/wrists. I can carry this up the stairs with minimal effort. Emptying the bin is so easy, and fairly hygienic- no banging of the container to remove the stubborn dirt.

Like the self adjusting floor head, which means no bending. one push of the button means the brush is either on or off.

The hose doesn;t appear to be capable of stretching the entire stair height, and my teenage son carries the vacuum up each step, again because its so light.

It has a sturdy telescopic handle, with a very slim floor head- which is a realy bonus for getting under storage heaters and furniture.

Overall we are really pleased with our purchase, the price paid, the excellent 6yr added warranty giving peace of mind.

I have had Dysons and feel this is of better quality.Great suction and is very easy to guide along any surface. Only grievance would be the clip holding hose at bottom of machine sometimes comes loose.

Can,t believe how bad my old hoover was until I used the vax, FANTASTIC and because i can see the dust i want to empty it after each clean. i am hoping soon there won,t be so much dust and i actually enjoy doing the hoovering.

Great product. Very happy with it so far.

Negative points:

1- The nozzle function is not the most convenient to use as other upright vacuum cleaners I have used in the past.....would be nice to keep the lightness and compactness of the 'Air', but have instant nozzle functionality.

2- The kill switch for the brush bar is too close to the main on/off button so it's easy to hit the wrong button, which is rather annoying.
A better design would be to keep them close together but somehow make the brush bar switch a bit harder to press accidentally.

Otherwise a really great product....well done !

Very pleased with my new Vax very light in weight.
What a difference from my old Dyson

Very efficient for a small & lightweight upright vacuum cleaner, at only 1200 Watts I initially did have my doubts that this cleaner would have the "Air Power" at the nozzle and floor brushes to do the job, however having tried this Mach-Air / U91-MA-B cleaner VAX have obviously achieved a great deal from only 1200 watts at the motor with cleaner that is easy to use and very good on carpets and those awkward "nooks & "crannies" with the nozzle.

Never could agree in the past either upright or cylinder but now it has to be the Vax-Air the best of both.

BOUGHT FOR ELDERLY LADY THAT WANTED A LIGHTWEIGHT VACCUM, EXCELLENT VALUE, LIGHTWEIGHT EASY TO USE, AND PICKS UP WELL,WOULD GET ONE MYSELF WHEN NEXT NEED VACCUM.

Very satisfied with results and would recommend to anyone

Having damaged my shoulder I needed a much lighter machine and one with a roller so that much of the effort of moving the machine was relieved. Because our flat is not massive, we also needed an upright: the other type with a long hose merely wipes objects off furniture!

However, I did have concerns that this machine would actually be effective. The result was extraordinary. It beat our Sebo upright and a Henry hands down by the amount that was in the container afterwards: we were quite shocked.

Thoroughly recommended.

This vac is fantastic, it is light, powerful and compact. I had a dyson that worked very well but the weight was a problem as I have arthritis. The u91-MA-B Air is best vac I have ever used and a great price from Amazon.

I am delighted with it. I have rheumatoid arthritis and having something so light and easy to use is great. I especially like the way the cylinder opens so you can empty it, I only have to press one button which is simple to open it. I don't have to unscrew or fiddle with anything. I am so pleased with it, I am hoping to get another one for upstairs, I cannot carry hoovers up the stairs. Being so small of course it doesn't hold as much, but this is fine as I only have a small house. With it being so easy though, I use it more regularly, therefore empty it more frequently anyway.

The U91-MA-B Air is extremely useful as it is light and powerful. I keep mine upstairs at home, so that I don't have to carry my Dyson up the stairs. I have difficulty going up stairs carrying things. It is easy to use.

The vacume cleaner is very light and powerful the only critisism is that the hose is far too short so I had to buy the extending hose to fit on the end.Apart from that I am very pleased with this product.

Hello there Vax, I really like this product and the way it looks, and the light weight of the appliance is a real plus. However, it is not easy to use the Vax vacuum tools with ease. Also the Vax does not pick up as well I would have liked. But over all its a nice Vacuum cleaner. Thank you for your time.

I firmly believe in reviews to improve products so here goes.
Firstly I am very impressed. Suction and build quality very good. Operation simple.
Potential improvements
1) When detaching the hose from the base of the machine to attach the extension or other cleaning nozzles the flexible hose gets caught on the grey retaining ring such that the first part of the hose gets highly stretched before the remainder even moves. I expect this will cause the first part of the hose to fail.
2) The brush bar on / off switch is very close to the on/ off button for the VaX itself. As I have virtually never switch off the brush bars it causes consternation when you switch them off by accident when using the main button. You think the machine has broken !
Pretty minor points as so far after about 2 weeks I love it !

This little machine is a delight to use it has good suction and it gets in places where my old dyson couldn't if I have a couple of small criticisims it would be that the lead could be perhaps another 2metres longer and be tangle free cable and the flexible hose a bit more user friendly otherwise as I say it is a nice machine and it was a good price

We are very pleased with the purchase. It is incredibly light compared to our previous Electrolux and considerably quieter.

The suction is brilliant on carpets and with the brushes turned off it performs well on tiled floors.

The contents of the drum are clearly visible and it is easy to empty.

The adjustable handle and compactness makes it a dream to store.

After just over a week's use..............10/10.

Had we filled in this feedback form in February when we were sent it, we would not have done the cleaner justice. Months of use in both a normal domestic and a semi-commercial environment (we renovate property and have used it in some very challenging situations) has convinced us this must be one of the best cleaners on the market. Lightweight, robust, extremely well engineered, versatile, easy to use and empty - what more can we say? Extremely impressed - so much so I can't believe I have taken the time to fill in this form but felt it only fair to say how we feel.
In trying to think of any improvements, I can only think of the following;- when the machine is being used on nozzle only the concertina tube tries to stay close to the machine which makes it difficult to stretch and invariably causes the machine tio fall over. If the ring which secured the tube was detachable or clip-secure, it would make this feature easier to use.
I hope this is helpful.

I have only just received this Machine and used to clean the carpets throughout the house. The results were outstanding. I am retired and able to keep on top of cleaning the house so the carpets are regulaly cleaned however after using the VAX I was astounded how much rubbish was lifted out of the pile. Brilliant purchase.

Attractive design, but the electric cable shorter than my previous classic Electrolux. The extension hose that I purchased additionally, is not very long either and rather expensive for what it represents.
The suction is excellent. Heavier too push than I expected, although the vaccum cleaner itself light.

Very good so far. I bought the machine as people had said that it was light, and being in a wheelchair I thought that I would give it a try. The only downside is that the cable is a tad short and the machine can be difficult to use on carpets with a slightly generous pile. I have only used it once, hence my comments are on limited use.

Very pleased with the Vax upright vacuum cleaner. The simple instruction which came with it were easy to follow and within minutes of unpacking the well protected box the cleaner was tidying up the house. Light to use and easy to empty. Little noise compared to our previous hoover and much more efficient. Altogether, a very good purchase . The downside being I, the male in the house, still has to show the other gender how to operate it. You just cannot win.

I think the vax air is smashing , its a light weight - easy to carry up and down stairs - I bought my mother-in-law one too due to her having arthritis of the spine and she thinks its great!!! because its not heavy to push around.

I do like this appliance,it is powerfull and easy to use but my only criticism is that it falls over quite easily when using the extended tube. I understand that it is a lightweight appliance and part of the appeal but this can at best be frustrating and worst be dangerous. The only answer is to purchase the longer extension tube which I feel should be part of the machine because of this problem. I hope you find this contructive criticism helpful.

As good as the previous Vax I had. Very light and easy to use. I would recommend this vacumn cleaner.

This vacuum cleaner is wonderful, it's light and easy to manoevure,
it has great suction which you can feel when using, and the added bonus of having option to switch off brushes is very good too rather than depending on the machine to find the floor level as with my very heavy well known cleaner. It is compact when storing and takes up little room, overall i am very pleased with it and it comes with a 6 year warranty what a bargain for the cost.

Am very pleased with this vacuum, used my old one first (very popular make) and then ran my Vax over the same area and was shocked at the amount of dirt it got out.
the hose system takes a bit of getting used to but a small thing I can live with.

The Vax U9-MA-B Air is an effective & powerful vacuum cleaner which was bought for its lightness. The performance is excellent for a lightweight machine but is let down by:
1) Leaves an indentation on a thick carpet from its narrow wheels.
2) Attachments keep falling off storage position.
3) Power lead could do with being longer.

The 5 year warranty gives peace of mind.

to date the cleaner is working o.k.

I think that the Vax is very light and has good suction. The downsides are that the attachments don't stay attached; when using the attachments there is a long extension however doing the stairs often results in the Vax moving too as its so light; the Vax is sometimes hard to maneuver.

I am delighted with my new Vax, easy to use, easy to empty, tools are all on board for upholstery and edges, finding hoovering a joy to do. I need to carry my vacuum over three floors, previously this has been a big labour, it's now no obstacle at all. I would thoroughly endorse this product.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THIS PRODUCT IN EVERY WAY. IT PERFORMED EXACTLY AS STATED IN YOUR DESCRIPTION. I HAVE OSTEO-ARTHRITIS IN BOTH WRISTS BUT WAS STILL ABLE TO PICK MY VAX UP AND CARRY IT AND IT WAS SO EASY TO PUSH AROUND. THE SUCTION IS GREAT AND THE TOOLS EASY TO ACCESS.

Brill vac. Cord could be longer but would tell everyone to buy one !

It does exactly as it claims. It is lightweight, powerful, and much cheaper than its competitor. Your next hoover should be this one.

An excellent vacuum cleaner, very light, very efficient and easy to use. Perhaps the mains lead could be a little longer. I would recommend this vacuum cleaner.

Really powerful hoover that cleans right down to the base off the carpet, I'm very pleased with it - highly recommend !

Excellent vacuum cleaner, very easy to store in a small space. It sucks up dust and dirt extremely well. The only downsides I would consider would be the length of the reach when using the tool, but this is counteracted by the weight of the product being so light so can be easily moved. The other would be that there is no way to alter the suction of the cleaner if you are cleaning something like the sofa where it seems just to suck up the material rather than crumbs. Other than that as the first vacuum cleaner I have owned I am very pleased with the product as a whole and enjoy cleaning our flat with it!

First class but could do with a longer lead.

This is a brilliant lightweight upright cleaner. Good suction and very easy to store. I bought one for my mother and was so impressed I bought one for myself.

Forced to buy new Cleaner as existing Dyson broke down, almost purchased the new lightweight Dyson but having read favourable comments about Vax U91 decided to purchase also swayed by lower price. I have not been disappointed it is light weight (no more back ache) picks up all loose bits and gives the carpet that just brushed look with the suction excellant has to be emptied more regularly than a larger cleaner but hey! I did that anyway. I now enjoy sweeping up how sad is that?

Having had numerous cleaners over 40 years of marriage,this VAX AIR is without dought the best cleaner I have ever used. It is so light and easy to use and easy to empty,NO BAGS wonderful. Also many thanks for your prompt service.

This is the first VAX product I have ever bought - selected on the basis of its light weight but very pleased with performance - exceptional suction and hence cleaning power. Would recommend to anyone.

Excellent product. Really light and easy to use. Suction is great, couldnt believe how clean my carpets were. Would have liked a longer hose to do stairs, however this has not put me off would and have recommended this to family and friends. Brilliant.

This Vax is light and very easy to use, the only down side is that the brushes keep falling off from the back while not in use. I've tried all different ways but they keep falling off. Also the lead needs to be abit longer (my old turboforce vax used to do the whole length of my though lounge but this lead is too short)the Vax is easy to empty a lovely little machine.

Brilliant, genuinely after the last 3 years of replacing my vaccum yearly due to poor performance tired filters and breakages, I was delighted that this lovely neat light machine does exactly what it says, I thought it would be less powerful due to the 1200 but not at all, what it means is it is a lot quieter with twice the power of last diasterous vaccuum supposedly boasting 1900 power, that just spills and blows all the dust out the vents and deafens you.... thank you very much for restoring my faith..... would recommend and with 6 years guarantee whats not to like, simple light weight but great all rounder

AMAZING! Unbelievable powerful, and compares to no other hoover.

We chose this model of Vax because it was so much lighter than other models and being slightly smaller made it easier to store away. But in every other way this performs just like a full size model, with excellent suction and manoeuvrability. The build quality seems robust, which was underlined when registering on line which increased the warranty to six years. We are very happy we chose the Vax.

Generally very pleased, it is extremely lightweight and compact and has some really good features, it is easy to empty. On the minus side the cable is very short, and the attaching the hose and extension tube is a bit fiddly. I would definitely recommend it.

We live in a bungalow so not a lot of room to move large heavy vacs about,this is light and not as large has most vacs so is much better the suction is great and it is very easy to empty,i would have given this vac 10/10 but it has got no power reducer slide and is to much for my small rugs so i have had to keep my old vac to do my kitchen mats. Why do these makers never get it all right, i have used all types of vacs in my time but never had one yet that ticks all the boxes i think they should ask women we use them more plus are not always strong as men to lift and pull about with them.

Light weight moves easily across floors and picks up lots of dirt! The tools are easy to assemble and it is quick and simple to empty. The only downside is the lack of lead length.

have used a couple of times from purchase date,have had no problems working fine for my use and is very light to use this was the main reason for the purchase.

This is an excellent vacuum. The only point that I found difficult was interpreting the drawings on how to use the separate functions. They are too small for immediate use.

Best Hoover i've ever had

very impressed with my new Vax, lightweight about half the weight of my old upright. Easy to use, cleaning, design and features all 10 out of 10. Bits I like most: a lot quieter than my old cleaner, no extension tubes stuck on side just pull out the handle its an extending tube, button to turn off head brushes.

Really pleased with my new Vax. Lovely and light, picks up well which is necessary with two hairy dogs. Needs emptying very frequently and the tools keep falling off the back. Otherwise it is great.

Absolutely fabulous! I can carry it around the house - which I coudn't do with my previous upright vacuum cleaner. The choice of having the 'sweepers' on or off is brilliant and very convenient. The suction is amazing.

An excellent machine for compact areas

This model is easy to use, especially for older people who are not fit and strong.The suction and brush head work good,however as a retired Toolmaker I found the extension coupling fiddly and of poor design,surely a problem area in the near future.The fact of bending down to actually uncouple and extend it is tiresome and awkward.That being the case the rest of the model is of good design perhaps you could on future marks include an automatic cable rewind.

Exactly what I needed. Light and easy to handle, picks up efficiently, so easy to empty without getting dust up my nose! Takes up very little space in the cupboard. Magic!

Main reason for buying was need for light weight with efficient usage.
Weight was important as my wife being senior citizen and not as fit as could be.She has found this extremely easy to use and manouevre.The design enables her to get lower under furniture and has found full edge to edge vacuum efficient. We have 2 birds(parrot & cockatiel) so lots of seed/food and small feathers, the vacuum has dealt with it very well.Whilst hose & accessories may not be quite as practical as previous vax, it does its job.The other minor drawback is mains lead could benefit from being a little longer (as previous vax) enabling whole bungalow to be cleaned from one central socket, but this is only minor drawback. All in all a very satisfactory purchase, would recommend it.

After using a Vax 2000 for the past few years which was very heavy, I find my new U91 VaxAir a pleasure to use. It is very light, its quiet for a vacuum, it picks up really well and the cable is plenty long enough. Its also easy to empty. My husband says its as though you're not really vacuuming, it really is very good! The only complaint the tools are small and fall off the clip on the back - otherwise brilliant!

I am very pleased with my Vac. It had to be a lightweight because of my disability and it is certainly that. The only thing that is annoying is the wire, it gets in the way when in use. It certainly cleans well. Very satisfied.

I Love my new VAX U91-MA-B Air hoover I wanted a hoover that was light and this is the one, I have always owned a Dyson but it was so heavy sorry Dyson sticking to Vax from now on.

You have got it right with this lovely little hoover its light, good suction nice modern design, I like the idea that you can switch from carpet to floor in seconds without any bother it certainly makes my work a lot easier, I even like the colour and the light on the front.

Maybe a slightly longer lead but its not a big deal.

I searched for my hoover for months before purchasing it and it certainly paid off

Just getting familiar with my new Vax cleaner - small problem when the brushes did not revolve and the cleaner did not pick up - studied instructions - checked for any reason - used the reset button and all is well again. Still do not know why the brushes did not work, had not knowingly changed anything. I now assume, that,l if the light is not on at the bottom of the unit, then the brushes are not working - and then to set the reset button after checking that there is no reason for the non-functioning of the brushes and it should be o.k.

Other than that - I am very pleased with my new cleaner, as I am with the smaller model (cylinder) I purchased last year.

This is an excellent piece of kit. Best cleaner I've ever had & well worth the money. Got it in a sale which was even better. I would definitely recommend the Air. The dirt it picks up is unbelievable. Its much quieter than my previous vacuum cleaner. The only negative I can say (which isn't really bothersome) is that it can't be used on linoleum as makes a good attempt to lift it off the floor.

I am very happy with my new vax. So light and easy to move around. Also It goes right under the bed which is great, could not do that with my old Dyson. So far I love it.

Overall it's pretty good: light and easy to handle - which is what I wanted. On the downside, using the tools is a pain - literally! I have arthritis and unplugging the hose at the base is difficult for me. The Dyson was much better in this respect even though it was much heavier. Get your designers to have a rethink on this area and it would be near perfect.

Wanted a lightweight vacuum cleaner for my narrow boat. The U91-MA-B Air ticks all the boxes with Superb suction for such a small machine. I would recomend the Vax.

I am very pleased with this vacum cleaner it gets under the front of my furniture which my previous one didn't, it is very light weight which is good for me as I have a bad back and the best vacum cleaner I have had in the last 32 years.

Lightweight, well designed vacuum cleaner with good suction and excellent maneouvourability. Only negative aspects are the tools. The hose is too short (can buy alternative though) and the nozzle doesn't stay in its clip when using vacuum cleaner. Also on a personal note an extra 5m of cable would have been ideal to anabling cleaning of full house from one socket.
Over time the front clear section does look as though it will become brittle and crack. For the moment however an excellent buy if you find it for under

loved it! extending hose could be longer,even with the extension hose fitted it still wouldn't reach all the way down stairs.

This vacuum 'does what it says on the box'. It's light enough to carry on the stairs with sufficient power/suction to cope with dog & cat hairs. Takes up less room than my old one to store as well. One drawback to this model is the small dust container but happy to cope with this as my preference was a lightweight machine that did not loose suction as it filled. I would certainly rate this vacuum 4.5 out of 5.0. The reason for the drop of half a point in this rating is the brush attachment will not stay attached to the back of the machine and falls off regularly. Only bought the machine 2 weeks ago but do not feel this is a significant problem to complain about

Bought in the first instance for its extremely low weight, I was unsure about how it would perform in the power stakes. I need not have worried. Its suction and efficiency are, in my opinion, class leading. I had already owned an older large Vax cleaner and was impressed with everything apart from its size and weight. The U91-MA-B Air outperforms it on all counts. My mother has the equivalent Dyson machine (the ball model). I can state with confidence that the Vax outperforms the Dyson on nearly all counts. Well done Vax - recommended highly.

Great little vacuum cleaner, much better than the brand we had previously. Compact and lightweight but does as it says on the packaging, our carpet has never looked so good. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Compact, lightweight and great suction. Bought for use in a static caravan and works fine. Slight issue with the hose attachment at the base - it has a tendency to kink.

I'm very pleased with the performance of the U91-MA-B air and it certainly cleans carpets very well. It is also very easy to use and being very lightweight is an absolute bonus. It's the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned.

A brilliant product

I like the cleaner very much. It is light and easy to use. It is also powerful and efficient. The cleaner can be taken apart easily for emptying and cleaning. I think the cable should be longer- its a nuisance to have to change sockets before covering the whole area that needs cleaning.

Thank you very much for your contact re the above. Unfortunately, after an initial period of absolute satisfaction with the machine, we can now not click the nozzle back into place at the rear! There is no discernible reason for this (i.e. all the bits are still functioning and the nozzle is clear) but it's simply refusing to go back in.

What do you reckon would be the best course of action?

Just recently bought the Vax Air U91 MA-B machine. I am very pleased with it. This machine is lightweight and has an amazing suction power. We took it up to our caravan, as we needed a new machine, and could not believe the amount of dust fibres etc that came swirling up into the compartment within seconds of using it. In fact I think I may take it home and use it there as it may be too powerful for our van, as it nearly sucks up the lino in the kitchen area, which is a bit frustrating, but I suppose this suggests how good it is.

Would definately recommend this product.

My wife and I are very pleased with the new vac'. We are both into the later stages of life and this vac is a boon because it is so light and easy to push along. This as well as its quite powerful motor make it a ideal for us. If we have one minor complaint it is with the accessory which does not clip onto the vac very well, but this apart we are more than pleased thank you.

A powerfull and lightweight machine with tremendous suction power and lifts dirt and hairs that my previous machine a dyson animal which was cumbersome and heavy..

Extremely pleased with my Vax which I have had for 7 months. So pleased that it is light enough to carry upstairs easily but still has tremendous cleaning power. It is particularly good for me as we do not have a great deal of carpet downstairs. Otherwise I feel it would need frequent emptying but then it is very easy to empty. My only other criticism is that I do not find the way of carrying the crevice tool particularly secure so I keep that separate (it keeps falling off - unless I am doing it incorrectly). On the subject of the crevice tool, I was overwhelmingly impressed when I broke mine and on inquiring about a replacement received a new one by first class post the next day free of charge!

I have used the B AIR and find it first class as it is light very very powerful. I would certainly recomend it to everybody. Marks out 10 I Will have to give it 10 + 10

It is a compact size for an upright. Suction is great and it is pretty light in weight. The only don side it, it is a little fiddly to unplug the hose, then add in the handle and then whatever end piece you want to use the hand nozzle unit.

Overall I am very pleased with the Vax. I find it easy to use and lght to carry about. It is efficient and does a good job cleaning the carpets. The only critism I have is when I come to use the hose, I find it a bit unwieldy. That may be because it is all new and I have not yet quite got the hang of manipulating it.

By far the best cleaner we have ever used, and we have had a few! My wife and I are both in our eighties!!

this is the best cleaner that i have ever had it is so light& easy to use,i have had various cleaners in the past but this one tops the lot the only thing is that the tools keep falling off the back,but of course it does not effect the performance of a brilliant product.

I am very pleased with the lightness of the machine - I have some health problems which made it difficult for me to use my previos machine particularly taking it up stairs. The cleaning quality is very good. My only slight criticism is that the lead could have been a little longer but that is a very minor point.

I was pleased to put my Vax Air together and begin cleaning(not a job that normally attracts me). After working out the well-positioned knobs I Vax-ed the laminate floor smoothly then switched to use the machine on my beige carpet. It looks rejuvinated! I then took out the easy-accessed tools and opened the car door to Vax the interior. Thanx Vax!

I have had a Dyson for the past five years and I have always disliked it because it is extremely noisy, very heavy and bulky and generally akward to use - it still works fine, so the reason for buying a Vax was because I'm fed up with it!

I was drawn to the Vax as it is quite a bit smaller than the Dyson and much lighter. It is also much quieter as well! The rotary brush turns off automatically whn the cleaner is fully upright and can also be switched on and off for hard floors or carpet. The rotary brush head is much slimmer than the Dyson and can easily get into or under small spaces. The hose is easy to use and the supplied tools are excellent.

I would recommend this cleaner to anyone and everyone who will listen and the Dyson is now relegated to jobs around the garage. This is a great and very well designed cleaner. Well done VAX!

the machine would be the best if only you could higher and lower the brushes. we find it hard to use on carpets.most top machines do have a high and low fitted but dissapointingly not this one.

Although only used once, and although its little foibles need getting used to, I would recomend it to anyone for its relative lightness and its ability to get into corners. It also has a powerful 'hoover action'. It is also easy to clean, for a change. Thank you, David Nicks.

Very nice little machine. I needed a lighterweight machine because of my arthritis and this fits the bill beautifully and cleans well with less effort than my previous machine (which had served me well for many years)

Brilliant. Could do with a longer hose though to reach the ceiling & hose attachment at the bottom of the machine.

I love the Vax Mach Air U91. It's as light in weight as they say, so easy to carry upstairs. It picks up well and is easy to manoeuvre. My only criticism is the flex holder is made of rigid plastic and is not wide enough for the cord!

I have previously had a Dyson and Hoover vacuum cleaner and this is a better machine than them both. It is light weight easily manoeuvred,with a powerful suction action that lifts the dirt right out of the carpet. the thinner profile of the cleaning head makes it easier to vacuum under furniture. on the downside the container for the waste is quite small requiring more frequent emptying and it is a little pricey.

As i have a severe back problem i picked the vax because of its weight. The suction is very good for collecting the fur of my black labrador. The vax is easy to use. Very pleased.

I am very impressed with this little machine - as it is small, it is light and easy to deal with. It is very powerful and seems to 'suck' the carpet. I like that you can have the carpet brush on or off. The design of the 'head' is also good as the two bits that protrude at the front are able to get right next to the skirting board/ side of the furniture and pick up bits that my previous machinie would have missed as it was flat at the side. My only complaint is that the brush attachment regularly falls off the shaft as I am using the machine. I think it could be more securely attached in some way.

Really pleased with the performance of the vacuum cleaner. It picks up really well and I've been impressed with the amount of dirt that has been collected.
On the negative side: * onboard storage is not very successful, the tools fall off as I vacuum or as I uncoil the flex,this could be solved by having a proper clip instead of the rest. * using the tools to clean upholstery is quite difficult. The flexible hose is fine but the clip that holds it close to the vacuum is screwed on and so therefore when using the tools the flex is rubbing against the clip and I can see that this could result in the hose splitting sometime in the future also it means the flex is quite short - i have to lift the vacuum onto the sofa in order to use the tools, this could have been solved by having a clip that could be relesed when using the flex with tools.

A very efficient lightweight small cleaner used in conjunction with my larger Dyson. Only comment is that it would be helpful if the roller with the bristles on it were removable.

I love my new Vacuum Cleaner. Its light to push around and very good on getting all the dirt up especially cat hair. I get around the floor in a flash.A lighter vacuum makes work more pleasurable.
The one thing that is a problem is the 3-in-1 tool that sits between the cable, it never stays where it should be, it falls off all the time. Also I need to purchase the extra stretch hose as the one attached to the machine is not sufficient to clean the stairs and I think should be a standard part.

Excellent value for money, really lightweight and very versatile. I can get it under tables and beds without having to get down on my hands and knees - something I couldn't do with my previous upright vac.

I love the fact that all you have to do is press a button when changing from carpets to hard flooring. As hoovering is not such a chore I may even do it more often!

I bought the VAX Air (U91-MA-B) a few weeks back to replace my 3 year old vacuum cleaner that had started giving me a really tough time.

After having bought a few different models in the past, I really wanted to get myself on the next generation of vacuum cleaners with the cyclonic technology and a HEPA filter. My choices were Dyson or Miele or the Vax. I went for the Vax because I found the others about twice the cost and weighing quite a lot. I had read the reviews on several sites and knew what I would be getting.

My first impression on using it: it was super light, compared to my previous one and it sucked up a load of stuf off my carpet, even though I had just hoovered it about 5 days ago. To see the difference, you should try your old vacuum cleaner, go over an area in the carpet or floor. And then try with the Vax and it still picks up a lot of stuff that would otherwise still be there.

I've used it for about 4 times in the last 3 weeks in my 2 bedroom flat. I might be due to take out the dust cylinder after the next time - so thats about once in a month, which is not bad. One thing I would like the product to improve on would be to have a longer hose and a longer cable - although it does not bother me for my home, but it might do for others with farther corners to reach. Another thing to get used to is the button to switch between hardfloors and carpets, especially because I used to go between them before stopping till now, but I'm getting over it. I would have put the button to open the cylinder on the side or back out of easy reach of children. But these are minor glitches worth .5 of a star on my rating.

Otherwise, its been money very well spent to get the lightest next generation vacuum cleaner that I could find out there. And I would gladly recommend it to any one else.

Move over Dyson! Very efficient powerful vacuum and lightweight in use. Much easier to use than many competitors products we have tried. A longer electric flex would be a useful addition and, if being picky, the proccess to conect the extension hose and tools is a little fiddly, especially with arthritic hands.

Overall an excellent product with which we are very pleased.

I am really delighted with this vacuum. My other was really heavy and carrying it upstairs was a nightmare, but now with this one it is so much easier.

Very impressed gets into all the little corners and very easy to move around had a battle when i went to do our little rugs as the suction was very powerful and the Vax wanted to swallow up the rug but i won in the end. Ten out of ten and money well spent methinks ..

It is smaller making it easier to store, much lighter making it easier to carry up and down the stairs and plenty of power,cleaning as well as machines with twice the motor power.

Excellent vacuum cleaner. Brilliant that it is so lightweight. Suction power is also excellent.

However it could have had a longer hose for the tool adapter and a longer electrical cord.

Very satisfied with my latest purchase my previous vacuum was a Dyson, it was far too heavy and didn't have a guarantee as good as the Vax.

Clearly the lightest and easiest vacuum I have ever used, I love it. The only niggle I have is the tools are in the wrong place and get in the way of the cord but I have taken them off.

The hoover is very light to use. It's excellent in that it cleans carpet OR wooden floors, and it has a really good suction. My only complaint is that it's a bit fiddly to use with the tools-the crevice tool does'nt click in properly, and can come apart very easily. It's very easy to empty and keep clean.

Overall, I am pleased with the Vax U91-MA-B Air. It is very lightweight and easy to use. It seems to pick up dirt and dust well, although it is not quite as powerful as my last hoover. The negative points are: the power lead is too short and the tools could be better designed. They are not particularly easy to use on stairs as there is no bend on the attachments (unlike on the Dyson hoover). I have had no problems to date and would recommend the product.

I can honestly say that after using various vacuum cleaners for nearly 50 years I have found the Vax to be in a completely different class from all the ones I've used before. The quality is superb and the suction is fabulous. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the amount of fine dust it picked up without going over the carpets more than once and the dog hairs were all picked up even without the pet hair removal tool. It also really does deal with the edges as with the rest of the carpet and it is simple to empty. A great piece of engineering.

I should first of all say I am a physicist; not, perhaps your average user. I have read Dyson's biography so I know about the development of the cyclone separator from industrial to domestic use. I have never bought a Dyson partly because they are expensive and partly because almost everybody I have asked has found some fault with them. However the cyclone technology must be one of the most amazing developments of the last 30 years.

Knowing that some of the expense of a Dyson is due to the materials they use and the extensive testing, and that I bought the Vax for less than half the price of the cheapest Dyson, I did not expect the Vax to be particularly well designed or constructed.

My previous vacuum cleaner was an Electrolux bagless cheap device from Tescos. I bought it a few years ago. Though it is bagless it only bears a feeble resemblance to a cyclonic separator: the filter blocks almost immediately and the 1600 watts of power can then only be dissipated in heat within the motor which then cuts out. An extremely bad design.

I do not normally write glowing reviews. I am picky and difficult to please and my engineering background and aesthetic sense will normally find fault in several areas of design. Do not underestimate the significance therefore when I say that the Vax is a thing of beauty and of impeccable design and construction. You have made good use of Dyson

I have had a Vax 2000 for 20 years and it still works very well! My husband bought me a lighter U91-MA=B Mach Air vacuum cleaner which is brilliant and I love doing housework with it. I still use the Vax 2000 alongside the new machine and would not have any other make.

What a fantastic product! I can't believe how excited I am by a hoover! The suction is immense and really gets into your carpets, and it equally works well on hard floors without blowing dirt around like my old hoover. As it's so small, it's easy to maneouvre around. The hose is easy to whip out and attach the cleaning accessories to. And it's easy to dispose of the dirt without falling out everywhere, as the whole section pops out. Highly recommended product, especially due to the fantastic price. Much better than my old hoover.

Brilliant! Does more than it claims! A real pleasure to use! takes the back-ache out of house work! so easy to empty.

Only improvment I could suggest would be to be able to use the handle as an extention without having to unplug the hose from the base and replug it into the handle - just a bit fiddly.But that would mean a major re-design I assume and I would hate to spoil a near perfect product for such a minor gripe.

The Vax vacuum is excellant,so light to use and is so powerful I don't know why I didn't buy it sooner. The only downside is that the cable is not long enough.

I found the vax to be very light weight, the suction is fantastic and never seems to slow down unlike my last hoover. It is very easy to empty when full.

This vacuum cleaner from my point of view is brilliant , I have a weak back & so often in the past to have a vacuum cleaner that was light enough for me to use meant sacrificing power ,but this machine is fantastic ,I can use it without putting a strain on my back yet it has big machine performance , wonderful.I also like the height ajustable handle which not all vacuum cleaners have. please give my thanks to the designers .

We love the machine which we chose primarily because it is lightweight. Our property has three flights of stairs and our old vacuum cleaner was incredibly heavy to lift up and down. The Mach Air is so much easier and more comfortable to move around the house. The Vax also cleans superbly well and it is good to see the dirt actually going into the container at a teriffic rate - it makes you feel as if you have achieved something however sad that seems!!

extremely pleased with this vax as its very light and managable, i also find the tools easy to use without too much effort, i have had a wet and dry vax a number of years ago,which i also found to be very good. this new vax is much easier for me and quite inexpensive, would definitely have another one and have recommended it to friends who are getting older, like me.

The Vax was bought for my mother who is impressed with how well it picks up, but disappointed that the brushes don't actually go round whilst in its upright position, only when tilted. preferring to hoover the stairs whilst in its upright position.

I love this machine it is very efficient and light, the only problem I have had so far is when pushing backwards and forwards, the beater bar lifts up and has to drop back down, wether this is because it is stiff or too light I am not sure, but that is the only problem I have had, it does not affect the performance but because I have to wait for the front to drop back down takes a bit longer hoovering the house., I also love the fact the beater bar is slim and can fit under my sofas and cabinets around the edges where the dust can gather.

I have been very satisfied with my new Vax machine, I wished I had bought it sooner. I am 70yrs of age and only 5ft tall, the fact that it is not big and heavy suits perfectly in my 2 bed bungalow. There is a small downside and that is the size of the hose, it is so short it makes certain jobs much more difficult than they need be.

Amazed at such a lightweight machine being as powerful as heavier machines.It is very easy to manoeuvre and carry.I have always searched for a lightweight machine and would recommend this Vax.It is easy to empty and doesn't take up too much storage space.The guarantee for such a long period makes you have confidence in the product.

Bought as a lightweight cleaner for use in the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. Does everything that is promised though the dust collector is somewhat small. Powerful suction appears better even than our big Dyson. Bathroom talcum powder collection might be a filter problem, we'll have to see. Could be a problem cleaning the machine - not easy to get into. Haven't needed to use the tools so cannot comment. Cable length not a problem even though our bedrooms are quite large the cleaner can deal with them from the centrally located plug on the landing. So far, a couple of weeks, so good.

Very light and easy to use and more powerful than the Dyson for dog hair. I like the ability to switch the beater on and off so can move easily from rug to laminate flooring. The low profile T shaped head makes it easy to vacuum under chairs and catch the crumbs dropped without having to move the whole chair. Not so easy to use on stairs as the hose is quite short.

Brilliant little machine.Was going to replace my old dyson with a new one,but after using mach air elsewhere decided to buy this instead.My daughter has had a go with it &is now going to get one.Only downside for me is lead is a bit short but can work with that.

It is a different vacuuming experience, actually, and I need to treat the machine delicately compared with previous machines. I am very impressed with the design, both for operating and emptying - all spare plastic has been shaved away, and I hope the quality of plastic is tough - time will tell. As for power, it is very effective. And as for lightness, it is easy to carry upstairs etc. As to using the tools, the expandable hose comes out very low from the machine, held in by a clip retainer. I think this could be improved simply using a swivel on the clip retainer. But it seems to be an excellent choice - well done Vax.

Very good suction, almost too good as it starts to pull the lino and rugs up! Very lightweight, so very portable, easy to empty but when emptying, the dust sticks to the inside and outside of the cannister - presumably too much static from the vortex?

We have been really pleased with how well it cleans and its light easy use.

I bought this for my mother in law, aged 82, who needed a very lightweight machine. I was impressed by the combination of excellent reviews, the VAX long guarantee and a reasonable price for this quality. My mother in law is pleased with the machine. We went through the instructions carefully, and found everything to be clear. Having now used it, she reported that it doesn't vacuum under the chairs very far, due to its design. She also struggled to get the little tools apart; pressing the button and pulling tight fitting pieces apart at the same time was very tricky for her. The VAX also overheated and cut out while she was looking at it recently. But it was fine again once left for a while. I think she was probably spending ages, much longer than she realised, fiddling about with the hose, re-attaching it etc., while it was switched on. Overall, very satisfied.

This little machine is a monster! I love it, its very powerful light and easy to use and easy to store, we are working on a campsite and are living in our caravan with a big awning, I use this machine to cleand the floor and carpets as well as the upholstry and its up for the job. well worth the price!

Having only used the vacuum cleaner a few times, we have found it to be very efficient. It is quiet, and lightweight, which was the main reason for purchasing this model in the first instance. Friends of ours have a Dyson, and when they demonstrated it to us prior to us getting a new cleaner, we found it to be heavy to manoeuvre and very, very noisy. I am sure we will continue to be satisfied with our Vax.

My wife found the instructions not very clear in the book example the red light came on and she was not sure what had happend and could not find what to do in the book. Then by accident i found the re set button on the under side of the vax appart from that incident she likes it. Before we purchased this vaccum we had a dyson but this one does the job. The reason why we purchase this vax it is lighter and more powerfull.

Excellent "vac" in terms of suction / cleaning and portability, have just a few gripes as below:- The location of the on board multi-tool is not ideal as the lead will frequently foul it and pull it from its fitting slot. The lead itself is too short by about 2 metres compared to other brands although I accept that it is the length it is because of the restraint imposed by the way it is secured around the turnlocks. The pricing by your stockists is not consistent. We paid

Really good vac, had it a couple of weeks now can't fault it. It's lightweight, good suction would never go back to my old cylinder model.I like the fact that you don't have to bend down making it easier on my back. Would recommend it to anyone.

Our old vacuum cleaner broke just as we were starting to mind our daughter's cats, while she and her family moved to and renovated a house. We needed something that would deal with the fallout from a large, long-haired, moulting moggie. Your machine does the trick. We tried several in the store and were attracted by the lightness of the Vax, as my wife has arthritis in her wrists. She is finding it much more easy to use than our previous bagged upright. We're getting good results on a range of surfaces, though both of us find the extension hose fiddly. (This seems to be an area of design that no manufacturer has cracked yet.) Emptying the collected dust and fluff could not be easier, though we do think the instructions for cleaning the filters are a bit minimal. However, overall, we are very pleased and think it is good value for money.

Good buy - efficient and light to carry. The huge advantage is that not only is the machine bag-less, but that the filters can be washed and re-used, making it a very economical purchase.

This is a lovely little vacuum cleaner - Have had many other cleaners but this one does the job better and is also nice and light. I have had three other Vax Cleaners but this one is the BEST the others:- one is is a pain;one I got rid of (old) the other os okay but heavy but this one tops any other cleaner I have ever has and that includes a Dyson. Excellent I would definitely recommend. Having used my old vac just before and then getting the new one, it picked up soooooo much more but then I knew I needed a new one! Really like the switch off brush feature a great idea when you have rugs with tufty edges! Like the lightweightness and compactness it doesn't take up much room in my cupboard. Power cable could be a bit longer.

Brilliant hoover, only problem is that the tools are forever falling off the back of the hoover when the tools are not in use.

We purchased this vacuum cleaner for its light weight and efficient cleaning and suction. A light weight cleaner was required as we are starting to find hoovering rather heavy and painful bearing in mind our age. Only time will tell how good this product is but so far we are delighted with it on all counts and if it passes the test of time, would thoroughly recommend it. The only negative comment we have is that it would benefit from having a stair hose. TFK.

This Vax upright vacuum cleaner is a nice light powerful machine. Its light, very easy to carry. Its powerful, gets all ever thing off both carpets and laminates. Including dog hairs. Its nice, it has a button to stop the rotating brush when not using on carpet,the hose suction is strong,and the handle height is adjustable. Only real quibble is the flex which could be slightly longer and should be higher up so that you don't have to hold it to stop it being run over. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it, in fact I have recommended it to my sister who struggles to carry her Dyson up and down stairs.

I have been very pleased with my new Mach Air vacuum. It has excellent suction, is light and easy to use. Normal noise volumn and easy to empty. Could do with a slighty longer lead- another meter would make the world of difference.

Light and easy to use with good suction. The downsides are, the smallest amount of material caught round the brushes makes them stop rotating and has to be cleared. The place to stow the attachments is no good they just fall out all the time. When using the pipe be careful as the whole machine tipped over the first time I used it causing the carry handle to snap.

I love this product, its represents excellent value for money, its very easy to use and is very light and really gets the job done. I think the only downside is the cord could do with being a bit longer, but that doesn't detract from its functionality and quality. Excellent power and turbo brushbar with the reassurance of a six year guarantee.Light weight is ideal for easy cleaning.Easily the best vacuum cleaner I've bought but the cable is too short and so is the hose making cleaning the stairs awkward.Otherwise, this vacuum is great value for money.

I am very pleased with the Vac cleaner. it is light and I am able to take it upstairs without too much trouble. I find it gets into more places to clean than my previous cleaner.
Just one thing to add - emptying the cleaner. The main bulk of the dirt comes out quite easily but there is a certain amount that congregates at the sides and that I find difficult to get out from the cleaner. I keep thinking there must be an answer to this without using a blade to ease out the excess dirt which of course takes time to achieve.
To sum up I am delighted that my Partner bought this vac Cleaner for my birthday.

The Vax Mach Air is the best lightweight carpet cleaner I have purchased.I have back problem's,and this cleaner is very manageble to lift around.I have small room's to hoover so lead is adequate,with bigger room's a longer lead would be better.Otherwise a satisfied customer.

I love my new Hoover, very very powerful, and easy to use! The size is perfect for storing it when not in use. Would recommend, this little sweetie! X

Points in favour are:-

4. Handle extends.
5. Smart appearance.

Points against:-
1. Have to buy extension to reach stairs.
2. Lot of agro putting bits together with extension.
3. Nowhere to keep extension.
4. For animal hair the part costs more money.

Conclusion:-
I recommended this cleaner but my daughter was disappointed
as although the price was reasonable she paid out for extras
which made the cost of item high. We also thought it was like
a puzzle putting the extra bits together.
If you could find away of putting the whole thing together and
making the extensions fit higher in the front instead of the
awkward place at the back, it would be super.

I love this Vacum Cleaner probably the best I've had, It's lovely and light to carry upstairs and to move around. My only gripe is that the hose for cleaning stairs etc is not long enough !.

I am very pleased with my new Vax. It's light and easy to handle and very efficient. It also gets into all the corners without any trouble. Emptying and cleaning it is no problem and doesn't take long. The only thing that I can think of that would improve the model is a better clasp for the attachment (spare tool) when not in use, as it keeps falling out of the clasp.

Extremely light and easy to manoeuvre. The extension pipe is short and not particularly easy to use, however the vacuum does not fall over when using it unlike on previous vacuums I have used. The vacuum does tend to suck so hard sometimes especially on hard floors that it is difficult to move, then it suddenly reverts to normal suction and is fine again.

A very lightweight machine which makes it easy for carrying up and down stairs. It has a very strong suction and picks up dirt well - easy to empty and take apart to clean. The only item that needs a re-think is the tool holder on the back - our tools do not stay attached and fall off when you are using the machine or when winding up the flex - not a major problem, just a bit irritating.

We had read the reviews and were confident that this would be a good purchase. We had been using a Henry for some years as I thought this was a high quality domestic product. However my wife had never got to grips with its lack of manouvreability of flexibility:Such as stair access. Firstly, the ability to see what the vax is hoovering up was shocking. We have a clean house mostly with wooden and tiled floors but we really were shocked as to what the machine was picking up: Gathering round the vax like fools to stare in horror at the dirt that had been collected. Most importantly the machine has succeeded in eradicating pet fleas with which we had been blighted for some years: Endless chemicals and pet treatments had failed to deal with the issue. The Vax took about a month. None of us have been bitten or seen a flea in weeks now. Worth the outlay for this alone. Highly reccomended.

I have to give my Vax machine the hightest praise as I find it so efficient and light to handle. I have some wooden floors and find the Vax does a really good job and delighted that it does both wood and carpets. Friends who have tried it agree it does a good job with lots of power. I love this machine as it is so light, i have a bad back so its a real help not to have a heavy machine, this lightness doesnt effect its performance. The way you empty the machine is excellent and very simple, even my husband can manage it!!!
The cord holders could do with being a little stronger as the bottom one on mine snapped quite quickly. My main negative comment is the length and position of the extention hose, it could do with being higher up as i found it tricky to re attach the hose, and would definatley benefit from being longer.

I purchased the Vax for work I run a playgroup in a church hall where storage space is very limited. The Vax is easily stored light enough to be lifted onto a storage shelf. Very powerful suction I am so pleased with it I recommended it to my son who has also purchased a Vax for when he moves into his own house.

My mum first bought this hoover and i tried hers and i love it, i came straight home and got one. It is so light to carry which is the main reason why i bought it. It is really powerful, it picks up lovely no complaints there. The only downpoint is that the cord could be longer apart from that its the best hoover i have ever bought.

I have a Dyson which is an excellent machine but is too heavy for me to haul upstairs. After a lot of research I bought the Vax U91-MA-B Mach Air. This machine is a delight to use and is so light I can carry it with only one hand. The suction is really powerful for such a small vac and it cleans right to the edges. Most definitely one of my best purchases and I would strongly recommend it.

Bought a new hover because the last one finally gave up the ghost....The new Vax hover we bought is just fantastic...to say it cleans and hovers well is an understatement. I thought with the old hover the place looked clean but when you use this hover wow it gets right into the pile and drags all the old dust and bits out of the carpets making them look new again. As for the cost it's half as cheap as a Dyson and just as good if not better...Buy one and see for yourself..you will be delighted.

For a smaller, than the usual vacumn cleaner, this one certainly does an excellent job of removing dirt from floors and carpets - the proof being in the waste canister. I was a little 'nervous' of getting this model at first, but I have been very impressed and compared to other, more expensive hoovers, this Vax is extremely impressive and does the job, just as effectively, as the more expensive machines. I would recommend this make and model.

A light compact very efficient cleaner

Love it, I don't have a lot of carpet but works really well and easy to manage.

I think this machine is wonderful, it is easy to use and very light to push around. The only disappointment I have with it is that it doesn't have a small head attachment for using on my stairs. I know you have the better machine but it defeated the object of using a light machine because the other one was heavier and when you are pensioners you find it difficult to lift up the stairs. I would recommend this machine to other people and I have already told friends about it.

Excellent. Very well thought out. Much better than the Dyson DC04 it replaced (even when the Dyson was new). Great suction, not too heavy, easy to use. Recommend it. Only improvements I can think of are: the dust box gets clogged at the top - could the space between the cyclone cone and the edge of the dust box be made wider so that it doesn't clog so easily. The button on the hose attachment was pressed in for some use and then noticed it wasn't popping out so easily to catch. Other than these, relatively minor comments, I am delighted with it and happy to recommend Vax.

A first class product - I am an arthritic pensioner and find most vacuum cleaners too heavy, especially upright models. I have found this model, light, easy to carry upstairs and very efficient. I would happily recommend this model to anyone who is elderly, a little infirm, but likes to keep their home clean and tidy.

I am so pleased with my Vax, it is easy & light and picks up a treat and i would definitely recommend it. Also it is so easy to empty. My daughter bought one so i decided to give it a go. I am so glad i did.

I have found the Vax has really good suction on carpets and is easy to clean and manouvre. I dont think it is as good on laminate floor and i find it better to sweep than hoover on my laminate. This is a bit disappointing. Overall i like the design, the size, the instructions have been clear and it is easy to clean and use.

Easy to use and handle due to its light weight, ideal when changing from one floor to another.

As a senior citizen I needed a product light in weight and easy to lift upstairs and around my house. It took me some time to figure out how to take it apart and put back together for the purpose of emptying etc. but am now pleased I chose a Vax. It is efficient and user friendly.

We think it's fantastic. We bought it as a backup, primarily because its compact dimensions made it easy to carry up and down stairs in a old three-storey house.
I tested it head-to-head against a larger cleaner (from someone else who's very proud of their technology!) on a rug covered in dog hairs - suffice it to say that the other vacuum cleaner is heading to eBay. We don't need any other cleaner. Please thank the designer/design team on our behalf - genius!

Its light powerful and easy to use i love it, great machine

I purchased a Vax Mach Air in December 2010. Since then I have found the Mach Air to be the best Hoover i have ever purchased. It picks up any bits from the carpet with ease and is very lightweight to carry or push around. I certainly would not buy any other Hoover than Vax after purchasing the Mach Air.

I am very happy with the vax that I purchased. It is light weight for moving up and down stairs. Great for getting under certain pieces of furnature and generally very good.

Previous to buying the Vax U91-MA-B Mach Air we had 2 Dyson vacs but we were not satisfied with either. This little Vax cleaner is by far a better performer and a lot lighter and simple to operate.

I am enjoying using the Vax Lightweight with it's easy , no fuss , uncomplicated cleaning power. I do find it could do with a 'less' power adjustment, as on some carpets I find it quite difficult to push. A great little cleaner, which I hope to get many years service from. To be recommended.

I love my new hoover its so light to use and picks up well, its very easy to clean out the hair from around the brushes, this is important to me as my daughter has very long hair.

This small VAX cleaner is ideal for someone like me with a small flat,its so light to carry around,and it's very powerful for it's size,I must say I'm very pleased with it.

This hoover is light but powerful would recommend to buy and is cheaper then other brands but is just as good.

I am very pleased with this machine. On carpets and hard floors it does an excellent job and is light to use. I am still getting used to the telescopic extension tube (it being quite long and rigid), but it, too, does its job well.

I can honestly say this is the best cleaner I have ever used! Easy to clean the machine itself and the suction power is great. As I have some new carpet I was doubtful how the cleaner would cope but it picks up the excess very well indeed. I have a wool rug, which sheds a lot but this too is satisfactorily coped with by this model.Don't know why I ever used any other model. The only regret is this type does not have the extension tube, but, hey, we manage!

My new Vax is a real joy to use, I cant believe just how much I now look forward to vacuuming my 2 bedroom bungalow. My carpets look so much cleaner due to the efficient suction, which is great. It certainly lives up to expectations. Compared to my last vacuum my new vax is so much lighter & due to its size I find it so easy to manoeuvre, its also surprisingly sturdy & not noisy. I wouldn't change it if I was offered twice what I paid for it.

I do however have one regret because I live in a bungalow I didnt feel the need to buy the other Mach Air you do for stairs & I now feel that the extra long hose would have been more beneficial to me rather than using the pull out handle. Nevertheless Its one of my best buys.

I would also like to say thank you to one of your customer services personnel. I phoned with a querie about one of your other vacuums, having spoken to your adviser I realised I may have chosen one that was not suitable for my needs, he was very patient & explained the various specifications for approx 3 of your machines the Mach Air being one of them. He told me had that paticular vacuum & how pleased he was with it. I went to my local Currys where I was able to 'test drive the Mach Air' along with a Dyson 'yuk' didnt like the dyson I found it awkward & heavy.
I unfortunatley dont rememmber the name of your adviser I only know he said he was about 6ft tall.

Absolutely delighted with this vacuum cleaner. Picks up really well, light and very easy to manoeuvre. The head is low enough to fit under the edge of furniture. I love the fact you can easily unclog the bruses, I have two long haired dogs! I would recommend this to everyone and it is far superior to the Dyson that I had.

Light and easy to use.

Being lightweight it is much easier to use and to carry around. The suction is great and the attachments easy to use. The only "fault" is the rim around the top of the handle which digs into ones hand as you are using it. A smooth top would be more comfortable. Overall I am very happy with my new vacuum cleaner.

Good suction, light, wheels leave marks in deep pile carpet when hoovering forward. Hose and power cable could be a bit longer, but given the size of the cleaner, its a compromise. But all other respects a great vacuum cleaner. Very pleased.

Simple to use, very lightweight, easier to empty and keep clean than the Mach 7 excellent performance and great suction power. For a small machine this does all you want and more - size is not important this cleaner can more than hold its own with the Mach 7 and that I considered a great machine.

Since I bought this vax I have not looked back, it does a wonderful job and also it is easy to empty. Also to add as it is so light it is easy to carry up and down stairs.

Absolutely amazing, so much so that people have actually borrowed it. I'm 24 so cleaning isn't exactly a high priority but it's fun becuase it is so effective and satisfying!

Absolutely brilliant. Its become a pleasure instead of a chore and takes half the time my old vacuum cleaner took. The only thing I would say is that the standard hose with the attachments is not quite so easy as the hose is not quite long enough. Other than that couldn't be happier.

Very light efficient machine - especially good at picking up pet hair. My carpets are far cleaner than my old Dyson acheived. The hose is a little too short but an extension is avaialbale. The brush tool is forever falling out of its holder. But overall I am very pleased and feel it is excellent value.

Nice and light. Not bulky so don't take up lots of space. Can't make the suction lighter so it do's tend to suck on certain flooring too hard and lift.

So far been excellent. Very good suction power, can feel it gripping the carpet and sucks up even the most demanding of cat hairs and my own too...whats left of them ;) Very light to carry and adjustable handle makes moving while hoovering, very easy. Gets under low furniture like beds ok and easy to move. Attachments are ok but find it a bit awkward the position at the base where the things attach. Still fine but only a minor grumble. Have found it easy to clean and put back together again, very neat. So far very pleased and the 6 year guarantee is a great safety net, should you feel something is too good to be true. So far this is, really enjoying using it, thanks.

Absolutely brilliant machine. Very light to carry with superb suction when in use. Will probably buy a second machine so I have one both upstairs and downstairs. I have used Dysons for years but see no good reason to pay their prices again. The only worry I have is that the "life" of the machine will be shorter than Dysons but will have to wait and see. I have taken up the 6 year guarantee so should be fine.

Really impressed with the cleaning ability of this lightweight vacuum cleaner. It really sucks and has cleaned my carpets much better than previous cylinder cleaner. I am not impressed with the hose attachments. They are of a poorer quality than previous model. Also I would prefer to be able to attach the brush/nozzles etc to the hose without having to include the extension handle. This would improve cleaning of furniture, stairs, behind the toilet etc. The extension handle is too long and the nozzle brush is too soft. So I love the vacuum cleaner but will be keeping my old cylinder cleaner to do the nooks and crannies!!

This is a great product, it's small, light and powerful. The height adjustable handle means anybody can use it easily. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. If i could score this out of ten, it would be ten!

The suction is very good and the bag less container easy to empty. The power lead could be longer. The hose would be better without the bottom clip so it could be used without the handle. The tools are difficult to stay on the cleaner.

As i am old age pensioner the Vax is ideal, I can carry the machine up stairs because it is so light. I had a Dyson but this collects more dust and the carpets looks like they have been cleaned.

Lives up to Vax claim "the lightest full size multi cyclonic upright in the world", as I am disabled it is a joy to use being a very light machine & works on all floors, unlike my previous vacuum.

What a great little compact vacuum! So powerful - it knocks spots off my other vacs - and I have a few! Kirby, Sebo , Electrolux, Panasonic - it's not a fetish but I simply haven't found the 'right'one - until now. Even after using these - especially the Sebo - just a quick wizz round and there's still dirt to be picked up by the vax - what a pity I didn't find it sooner. Yes the hose is shorter but I knew that before I bought it and you can get an extension if needed - as for the six year guarantee - it's the icing on the cake .

Hi i don't normally fill out online reviews But in this caes i will as the vax i brought my mum has tranformed my mothers life in that she can now do her own cleaning and thus giving her more independence after her hip op as her old dyson is to mutch to lift and push around unlike the new vax, more zoom and less gloom.

I absolutely love it. It does everything I would want from a cleaner. It is light to carry up and down stairs and has great suction power. I have recommended it to loads of people because so many older people find normal cleaners too heavy to carry and even to use.

It is such a reasonable price when compared with other similar cleaners and when my job was made redundant I was given John Lewis vouchers and I used them to buy the very thing I needed - a new cleaner.

The tools are good too although I sometimes struggle a bit to get the container back together after I have emptied it. My husband is now expert at this.

This is an excellent neat sturdy little machine with plenty of suction power but also most importantly to me, lightweight. It runs rings around any of the upright machines that I have tried over the years from Dyson, Morphy Richards and Hoover. It may be small but its size is misleading. One of the best vacuum cleaners that Vax has brought out. I am retired and partially disabled and find vacuuming painful and a real chore, with the weight of other uprights, of various makes that I have bought and tried out. This little Vax machine is so light to use that I find cleaning definitely
less of a chore and not so painful. I use to dread vacuuming as the other machines were so heavy to use or lift or generally awkward to use but with this Vax I am really impressed. I can now help to keep my own home properly cleaned without relying totally on my cleaning lady to do the thorough vacuuming once a week. In fact I have decided to sell all my other vacuum cleaners and just stick to the Vax Mach Air U91-MA-B and the Mach Air Reach.
It's not a 100% perfect machine as there could be some small improvements like the 3 in 1 tool that does tend to be rather awkward to 'assemble' and also the cleaner handle that acts as the extension wand could do with being a little longer for taller people. It is adjustable but it still could be made longer as I, being 5 foot 7 inches, find I have to bend forward to use the tools when attached even with the wand handle/wand fully extended. Either an extra extension wand would be handy or the existing one made longer. Fortunately for me one of the wands off one of my older vacuum cleaners fits onto the end of the wand so that difficulty is over for me.
I first saw this Vax cleaner, on sale, in our local Tesco so had the chance to 'take it to bits' and examine it thoroughtly before purchasing it directly from Vax at a cheaper price. I was so pleased with this machine, after I used it a few times, that I phoned Vax and then purchased the Mach Air Reach which has the extension hose that stores in clips on the side of the cleaner. I also ordered an extension hose for the U91-MA-B Mach Air (Which I am reviewing) which I just leave attached to the existing hose and leave coiled over the body of the machine. Vax Customer service, by the way, was excellent and also very friendly when I phoned them to order the Mach Air Reach. They weren't there just to take the order and ring off but took time to answer questions that I had before purchasing the Mach Air Reach.

The 3 in 1 tool does need redesigning as the plastic button to release the 2nd '2 in 1' tool from the crevice tool is quite hard to press in for someone that has limited strength and even someone that has average strength, so my husband tells me, and then after some use the button tends to warp inward so that the 2 in 1 tool slides up the crevice tool when in use. One has to reach inside the crevice tool to push it out again. Another problem for people that find bending awkward is the hose connection which is at the very bottom of the machine but as the machine is fairly light one can lift it onto a higher surface to take out the hose and attach it to either that handle cum extension wand or tools.The hose is fairly easy to detach and attach by a easy to use clip mechanism.
Another 'little niggle' I found, is that the suction is so very good that I find that the vacuum head tends to 'stick' to mats/runners but I found a little cure for that: as the front plastic guard comes off for cleaning the brush bar, by 2 simple clips, I was able to insert a thin narrow bit of card in the centre of the cover when reassembling and that reduces the suction just enough to stop the machine 'sticking' to mats. This does not interfere in anyway with the cleaning capacity or the operation of the machine. I have mentioned this to Vax Customer services. I like the fact that if the brush bar catches on anything that jams it it powers off automatically and a flashing indicator light lets you know that there is a problem. It is a simple matter to extract or clean any foreign body from the bar and press the reset button on the side of the machine to restore brush bar function again. The brush bar can also be turned off manually for cleaning hard floors, if necessary, by a switch on the machine which is located next to the on/off switch located ontop of the dirt bin/filter assembly. The dirt bin is has a small capacity but I find it quite sufficient for normal cleaning and I have a large house with large area of ground floor so it only needs emptying after each cleaning session and its also very easy to empty by a simple button at the bottom of the bin. The entire bin/filter assembly can be dismantled for thorough cleaning and likewise I find that easy to do and to reassemble. The Filters are easy to extract and the top filter can be washed but one must not wash the lower motor filter, just tap it against the side of a rubbish bin.
Replacement filters can be ordered from Vax, along with extension hose and other parts. I have ordered and received a spare set of filters and again delivery time was excellent as it was when I ordered the second Mach Air machine. Ordered one day and it arrived by courier by the 3rd day.
As stated before I was so pleased with this machine, in general, that I purchased the Mach Air Reach, which has the longer extra extension hose and longer mains lead, for the second floor of our house. Both of these machines have also got the approval of my husband also my cleaning lady.
Overall this is an excellent machine and I highly recommend it especially if one is elderly or with limited strength and movement. One can order the machines on-line but I recommend that a prospective purchaser phone Vax order line as a better deal can sometimes be obtained.

I couldnt believe how light the cleaner was and how powerful it is at picking up dust even pet hair. the telescopic handle comes in handy as both my husband and i are of different heights. the tools that come with the cleaner are useful too. my only dislike about this product is the length of the hose for the additional tools is not long enough struggled to get stairs and curtains cleaned. All in all a lghtweight cleaner that is just as powerful if not more than other leading brands.

I am delighted with this purchase. I bought it as a temporary replacement for a Dyson, which was awaiting repair, intending on passing it on to a relative. I am so impressed with every aspect of it - power, agility, ease of use - that I no longer use the Dyson.

My only niggle is the original hose was not long enough to tackle my stairs. So I invested in the extension cable and stair attachment.

I find this fiddly to use as it still isn't long enough so I'm forced to hold the machine in one hand and the extension cable in the other, which can be tricky.

To be fair, I do have a lot of stairs!

I also think the stair tool somehow diffuses the power of the machine as the suction does not appear as great.

Had I known the Vax was going to be so impressive I would have paid more for an even better model.

In conclusion, very very satisfied and I'd highly recommend a Vax.

This is the third vacuum my wife and I have purchased over the last couple of years. We have tried to get one that is light and easy to use as we both have health issues which makes it difficult to push the heavier machines. Well what can I say, we now race each other to the cupboard to get the Vax out to see who is going to do the vacuuming first. This machine is lightweight and so easy to use it's a gem. Even emptying it is sooooo easy. Thank you Vax for making life that bit easier for us.

As a very old senior I have found it a very light and easy to handle vacuum cleaner with good pick up. The break down of the body for cleaning is first class. MY only fault to present is the catch 2 inches from the electric plug is far to tight to clip onto the cable for retension and leaves the plug swinging when not in use.

Light weight and easy to use, no more struggling up the stairs with it. Cleans well, picks up a treat. Easy to clean/empty. What more can I say, the best vacum cleaner I have owned.

I bought this Vax carpet cleaner because it was advertised as being small, lightweight and powerful. It ticks all these boxes but my wife and I find the tools difficult to remove from the machine and use. We have found it much easier to use our old Henry for the stairs, sofa etc.

This is the first VAX vacuum cleaner we have purchased; we own a VAX carpet shampooer that we have had for many years and has given excellent service. Our first impression of the U91 is quite positive. Obvious benefits are its light weight and powerful action; it is an effective upright cleaner, and does a particularly good job on short-pile carpets, notably along skirting boards (it cleans tight up to the edge of the carpet). The main disadvantages are: the electrical flex is too short and requires frequent changing to a different socket; the built-in hose is too short for routine use of hand tools; the hand-tools that were supplied appear to be cheap and not particularly effective. We have purchased the extending flexible hose (at an additional cost of nearly 20 pounds!!) and it works OK but is fiddly to use.
In summary, the U-91 appears to be a very good lightweight upright vacuum cleaner, and as this is the reason we bought it, we don't have any complaints, except for the short flex. We are not yet convinced that it is among the best appliances when it comes to using the U-91 with its inbuilt hose and accessories. Our previous Dyson cleaner, though very heavy, worked well with hand tools.
The 6-year warranty that accompanies the U-91 was attractive at the time of purchase.

I love this hover, i'v had numerous hovers in the last few years which all break on me, this is fab, excellent suction, easy to use and manover, I would definately reccomend, espacially as there is a 6 year guarrentee.

The best cleaner I have had for weight. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for ease of movement and powerful suction. Has made housework a pleasure.

I am really enjoying using new hoover. It is light to carry, I can lower it to hoover below furniture and it is easy to empty and generally care for. If I have any criticism to make, it's in the fact that I can't tilt it upwards when changing level i.e. to hoover a rug with fringes. I can pull it backwards to change surfaces, but not forwards. Nonetheless, I enjoy using my new machine.

Lives up to its reputation as light and easy to use. Capacity could be greater and you have to empty the machine frequently. Very happy overall.

I purchased the Mach Air cleaner to keep upstairs as a bedroom cleaner,I am more than pleased with it. For its size it has very powerful suction, and being so light in weight I have no problem using it to go over the mattresses once a week. I am delighted with my purchase.

The Mach air is the best vacume cleaner i have ever bought,no other product to match this vax you do get what you see on the box it is honestly very light it just breezes over lamented and carpeted floors.I would recommend this vax to all my friends.Would be fantastic if it would also be able to clean upholstery and carpets,I hav honestly no bad comments to say about this product

I absolutely love it. It's lightweight, the suction is brilliant. Have to empty it quite often as my carpets are reasonably new, but that doesn't bother me - I just marvel at how much it picks up.

I am very pleased with my new Vax. As my wife and I are now getting old,it is agreat advantage to have a light-weight sweeper for the first time and to find that it cleans carpets even better than the previous heavy-weight machines. As it is easy to handle, we find that we use it more often and in more places than before. We like being able to turn off the brushes at the touch of a switch when going over hard floors.

I like the ease of disassembly for cleaning, but regret that it has to be emptied so often and I find difficulty in removing dust lodged at the top of the cannister without complete dis-assembly. I would have liked the mains cable to be just one metre longer.

I am recommending this Vax to all my friends.

We have now had some time to get used to our new vacuum cleaner the Vax U91-MA-B Mach Air. When we where looking for a new vacuum cleaner the Vax range was not on our agenda (we set out to purchase a Dyson), but have been most impressed with our new cleaner, it is a nice light weight machine that punches well above its weight, easy to operate, clean and carry. We would recommend it to anyone.

This Vax is a very nice machine, very light to use, picks up dirt well, the only problem is that the mains lead is much too short so unless I use an extension cable [too much effort] I have to move the plug from room to room as it does'nt even stretch the lengh of my lounge, give it a longer lead and it would be perfect

Fantastic product, great for getting right into areas other vacs won't go near. Slightly longer cable would avoid changing electric sockets as often in largish rooms.

We thought the service from Vax was top class, our new Vax is very good but could do with having a height adjustment put on it.

I am very pleased with my Vax U91-MA-B. It is without doubt the most efficient and easily serviceable Bag-less Vacuum cleaner I have been able to afford. It is slightly awkward to use on the stairs, for me anyway, but not a major problem. If the brush compartment could in some way be designed to be detached, I think that the machine would become more Stair friendly.

Very happy with the performance of the machine. The first unit had a problem with the wheels but the response by the service team was excellent with a new machine being provide by return.

Since my repair I have found my vacuum cleaner excellent. Light to use which i need. O<b></b>nly one problem is the tube when vacuuming the stairs.

I have found this a very easy and convenient machine to use. It is also fairly light to handle and it is a very simple process to empty the drum. It is also very efficient. I would have liked the cable to have been a little bit longer as I have some larger rooms. I would recommend it to friends and family.

I love this model's compact size, which enables me to store it easily in the understairs cupboard. Its light weight (just over 3.5 kg) makes it easy to use and carry up and down stairs, and the suction is far better than my larger and heavier upright cleaner. Full marks for a super machine.

Love the cleaner. Lighter and much more efficient than my old one. It cleans under some furniture as it is a small neat shape.

Very light and powerful. It cleans right up to the edge and gets in between things. Best hoover we have ever owned. Only poor point is that the mains cable is to short.

I must say, one is very please with the U91MA-B Mach Air Vax vacuum cleaner that I purchased. The product itself, is very light in weight term, effective in picking up dirt and Vax customer helpline is great as well (although, it would be nice if the number was a O800 one). The 6 years warranty is a big plus as well. I didn't really find any faults with the product. It does what it said on the tin and very much easy to operate, clean and reset. I already recommend the U91-MA-B to family and friends. Sometimes, we get carried away by big name products (Dyson anyone?), but VAX in my humble view, is raising standards, making affordable, effective vacuum cleaners with products that speaks for itself and does what it says on the tin....as opposed to marketing hype.

Great machine. The hose is too short / lacks an extension included in the pack in store. Very pleased with purchase and would recommend to others.

The Vax was simple to put together out of the carton with the clear instructions. It is a joy to use after my heavy old Hoover now that I am not quite as young as I used to be! It is light and easy to manoevre and picks up an amazing amount of dust and dog hair from my two collies. It is quieter than most vacuum cleaners and doesn't have my dogs running for cover as before. I like the adjustable handle which makes it suitable for myself and my 6'2" hubby. Emptying the container, while having to be done every use, is simplicity itself - a quick and easy operation - and no more bags to buy. The container is easy to wash to counteract the 'doggy' smell, too.
I am really pleased with this vacuum - but - I would have preferred the cable to be 3-4 feet longer; having said that, swapping sockets is not a big deal. I didn't need the longer hose of the Mach Air Reach, living in a bungalow. Anyone who is not too good at bending over may find the hose connection, at the bottom of the cleaner, a little difficult. My main gripe is that the multi-tool sits on its bracket while 'parked' but insists on falling off whenever the vacuum is in use. Also I have been trying to buy a turbo tool for it, but the only ones available at the moment (January 2011)are refurbished.
On the whole, a brilliant product!

The Vax works fine and picks up very well leaving the carpet fluffed up. The only problem is it has to be emptied several times in one session,

We are very pleased as it is light and can be moved around easily, which nis important to us as we both have back pain problems. It also has better suction than the Dyson we have. Only one irritating fault which is that the tool holder does not hold the tools very well and they are constantly falling out.

my wife and I find the Vax very easy to useand the 2 settings we find really useful as we have wood, tiles and carpet on our floors

This vaccum cleaner is fantastic, I could not be more happy with it. Fantastic suction, its picked up all kinds of stuff that my old vaccum cleaner couldn't touch. Its so lightweight and with the extendable handle too, it couldn't be more perfect for me. It fits tidily into my cupboard without taking up too much space. This is a very lightweight machine but has excellent suction power. The advantages besides it's weight and suction power are the design which means it does not take up a lot of space and can be stored away easily. Just two words to say about it, lightweight, brilliant.

This machine is very easy to use as it is lightweight, easy to carry upstairs, simple to empty and very quiet when in use. the last vax we had was heavy, noisy and not that easy to empty. The Mac-air is the best Vac that we have had and even beats the Dyson we had in the past.

I have now had my Vax for a few weeks and am absolutely delighted both with its performance and ease of use. Considering its comparatively small size it is powerful and because it is so light in weight, a pleasure to use.

Love my new vax. I have had a Dyson in the past but prefer the Vax. Having a back problem, I find the Vax really light and easy to use, it also reaches to the edges of the carpet. I thought it may be difficult having to carry it upstairs, but it's so light it isn't a problem. The only negative point being that the hose is at the bottom of the hoover so has to 'bend' for the attachments to be used, just wondering if this will put strain on the hose and cause it to split? Would definately recommend it.

Easy to use and so much lighter than our previous machine. It is good to be able to see clearly how much dust has been collected, making it easy to know when to empty the dirt container. Excellent at edges. Light to carry up and down stairs.

The Mach air was a replacement for an older vax which had broken. I was a little surprised when it arrived as it was so much smaller than the previous cleaner. However, it's brilliant so light and easy to use but even more powerful than my previous cleaner which was very heavy. I love my new vax and the 6 year guarantee which comes with it.

I really like it, its nice and light and seams to still have the same cleaning powers as the dyson i had (that was extreemly heavy and pipes etc very stiff)there is one thing however that not quite right the tools wont stay clipped to the machine thats a bit anoying also there is one tool that i like that the vax doesn't have. But appart from this its really good.

The machine is so light and has fantastic suction. I like the fact that the front is so low that it goes under the furniture. A couple of small niggles, I would have liked the extension hose to be longer as I struggle to do the stairs and have to carry the machine up with me. Secondly the hinges on the emptying flap could have been made stronger rather than of plastic as I am concerned they will break. Otherwise I like the machine a lot and have recommended it to others.

It is very rare these days that you can buy a new product that is not stacked in confusing and often wasteful technology that does not make the task any easier but just costs a lot more to purchase. I am delighted to say that the new Vax is a minor miracle, being light and compact, easy to use, brilliantly well designed and manufactured and cleans in an effortless and efficient way. Well done Vax - it surely can't get much easier or better than this.

Very light & easy to use. Powerful suction, in fact on a kitchen type carpet it clings to the floor making it hard to move,even with the brushbar off. Attachment of accessories relatively easy,but I hope the flexible hose will stand the continuous removal & reconnection. Overall, very satisfied.

It's a great little machine! Very light to use and picks up well, including cat hair. However, there is a big downside to it, as the hose pipe is far too short and hardly reaches any distance at all.

This is a lovely lightweight vacuum cleaner, it is easy to empty and maintain. The extension hose is very good design how it folds and stores away, however, I don't find that once it is at its full length that it is easy to vacuum things like tops of settees, and chairs. It is difficult to get the right angle to clean the tops of these items as the cleaner tips up. Overall, I am very pleased with this, my mum and my sister have one and love theirs as well.

A great upright vacuum, very lightweight bought this for my elderly mum who finds uprights to heavy to use. Fantastic suction picks up dogs hair so easily only one draw back suction is so good it is difficult to push when using it on a hard floor. The guarantee is for 6 years which is a bonus. Delighted with it would thoroughly recommend this. Have bought a Dyson in the past 'what a load of rubbish' will never buy Dyson again, overpriced and over rated.

This is our first Vax machine and we are very pleased with it. The machine is light, easy to handle, small enough to easily pack away in our small house, yet extremely powerful and efficient at cleaning carpets, upholstery and general dusting of window ledges, shelves etc.

Not as expensive as similar machines, it exceeds the cleaning ability of any other vacuum cleaner we have used - including Miele and Dyson. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality machine at a very reasonable price.

Is a good vacuum cleaner, fairly manoueverable and lightweight with some really good suction. The only slight downside are the handtools which are a little limited and so there's not really a tool to help do things like stairs and sofas. But overall a pretty decent buy.

I was torn between another Dyson and trying something different as there were some things about my Dyson that used to irritate me. I researched, saw the Mach Air, was impressed with the price and all the reviews about it so decided to buy it. It is a brilliant hoover. Well worth the money. Light but the suction is unbelievable. I find I struggle with mats as it lifts them off the floor! I found there were a couple of drawbacks with it tho. If you have a large house forget it as you would be constantly unplugging it to move around as the lead isnt long enough and the hose is awkward as it protrudes from the bottom of the hoover making hoovering high up awkward.

Bought for my wife , Due to her not having a great deal of strength in her wrists. We tried various other models,for their weight,and found none more suitable than the above model. Up to now it performs to our satisfaction. It performs well,construction adequate,tool holder could be more solid,i.e stronger grip,power is excellent. Therefore we would recommend it. G Torrance.

We bought the Mach Air as a replacement to our present Vax as my wife was impressed with how light it was when she picked it up in a store. We have been very impressed with the machine as we were a bit worried it would not be as good as our last Vax, with it being smaller. but we can honestly say it is a wonderfull small machine that does the job as good as our last Vax, which we still have, and is a lot easier to handle. Quite happy so far with the machine. Have purchased this model for my elderly parents who needed a light but powerful motor. The stripping down for cleaning / emptying purposes is not too difficult for them to achieve. When operating, the instructions are not very clear as to when to switch on the 'brushes' to vaccum or not.

This is a well designed product that is lightweight and easy to use. In common with other reviewers, I would say that the cord is a little short and the detachable hose is a bit too springy so high reach cleaning requires holding the machine off the ground. The best hoover i have ever owned ! i would highly recommend this hoover not only does it pick up brilliantly it is so light to carry around the house, and vax customer service has been outstanding.

As a vacuum cleaner I found it to be excellent in collecting dirt,fluff and dust. Our previous vacuum cleaner (Vax - different type) was brilliant but the U91 collects even more dust and fluff - and we thought our house was clean! Easy to empty, simple to clean and use. My only adverse comment is when trying to vacuum the car the extended pipe was not long enough and it kept trying to "pull back" when getting to clean the inside of the car. My daughter by chance has the same machine!

Excellent only two problems cord could be longer and stair attachment is a bit tricky to use. Other than that love it.

This is the first bagless vacuum I have owned. As I have down-sized to a bungalow, this little vacuum cleaner is just about perfect for the job. It is very light and very easy to move around effortlessly (important as one gets older!). The suction of Mach Air is fierce enough to suck up the cat fur and very nearly the cat.

A couple of very minor niggles - would prefer the extendable hose to be more extendable - though I think the more expensive model has an attachment, but to have the existing hose more manoeverable and longer would be a bonus. Also for the cable to be a bit longer would save bending down to go from one power point to another (another plus as one gets older).

Overall though I would thorouhgly recommend this little beauty.

Very pleased, the hoover is very light and easy to use. I can easly get in to small ackward areas. It is easy to maintain on emptying the dust container it is so simple to give the filters a shake to keep them clean. Very good instruction manual easy to follow.

Really impressed it's so light to use easy to empty picks up very efficiently in fact the first time that I used it after using my old cleaner I couldn't believe that I had to empty it I knew the old one was gettng past it's best but wow. Also it is fun to look at orange and black with it's green light, so I've called it Doris and SHE lives under the stairs.

We owned a much heavier vacuum cleaner,8.5 kg, before purchasing this lightweight Vax. The fact that this Vax cleaner only weighs 4.9 kg does not detract from its cleaning power. Its much more manageable around the house, especially carrying up stairs and cleans as well if not better than our previous cleaner. It is also extremely easy to empty and keep clean. Would not hesitate to recommend this vacuum cleaner.

Very light and stylish, easy to hold, the brilliant part about this Hoover is that it allows you to use it on carpet and with a click of a button on wooden laminate flooring to. I have now been using my Vax machine for a month and can find NOTHING wrong with it!
It is comparatively quiet, very good suction on ANY floor, easy to fit tools and very easy to carry around. I do have mild arthritis in my hands and wrists but have no trouble carrying it up the stairs.
I would recommend this machine to anyone.

I am very pleased with my vacum it is light and easy to use picks up my little dogs hairs and is nice and quiet when in use it is also very good for tight areas being small and versatile.I have purchased many vacums over the years some good some not so good but so far this has been my best buy and it is so easy to empty and no costly bags involved i am very happy with it.I dont know how good it would be over a large area as i live in a small Bungalow and being an oap and with health problems it has been a godsend as most vacums are very hard to push so all round a good buy.

My wife finds her new Vax Mach hoover much better to use,(lighter and just as efficient), compared to her previous Hoover!! The only minor fault is that the length of cable cord could do with being a little bit longer. Easy to dismantle for cleaning purposes and much easier when hoovering the stairs. This product, I would thoroughly recommend!!!

I have recently bought this vacuum cleaner as a second one for the home as my main vacuum is a Dyson. The reason I bought the cleaner was to use it upstairs only and keep it there - my Dyson was far to heavy to keep carrying upstairs. I am amazed at the suction and ease of use of this vacuum cleaner - with it having a smaller head than other cleaners I can use it in places where my Dyson will not fit.

Needless to say the VAX U91-MA-B Mach Air cleaner is now being used upstairs and downstairs - it has replaced my Dyson - I cannot get over how light and versatile it is and yet extremely powerful.

It is extremely powerful and light. Easy to use. The only drawback I have is when using the hose it is very restricted because of the design. But overall I am pleased.

I like it very much; it's extremely lightweight and manoveurable,and has much greater suction than previous machines I've had. It's also very easy to empty which is a great advantage. Minus points are that the onboard tools do tend to fall off and I do worry that the bodywork could be easily damaged since the construction is quite flimsy.

This is probably the best vacuum we have bought. With the flat base design you are able to get very close to the skirting boards and under all the furniture and television unit.

It is a very good machine, light easy to use and very efficient how ever the tools provided are not of the same standard and make cleaning the stairs etc awkward to say the least.

I'd road tested other brands but I prefered this one, price was a factor but it was the weight factor, that sold it, aswell as the on board tools. And Why do you need a oversized waste cylinder, all you are doing is pushing extra weight around.

WOW - Size does matter - It's petite size / weight enable me to hang it on the back of my "under stairs" door leaving the floor for my girls numerous shoes.

I can whip the VAX around my house with ease. My children even "fight" to vacumn their rooms.

To be even more thrifty buy the "extension hose" and you can clean your stairs carpet, instead of buying the next model up and paying an additional

The Mach Air is lightweight, easy to move, picks up dirt/dust well. easy to empty. However long hairs and threads get caught up in the brushes and they are hard to remove. The electrical lead is not very long but to buy one with a longer one is more costly than it should be. Overall we are pleased with the product and can recommend it.

The Vax U91-MA-B-Mach Air is fantastic! It is simple to use, versatile and its lightness means its easy to carry up and down the stairs. It is quick and easy to empty, much better that changing the bags on my old Hoover.

My only slightly negative comment would be that the hose is no where near long enough. It makes it difficult to hoover the stairs, etc. However, you can buy an extra long hose from Vax, which will rectify that.

Excellent as an upright hoover, picks up dog hairs really well, but mains lead is not long enough. Hose is not lond enough and awkward to use especially on stairs. Will use mainly as an upright as it is light easy to push and does pick up well.

I have had this vax a few weeks now and can honestly say it's the best hoover I have had. I read the reviews before buying this hoover and agree with most of the reviews, this is an excellent hoover let down only by a couple of design problems. The lead could be a bit longer and wrap up better and the wheel at the back is a little stiff. These are only minor niggles and I would totally reccomend this hoover.

Love this cleaner it is so light and really powerful, wish we had bought this brand years ago instead of all the heavy Dysons and Sebo cleaners. Does a fantastic job on every floor surface, only criticism is the tools do not keep on the cleaner, drop of when using.

The machine is lightweight, easy to manoeuvre, picks up very well and is very easy to empty.

I like the way it accesses previously unreachable areas and also the ability to switch off brush rotation when using on smooth floors such as Amtico.

The only negative I can find is awkwardness in reaching some areas with the flexible hose and attachments i.e. having to physically lift the machine.

This vac machine is very light to use which is what i wanted. However the hose is not very long - think i would have prefered no hose at all as i have not been used to any attachments previously using a Oreck machine. I have never used a no bag cleaner before and find this a benefit. All in all I am very plesed with my new vac and would recommend it to everyone who wants a new cleaner.

I am very pleased with the Vax U91-MA-B Mach Air so far. My last two vacuum cleaners have been very disappointing - my last Hoover, for example, only lasted 18 months before a repairer told me it wasn't worth repairing. I was impressed with the fact that there was a 6 year guarantee with Vax which I felt would see me through any difficulties. The machine itself seems very efficient and, again, a big plus as far as I am concerned, is the weight. It is very light to move round the house.

The Mach Air is seems to be an efficient cleaner, conveniently lightweight and flat enough to clean under sofas without needing to use attachments. The attachments are not particularly easy to use and do not have sufficient extension. The electrical lead would also benefit from being two or three metres longer.

I have found my new Vax a superb vacum cleaner, its lovely and light you can carry it around without any effort. It picks up just lovely as well. Firstly the 6 year guarantee inspires confidence in the product the nice quality style and finish.The U91 really does pick up every thing with its very powerful suction and efficient brushing system which is required for pet hairsThe one thing that lets many carpet cleaners down is the flexible hose with the brush at the end and having to push and pull across the stairs,with the U91 you pick it up and use is as if cleaning the carpet as usual due to its lightness.Having owned carpet cleaners over 30 years this is the lightest and most efficient my wife and I have owned.If I might add when new the handle does have a tendency to lift the body of the cleaner so it is not in contact with the carpet so I directed a little WD40 on the parts causing the problem and it was ok.The reason I mentioned it was that my wife was getting a little annoyed with it untill the WD came out.I am sure our U91 has worn in now.One more thing is the dust collection system is very easy to opperate by just standing over our small bin in the kitchen and emptying it straight into it without going outside and having the wind blow dust everywhere.5 stare rating.Paul

The machine is very light and easy to use. It size makes it easy to store. Overall not bad.

Extremely satisfied with Vax Mach Air, was worried that the small motor would not have the power for picking up dog hairs, but no problem - found the suction very impressive. Lovely and light for carrying all around the house, reaches and cleans under furniture further than usual and easy to empty. Hose slightly fiddly to get used to and I don't bother much connecting the wand (handle), just attach tool to end of hose. After cleaning every room find the handle could do with a bit of padding. Overall I would say it is the best cleaner I have ever purchased.

Excellent machine. The dust emptying is not as easy as a bag machine. The 3 way tool easily gets knocked off.

I am delighted with my new Mach Air. It is very efficient and lightweight which is just what I wanted. Also it is very compact so does not take up a lot of storage space. I am also delighted with the 6 year guarantee.

The U91-MA-B is very powerful having in mind it's size and remarkable low weight. It is easily portable (the carrying handle is well designed and located), and the machine is compact for storage (the adjustable handle length is a very good feature). The swivel release lug which retains the coiled power cable when not in use, provides a low-tech but very logical solution for keeping everything tidy. The lack of the need to use dust bags is welcome and of course cheaper. All in all, a very satisfactory product.

Just about everything we have bought recently seems to have been a disappointment. I think you will be pleased to hear that your vacuum cleaner has been an outstanding exception. It is light , easy to use, works well and the neat slide in handle means it stows away under the stairs in a split level house. It also feels well made when you use it unlike so many others that are reasonably light but doesn't need a weightlifter like our Dyson. Good product that gets five stars from someone not easy to please.

I have found the Vax easy to operate and well designed.

A giant in a little package! I suffer from back trouble and vacuuming had become a painful chore. My intention was to buy the Dyson lightweight model; I was shocked at the price! The saleslady at the store recommended the VAX Mach Air, at first sight I didn't think it was up to much but it was certainly the lightest in the store, anyway I took the plunge and bought it. Getting it ready for use is simplicity, just take it out of the box, put the handle in the slot and away you go. The adjustable handle is a fantastic idea.

I am amazed at how powerful this little beast is, my carpets are regularly vacuumed but the VAX found plenty on its maiden voyage, it leaves the carpets looking groomed, almost like new. It works well on tiled and laminate surfaces and being able to turn off the brushbar is great!

My only quibble, using the attachments is a little awkward, also, they keep falling off their clip, I just leave them off, if I need them I don't have to go far to get them.

To the people at VAX, 10 out of 10, and my back thanks you as well! I'm so impressed with this machine; I may go and get a second one for upstairs.

I am very pleased with my Vax cleaner. It is efficient and lightweight which is exactly right for someone like myself who has limited use in one arm.

Well where do i begin, my Mach Air arrived a few weeks ago and i was very excited. It came in a compact box and took me 5 mins to assemble (didin't even need instructions), and it was ready to use. I loved it straight away, it is so easy to use that you can't quite believe your hoovering. Not so long ago i purchased a Dyson cylinder and although i was pleased with it i haven't used it since. Originally the mach air was for upstairs only but i love it so much it does the whole house. Hoovering is no longer a bind. So if your thinking of getting one then i would place your order now! Also if you are an elderly person or have difficulty in lifting items then you will not struggle with the mach air. My daughter is only 9 and now loves hoovering her own bedroom as the vax is so light. Well done to Vax

Well done Vax,whata little gem you have manufactured. Lighweight, easy to use, excellent suction, compact and easy to store. Have previously owned upright Dyson vacum cleaners which although have excellent suction power are heavy and cumbersome to use and store.

If I have to find any negatives, the bagless cylinder could be larger as it needs emptying regularly and the flex is a little too short, these are just minor issues.

Overall the Mach Air U91 is excellent value for money, I used the Vax web site to order, the service was efficient, I was regularly updated as to how my order was progressing, free and fast delivery and the best price. Will certainly not hesitate to recommend product and service.

Excellent well thought out and super light weight design. Just because this machine compromises on size it doesn't inhibit suction. Hooovering has now become a pleasure instead of a chore and I highly recommend this model.

After recent Spinal surgery I needed to purchase a lightweight vacuum cleaner. I have now had it for several weeks and find it absolutely perfect for my needs. I would recommend anyone with back problems to try one.

Love it only down side so for is the hose could do with been a little longer.

Does the job very well. Easy to use. Handle grip a bit too thick. My wife finds it just does not feel right. It is because it is part of the hose extension and that for someone with a smaller hand is not so comfortable. That said it is a good machine.

Really really light and easy to use. As I have bad arthritis that is essential for me.

Brilliant. Truly lightweight, which was a main thing we were looking for. Easy to use, including emptying the thing. I like the control on the brush mechanism and if it doesn't break easily will be another good point about it (too soon to tell). we have a smallish place and it's compact design is another plus point.

The product is absolutely brilliant. It is powerful compact and well thought out. All of the fixings seem solid and the whole thing feels well made.

Fantastic hoover, easy to use and gets the job done. The only slightly annoying thing is that the attachments don't stay in the holder, thus when you are hoovering they constantly fall out!

i have not used the cleaner enough i.e. over a long period of time to give as detailed rating as i would have liked. However the machine handles very nicely and the weight is excellent. I suffer with osteoporosis in my spine and so i have found this cleaner very good for me as it is very light and easy to manouver around. It also picks up and cleans well.

My first overall impression is very good. But i needed to buy an additional piece of pipe to enable me to vaccuum the stairs without plugging in twice ie once downstairs & then again upstairs. Also it is a bit of a nusience to keep on releasing the pipe to attach additional tools eg to do the carpet edges.

But as stated first overall impressions are very good and it is very easy to empty and clean out.

What a fantastic piece of equipment. I have used Vax hoovers for years but this has to be the very best. It's light, easy to carry up and down steps, so easy to use, no messing about with buttons for this that and the other. Excellent value, hope I get many more years out of it, would recommend it to anyone. Thankyou Vax.

Very very good, above all my expectations, would recomend to all.

Having problems with my spine, not able to lift heavy weights and being a very unfit person, I find this vacuum an absolute God send. The movement is so easy and does not pull on my spine. This little miracle might not have much weight behind it but it really does the work just as well, if not better than it's bigger, heavier colleagues.

I have long hair and a house rabbit but picking up my hair and her fur is no problem either, as the design of the brush roller makes removing the entwined deposits so easy. I really cannot find anything negative to say about this machine even emptying is simple and easy to do.

I will be forever grateful for bumping into a Vax demonstrator as it was through talking to her and trying out her demonstation model that I decided to purchase my new "best friend". I love my Mach Air.

A great vacuum cleaner that has powerful suction, is light to use and incredibly easy to figure out.

My points for improvement would be -

A longer cord.
This hoover has the shortest cord EVER so is best used with a very long extension cable. When used without it is sometimes necessary for me to move sockets up to three times in one room.

A larger fluff collection department.
The fluff container needs to be emptied after 2/3 rooms worth of hoovering (one room if recently carpeted). This is not a huge problem as regular emptying means you can keep an eye on filters and pipes etc but it could be a bit annoying if embarking on a hoover-fest.

I believe the impact of these two adjustments would result in this appliance ranking as the best vacuum ever.

So far, so good. Cleans nicely, not too noisily and it's easy to get the front off and clean the parts. Thank you.

Overall I am really pleased with my new Vax Mach Air, it is powerfull light ,easy to use and very easy to empty.The only negative would be the length of the cable.

Excellent...really pleased with this vax. We wanted a light vacuum and that is the reason we bought it but the suction is excellent as well. Only thing we dont like is that the tools keep dropping off the machine...so we leave them off all the time now,other than that all good thankyou!

Hi, I think the Vax Mach Air is a dream machine. It's so light and easy to move around. I did not know what to expect when we purchased this machine so when we first used it it was a breath of fresh air, not some thing i would normally say about a vacuum cleaner, but is so good at its job. Excellent for suction power; weight; manoeverability and general ease of use.
Storage of tools not quite so good, Tools easily dislodged. I prefer to store the tools seperately. Connection to hose a little awkward. The fixed connection spigot would be better if facing vertically up i.e. turned through 90 up. Overall the best vac cleaner of its type I have ever used.

Excellent machine light and powerful, my husband is using it so it must be good. Makes cleaning stairs and awkward corners easier too. Had a minor hitch but your customer services were top drwaer in sorting it out.

Really like it. Switched from a Dyson because I can't lift the Dyson up and down the stairs. Vax is much lighter but still with great suction. Bought it on recommendation because my Mother has one and she likes hers.

Only one small criticism - the attachments don't sit very well in their clip and keep falling off - not a real problem will just keep them in a drawer.

Excellent cleaner, very light and flexible, goes under tables, settees, etc like a dream. Would highly recommend to anyone. As I live in a town house the lightness of the cleaner is appreciated.

The VAX U91 is a light weight quiet machine that is very easy to move about the home and ideal for use in a small to average size house. It is excellent value for money and I have recommended it to all my family and friends.

A great lightweight upright vacuum cleaner with just a small drawback - it has to be emptied very often as the storage container for the debris is rather small. However, this is a small price to pay for a lightweight cleaner which performs well.

First time I used the Mach Air all the cat hair that had been ground into the carpet had vanished. The carpet has been renewed! Thank you.

I like the machine, very pleased, particularly because it is light to use. Good suction, cleans ok.
The hose is short but it is not a critism because we were aware of that when we bought it.
Don't like the button that you have to press to separte the tools, it is too tight for my hands.

After having 2 Dysons, (i found they did lose suction)I purchased a Mach 7 Vax last year. It is brilliant, but heavy, because of back problems I have trouble taking it up and down stairs, so when I saw the new lightweight Mach Air, I purchased that as well.

It is perfect, light to lift and use, and ideal for areas of less use, and easy to store. The suction on both machines is excellent and I would recommend (and do) a Vax to anyone, never have another Dyson! I have a spiral staircase and still looking for a cleaner to do that, bit difficult dragging a hose around it. Perhaps a hand held?

This model is well recommended, it's the second Vax Mach Air we have had and this second one has been given a longer mains cable and suction hose, it's suction is very powerful. 5 star piece of kit.

Both the vac and steamer a great products, the vac suction both on and off carpets is great with the added bonus of the powerhead and both appliances are lightweight, the vacs hose could be a little bit longer but other than that as I have stated both are great appliances.

Our existing vaccum is too heavy and after seeing the advert for the Vax lightweight cleaner, on television,we found one in a local store, tried the weight and bought it there and then. We have no problems now, its easy to push, picks up well, easy to empty and store and the price was right.

great machine in many respects, and a very good size for uk houses. my only gripe is that disconnecting the hose so as to use the hand tools is pretty klutzy and fiddly. in all other aspects i prefer the vax to the dyson but on tool use, i'm sorry chaps and chapesses, dyson has you beat. Of course, since i bought the vax clearly the other virtues of the machine were more important !

Excellent product, really easy to use with fantastic results. 6 year warranty and washable filter are benefits. The only downside is the flexible hose is very difficult to use die to the location of one of the bracket on the back which makes cleaning stair and by skirting board very difficult - however you can purchase an extension lead for

This is the easiest and lightest machine we have had,it is as powerful as any we have had and is so easy to work out, ie empting, (unlike the dyson we compared it with) All in all very happy although we have had the hose replaced under warranty, which was unfortunate, so early in it's life.

Having had a wet&dry vax for many years ,[still used in my garage].I was not dissapointed at the power and flexability of my new machine.

I am extremly pleased with this Vax, it is a nice size for handling and so light to carry up and down the stairs yet still has powerful suction . The only negative thing i can say about it is the location of the switch to use the brush with wooden floors and rugs, so common these days. It would make life easier if the switch were to be located on a higher part of the machine. Having said that I have used a Dyson for the last ten years and never had a problem with it, but they are so heavy i wouldnt consider going back to it, in fact i have given mine away.

Using a Dyson for years, this time i went and bought a Vax at the fraction of the price of a Dyson,it is good as a Dyson no even better, its valve for money & also the extended warranty made me buy the Vax.

I am very pleased with the machine, much lighter than my previous vacuum cleaner. It is ideal for my size of house and I find I do not need to vacuum the carpets as often. I have not been able to work out how to use the tools but this is just me I am not very technical.

Very easy to use, light weight, very portable good suction.

The reason I chose this model is that due to illness I need a vacuum cleaner which is light and easy to handle also having two cats it needs to be quite powerful too.

There are one or two things I would change if I was re-designing this cleaner. First of all the handle could be more comfortable, perhaps if it was more streamlined it would feel better. Secondly I was disappointed to read on the instructions that when using the attachments I should at the same time hold the top of the machine, I find this quite difficult. So while for normal vacuuming this machine meets my needs I do not find using the attachments particularly easy.

On the positive side the Vax does reach under furniture better than my previous cleaner so there is less need to use the attachments. Overall I am quite happy with this model but it is not perfect.

Having had the vacuum cleaner for, I think, almost 4 months now, my wife (who is 63, but I have NOT mentioned that, and YOU do NOT know it!) suffers quite badly from arthritis in both hands and wrists, and says, quite truthfully, that she thinks that it is a WONDERFUL piece of equipment.

She says that it is, very unusually, AS ADVERTISED. i.e. It IS very light and easy to use, and I suppose it must be, because I have not once, in the 4 months we have had it, been asked to fix anything, or even to empty it - and that was ALWAYS my job with every other cleaner we have ever had. None of which, incidentally, ever lasted longer than 2 years, and most a lot less than that! (Having an engineering background myself, I was forever being drafted in to fix the damn things.) A very good record to date but time will tell; but then we do have the assurance of your 6 year guarantee, and if YOU didn't think that it was good for at least 6 years and 1 month you wouldn't have offered it, would you!

The only small criticism she has made is that at the top of the handle (Fig.14 in your Machine Overview; page 2 of the User Guide) there is a rather sharp ridge in the plastic moulding about 1 cm. down, (which serves to retain the clip on the extension hose - which we don't have - presumably because ours is the lightweight model), and which used to cut into her wrist quite painfully until I solved the problem by putting a rubber 'O' ring over the top of the handle until it rested on the plastic ridge making it wider and softer, so that it no longer caused any pain. I looked at the connection using the main hose, and I think that you could increase the width of this moulding by up to 5mm with a convex return to the handle on the upper edge, which would eliminate the 'cutting' feeling which exists at present. I HAVE to say at this point that my wife is on the 'small' side (4'-10" high) and doesn't have any surplus flesh as she weighs less than 8 stone and that, coupled with the arthritis, may have caused her the pain that someone 'fitter and fatter' would not have noticed.

I think I might have deducted one tenth of one star because of this 'defect??', but as it is probably due to the peculiar circumstances in this instance that wouldn't be fair, so we will give it the FULL FIVE STARS with our thanks for a super product. Well, YOU did e-mail and ask for our opinion!!

It is all that the promotional material says - light, easy to empty and clean, excellent suction, cleans into corners, under radiators and along skirting boards with ease - I would certainly recommend to friends and family- indeed have already done so. 10 out of 10!

Amazing suction from such a small machine. The reason I purchased this was it's light weight, almost half of my previous vacuum cleaner. One thing that I am not too sure about is the hose - it is not that easy to deploy and seems as though it will tear quite easily, but it is early days yet and time will tell!

Absolutely brilliant the suction on it is amazing it keeps sucking up the door mats when i try to hoover them and they are quite heavy, in fact i think it has better suction than the Dyson that i replaced it with and i thought that was great. The only thing that would improve it was if the hose on it was slightly longer and the cable even though i was aware of the length of these when i bought it and i understand that it is a compact version just a metre extra on both would make it slightly more versatile for me. I also think the 6 year warranty for parts and labour is extremely good and helped to sway the decision to buy it as well as the sale price for which i bought it of

I absolutely love it was going to buy a dyson but my son works for currys and said that the vax had been flying out the door and was a good hoover and also having the six year guarantee is great. The hoover is quiet and the power and suction is brilliant, I have a couple of mats and the hoover just lifts them off the floor it is so powerful.

AM MAZ ING. The vax is light and very powerful. I bought just use up stairs but find that I use up and down stairs as it's easy to carry. It looks like my very heavy 18 month old Dyson will be sold on. thanks Vax.

As soon as I got the appliance home I just had to try it out (boy with toy), because I had vacumed before I left home to buy the Mach Air I was not expecting any big deal, imagine my surprise when I emptied the vax and found not only fluff but also quite an amount of dust. So as a conclusion the machine is absolutely magic. The wieght of the machine should be able to sell it on its own.

1.As I suffer with Osteoarthritis I chose this lightweight upright hoover as a heavier machine would not be at all suitable.

2.The suction power is very good.

3.The handle is very well designed and turning into the longer nozzle facility,useful and compact.

4.Being bagless it is easy to empty the contents without too much effort.

I love it its light , easy to use moves between carpet and floors and its low noise means I like to use my vax. Can I say Customer Service was the best I have had in along time I tryed to by a spare brush bar only to be told thay have a life long garentee so I felt better about buying a vacuum that I realy did not want to spend my money on and the price was good. The one thing I did wrong I should have brought it on line I would have got a better deal than my high street shop.

This is the lightest, most versatile vacuum cleaner that we have ever owned. There was an immediate improvement in our carpets and in the energy used by us. A truly magnificent machine.

Found my new vax to be light and much quieter than i expected. Was considering buying a Dyson until I saw the vax advertised. Much better price too well worth the money.

It is truly a great little machine - so light and powerful.

Love this little vacuum. My carpets don't know what hit them! My hardwood floors respond just as well. Only a couple of things, the power lead could be a bit longer, the attachment keeps falling off, and the hose is a bit more difficult to use as it is positioned at the base which tends to make the unit itself fall over, however, I bought this instead of another Dyson, and don't regret it at all. It is way more powerful than the smaller lightweight unit appears, and who can go wrong with a 6 year guarantee!! Very glad I bought it.

This seems to be a really good cleaner. I particularly like the light weight of the machine since I suffered a stroke in April and cant use heavy things. I also had a couple of Dyson cleaners over the years, but found them rather cumbersome and not as efficient as the Vax Mach Air.

Just what the doctor ordered, light, power at your finger tips, no more back pains, great, wish I knew about this a long time ago.

A fabulous little vacuum cleaner - especially for the price! I'm really impressed! I've been looking for one like this for 4 years. The rotary brush is very easy to remove for cleaning. I can hardly fault it. The suction is so good that it won't move on the 'cosy tread' flooring in the bathroom. The hose is slightly too short and like all vacuums without a bag a little messy to empty although a lot less than most especially if emptied after every use.

I am very pleased with this product. It has excellent suction power and the turbo brush fluffs up the carpets and collects pet hairs which is the reason I bought it after reading other good reviews. There are a couple of downsides which aren't really a problem. The little tools keep falling off and I have to empty it after cleaning every room however I do have new carpets so that could be the problem as they are probably still shedding pile. It's a lovely little compact cleaner so I expect it has to have a small dust collecter otherwise it would have to be a bigger machine.It does have quite a short lead but it doesn't bother me as I have loads of power points. It's lovely and lightweight which is great for carrying upstairs. All in all a good purchase.

Have had many hoovers but this one is brilliant easy to use light and fittings so compact.

After having Dyson Uprights for a good number of years, I am very impressed with the performance of the Vax, especialy the suction and lightness of the machine.

However on the down side the Power cable length could do to be two meters longer, also connecting the stretch Hose to the telescopic extension-tube is fiddley and flimsey, in, my opinion I feel it is unlikely to last the life of the Six Year Guarantee (if used as much as the Dyson's)

After having to take our first cleaner back due to a high pitch screaming noise. We are delighted with our replacement the Mach Air doe's everything that it says.

We were shocked at just how powerful it is and we could not believe how much dirt came from what we thought to be a clean carpet.

The 6 year guarantee gives ultimate piece of mind and we will certainly recommend this product to others.

Excellent machine I was ashamed what was vacuumed up left behind my old machine. The only downside is that I find the dirt container is a little on the small side but otherwise I was very pleased with my purchase.

The only reason i have not given this product 5/5 is that there are 2 small points i think could be improved.
1) the power cord needs to be a little longer as it is slightly short and i needed to be carefull where i pluged it in so i could reach the area's i needed to clean.
2) the adapter hose is in a permanent fixing the the appliance and this would be better if held by a clip for eas of use.
Othere than the above points i am verry impressed with this appliance and have now decided to look at what Vax will be offering before i purchase from another company.

I enjoy using it and like the fact that it is very lightweight and easy to use and carry and has a easily manoeuvrable head. However, I would like to see a suction strength adjuster as it tends to suck up loose laid vinyl flooring that I have in some places in the house. Other than that I am so far delighted with the machine.

So far the Mach Air has proved to live up to all expectations. I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and a standard weight machine was proving too much for me. The lightweight Mach Air is very versatile and I can use it without problems.

The only slight drawback is using the extending hose but that is probably only due to a lack of familiarity so far.

Great cleaner nice and light for carrying upstairs ,but a bit awkward for cleaning stairs ,tools keep falling of were they are stored that could be better otherwise its good .

I bought this machine couple of weeks ago and I am happy with its performance. What I like most about this machine is that it is light and able to negotiate low lying areas. Power of the machine is resonable. The downside is that it has a short hose not enough it clean the staircase.

I love this machine. Fantastic value for money. Powerful suction, can get it under a bed, incredibly light. Easy to manoeuvre, brilliant on dog and horse hair! Easy to clean and empty. Downsides - cord too short (need to use an extension lead most of time) and hose too short and a bit of a pain to keep clipping and un-clipping it. Have 3 cats, a dog, 2 horses and 4 children so a good hoover is a must in my house! I always choose Vax as always good. This is the best model I have had yet. If cord was longer and hose longer and better, it would be perfect!

Very good lightweight machine, picks up very well, almost on par with full size upright Dyson. Only thing I dont like is the hose and attachments, otherwise almost perfect machine.

I bought this machine to keep upstairs as I now find it difficilt to carry my other cleaner up and down the stairs. It is great, it fits into a corner of the room when not in use, I can carry just the cylinder downstairs for emptying and my bedroom carpet has not been this clean in a long time. This is a great machine, very light yet a powerful cleaner. Attachments very easy to assemble and easy to clean, and with a six years guarantee its the best of its type on the market.

It's light in weight and therefore more versitle and moveable for me. It has good suction power and simple to change from "carpet" to "floor" mode. Easy to attach and remove assessories. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I have been very pleased so far. The first time I used it I was surprised how much dirt and carpet pile was collected in the see through container. The instructions took a little time to get used to but I soon mastered it. One of the good things is that I can now get under the sideboard and low furniture easily.

The little machine is so powerful and I absolute love it. It is cheaper than Dyson and maybe better performance. I love the design of everything in orange means a function to use and can pack everything around the vacuum means I do not need to think of where to put the rest of the accessories. I enjoy hovering the floor more since I bought the vacuum.
The only criticism is the button to open lid for the the cylinder is at the bottom. It means you still have to put your hands inside the bin before release the rubbish. Maybe they should design something to press or push to open and close the lid instead.

I am delighted with my new Vax. It is very lightweight and I now don't have to ask my husband to carry the vacuum down stairs for me. Living in a small house means that it is so much easier to store with its fold down handle and compact size but at the same time you still get a good strong suction and it has excellent edge to edge cleaning. The hose is slightly short for my stairs but it is so light weight it is no problem carrying it up the stairs as you go. All in all an excellent buy, competative price and excellent vacuum.

I am liking my Vax, I decided on this model as it was lightweight and easy to move about. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised at the power of such a small machine. It certainly cleans my carpets well. What really annoys me is getting the hose out from the bottom of the machine I find it difficult to press the clip thing and then putting it back in place. The 3-1 brush tool is quite difficult to come apart. All in all I think it is an efficient machine.

Absoluty brillaint couldn't ask for better. Better than a dyson. Could do with a longer whose though for stairs

Fantastic machine - light to carry, easy to use, efficient pick up, takes up very little space. Like the way the handle height is adjustable too.

It has a nice simple operation and is verylight in weight. So far so good.

My wife and I stood in a well known electrical store, looking at Dyson cleaners, with a mind to replace our ageing Dyson with a more modern version.

A fellow, unknown shopper, engaged us in a vacuum related conversation, wanting, due to personal experience, to introduce us to the Vax Mach Air cleaner, which was on display some distance from the large Dyson collection.

His persuasive story of amazing performance he had achieved from such an unassuming and demure cleaner and the added bonus of a very good sale price eventually swung our favour toward the Vax, which we duly purchased.

We got it home, spent less than 2 minutes unpacking and assembling the couple of parts removed for optimum packing and started cleaning the living room carpet, which had been 'Dysoned' earlier that day.

Within a couple of minutes, we just looked at each other with our mouths open. The sheer volume of dirt the cleaner had already picked up, before the room was even half finished was astounding, we emptied it before moving on to the rest of the bungalow and again when the smaller rooms were done.

Even when new, we don't remember the Dyson being as efficient as this Vax. We are grateful to the stranger in the store, who recommended the Vax to us.

In summary; the Vax is smaller, lighter, quieter, more manoeuvrable, cheaper (even without the sale price) and in our opinion, more efficient, than our previous Dyson, even when new. It is easy to use, a doddle to empty and much less work, due to it's neat size and light weight. We would, as did the stranger in the store, unreservedly recommend this cleaner.

This is the very best small vac that I have used.We had a hotel and I wish this vac had been on the market at the time ,as it would have made life a lot more easy.

Nice and easy to use good suction really light and able to get under the furniture easily. Really like the idea of being able to turn the brush bar off when you need to. Reviews said it was noisy but lots quieter than the 2 year old hoover it replaced and it is more stable as the hoover would fall over if looked at in the wrong way. Really pleased with this Vax.

Fantastic light-weight hoover that is easy to carry up the stairs compared to my old dyson. Has really good suction - I noticed a huge difference in my carpets. Easy to empty. I can live with the shorter cable and shorter hose for the stairs - because of its strong suction and being so light and easy to store.

I am very pleased with this cleaner. It is far superior to my previous Dyson which I absolutely hated for the whole 2 years that I forced myself to use it. It is advertised as full size power from the 'lightest machine in the world' and it definatley lives up to this claim. It is very easy to use, very light and powerful and so far I am extremely pleased with it. Would not swop it back for a dyson for the world, they are over priced and under perform this cleaner by far.

The vacuum cleaner picks up dirt really well and is very quite. The only problem that I have with it is that the length of the lead is a little short so I am unable to reach part of my room without using the nozel.

Seems good so far. It was bought as a second machine to leave upstairs. It fits the bill perfectly due to its lightness in weight.

This machine is everything I wanted it is very light to use I can alter the brushes to go on to my wood floors and the length of cable is great for my stairs. This model was reccomended by my friend she has the same model.

I have used this product and think it is an amazing vaccum cleaner. It cleans and takes away all the dirt without causing any problem and i think the lights specifying green and red are also good in indicating that everything is ok or not..

Absolutely brilliant. I purchased this for use at my mothers house, being elderly (and frail) she has a house full of furniture and ornaments. The machine is so light weight and is able to get around or under most furniture. Easy emptying makes for quick cleaning. She has only ever had a cylinder model so was sceptical when I arrived with an upright, but she is adapting and although I have being doing the cleaning it would be possible for her to use the machine I am sure.

Great little machine - so lightweight yet all the power of a bigger hoover. Very easy to empty & keep clean &takes up far less space in cupboard.

Hi, what can i say about u91 - A1. Very light, easy to use, fantastic suction, cannot be knocked. I hovered up with henry in the morning and bought the u91 for the wife that day. Easier for her to use, my carpets look clean now. Henry gone to retirement now, well done Vax.

I am delighted with the purchase. It is very effective and looks good - light as well! The only negative was that the orange clip holding hose to body at base cracked/snapped without any obvious misuse. However your customer service remedied and replaced the necessary part very efficiently and quickly. Thanks for a good product at a good price - indistinguishable from more expensive competitors !!

The Vac is as good as any other cleaner out there and better than most in terms of suction , only two small problems it needs a longer flex and the onboard tools are allways falling off.

It is easy to use the attachments are simple to operate the suction and the way it cleans carpets is amazing.

I am impressed with everything about the machine except for removing the flexible hose from the bottom fitment when using the extension wand. It is very difficult to remove and replace.

I already own a Vax Mach7 which is a great hoover, although it has been getting pretty heavy to use due to mine and my wife's worsening health problems.

So I saw the Vax U91-MA-B Mach Air advertised, and decided to buy one with the discription stating that it was very light.

I must say that this was one of our best moves, as it certainly lives up to its description, it is lovely and light to use, picks up absolutely brilliant, and I must say it is as good as the Mach7, which we have kept and do still use it now and again.

The only drawback with the new U91-MA-B Mach Air is the Hose, as it is not really long enough, and with the hoover being so light, if you try to extend the hose it tends to pull the hoover over. So I am looking at buying a hose extension, as this will make the hoover so much more versatile.
Overall I would definately recommend this hoover to anybody, in fact we already have done so.

Just a last note, we do also still have the orange Vax pull along hoover/carpet cleaner, which is still in great working order, and we use this to clean our carpets, and must say that this model still cleans as it did when it was new.

I was thinking of getting a Dyson,but after looking at reviews I decided on the Vax. I am disabled so the fact it is very light and easy to move around is a bonus. My carpets look almost new and I am very pleased with my purchase. Very good value.

The Mach Air Vax I obtained is one of the best buys I have made. I was looking for a powerful but light machine. This machine as all these qualities. It's also easy to store away because it is so small. I would recommend this machine to anyone.

The Vax Mach Air is the best vaccumm we have purchased. Very light to use and yet still stable and picks up excellently. This lightweight product makes it much easier to use and transport up and down the stairs. For older people this vacuum is higher recommended and beats the last vacuum (dyson) by a long way. Suction is comparable with our last vaccumm, much lighter and very competitive on price. Thank you.

I bought this Vax for my mother who suffers with a bad back and therefore needs a lightweight vacuum cleaner, we have always over the last few years had Dysons, as James Dyson was the inventor of the cyclone but when I tried the lightweight new ball range I found it not to pleasant on the wrists. So someone recommended the Vax Mach,and my mother simply adours it. Althougth small and lightweight it does out perform the Dyson, previous carpets that had been vacuumed with a Dyson actually still had debris within them which the Vax was quick to extract.The only criticism I have is that the power flex is a little on the short size but this in no way would stop me purchasing another.

Overall, a very good little machine that is light and easy to use. It certainly picks up a lot of dirt that other uprights would perhaps not collect.

The only grumbles I have are that it is a bit 'plasticky', and the handle can be quite uncomfortable (though this may just affect tall people). The clip at the top of the machine (that secures the lead when folded) looks a bit fragile though time will tell if it lasts or breaks off.

The machine is good value for money and I would recommend it.

Excellent suction power and very light. This was purchased for elderly parents, adn the ease of use and lightness was an important consideration. The ease of emptying is very good. The disabling of the brush function by button is much easier to use than many other similar models, where the brush action has to added / disabled manually.

My two main criticisms, were the assembly instructions, when the machine is first unpacked; and the frequency of emtying the cylinder, although I do fully appreciate that this is payback for having the total wight of the machine so low. And I would prefer the lower mass than the possibility of a larger cylinder/machine.

Excellent machine, love the fact it's ultra lightweight without appearing to sacrifice power. So far, very pleased but obviously time will tell as far as reliability is concerned.

I like my hoover but the only thing i find a pain is the lead is not long enough

i am very pleased with my new vax. the suction on it is brilliant. it is very light and very easy to empty. the Mach Air is very quiet too and you get a good length of cable. the attachment is very easy to connect, although the tools supplied do tend to fall out of the clip, but that is a minor point and providing you put them somewhere where they won't get lost then a good 9 out of 10 from me.

So far so good. Seems to be excellent value with an excellent power to weight ratio. We were looking for lightweght machine and this compares very well with our previous and more expensive Oreck.

We have had our Vax U91-MA-B Mach Air vacuum cleaner for around six months, and during this time we can honesty say it is the best machine we have had in the 37 years of marriage.

The first time it was used,the lounge carpet was being vacuumed and it had to be emptied twice, this just shows how bad the other machine was!

Not only is it light, and quiet we can do all types of flooring throughout the house!

We feel if there could be an improvements they would be 1. a longer power cable, and 2. a longer hand held hose!

But all in all I would recommend the Vax U91-MA-B to every one, price, weight, silent, easy to keep clean ( also no smells from the bag ), very powerful, 6 year warranty, what more could you want, without doubt the best vacuum we have ever had!

At first I didn't want to believe that such a little and light weight machine could be such a great product, but I was very pleasantly surprised. My new vacum cleaner has been a complete godsend. I have always used a 'Hoover' and my last one proved to be a real pain. Now with the Vax machine it has made cleaning my floors so much easier and quicker. Easy to maintain and extremely light to lift around the house. Has got to be one of lightest vacum's on the market. Extremely delighted and happy with the product.

Really compact and lightweight exactly what I was looking for instead of a bulky heavy alternative, and picks up dirt just as good. However, two critisms - lead too short and would prefer automatic rewind.

Absolutely amazing product - lightweight and manoeuvrable. It gets right up to the edge of carpets. Does well on laminate, the brushbar can be switched off. Easy to empty and to store.

Overall the Vac is a good vac. It has great suction and is nice and compact and lightweight.

Never thought weight was a issue with my old vac but after using this I can now see the benefits of a light weight vacuum.

It looks nice enough and is easy to empty.

My only complaints are that the hose is not long enough and its not positioned brilliantly. Would be better if it detached at the top not the bottom. Also it caught a pull in my hallway carpet and pulled a long thread out so there is now a bald patch on my carpet which is a bit annoying.

had this machine for a month and up to now its been excellent. The suction is magnificant and its easy to operate and use .Cleaning stairs great you can hoover with one hand and carry machine in other as it is light weight. the only thing I would say is the tubing could be a bit longer but other than that up to now were are going well!

Nice lightweight machine, works very well suitable for my needs. Extendable hose is a bit difficult, as it comes out of the base of the machine, and have to be very careful not to damage the hose. Bought in preference to the Dyson 24/25. Well done Vax . it also looks very smart!!

I am extremely pleased with this cleaner, very light, excellent suction ,very manoeuvrable especialy underneath chairs etc. The hose could be a little longer and we had one small problem ,spring clip where hose fits into cleaner is vulnerable and snapped .But one telephone call and a new part was sent immediately by post,customer care advisor was extremely helpfull. My husband & myself are in our 70s & have both had hip replacements & so had to replace the very heavy Dyson, If I had known how excellent the VACs was I would have changed long ago its the best vacuum on the market bar none very neat & easy to use the emptying is so simple.

Now I have no excuse to only vacuum once a week because of it knocking us about. every day now is no problem.

fantastic cleaner just glides along the floors so easy to manouvere i suffer from painful back and shoulders but this has made hoovering a dream and so affordable compered to other makes thank you vax from a very satisfied customer

We are very pleased with the cleaner, the only thing is that the brushes keep falling out of the arm, so have to leave it off.

+ It is very easy to use and to move around, being light in weight, but still able to do an excellent cleaning job. I am very satisfied with it and would recommend it to anyone.

? It is still a bit early to see how long the filters last without clogging and affecting the suction

- Only one small glitch
The rubber grommet between the suction hose and the dirt container was twisted and has a kink in it. This must have been done at the assembly stage I would think with the dirt container being clicked in clumsily. It leaked air slightly initially but with care is now levelling out.

I only mention this last item as it may improve your production line.
Otherwise I cannot fault the product

My new Vax is Great machine, Its light weight makes it very easy to manouvre, being arthritis friendly is a boon to me. I particularly like the fact that I am no longer faced with the tedious task of replacing bags. fully recommended and with a gold star rating.

Light and easy to use as an uprught cleaner. Flexable hose is too short and awkward to use. Easy to empty. Not the best, but good value for the price.

We were using a Dyson machine which we found very heavy to lift and use. The vax lightweight cleaner is much easier to lift and use and does the cleaning just as well as the Dyson at a fraction of the price.

I am very happy with the Vax it is light easy to use,goes under furniture easly has good suction power and is an all round excellent vacumn cleaner

OMG!!!! This machine is amazing! I have a very small house with 3 dogs and too much carpet. Have tried all the other make vacuums that profess to pick up dog hair but they lie! I did the sitting room with my old vacuum (the "D" brand) then went over it again with my new, wonderful, amazing Vax and had to empty him - TWICE!!!!! Then proceeded to vax the entire (albeit very small) house. It took me about 20 minutes instead of the hours it used to take with me having to go over and over every inch of floor. Cruise( the vax, i named him!) just picked all the dog hair etc up - first sweep! I am seriously impressed and he's so light - not like my old "D" which was like manhandling a Sherman tank! Fantastic vacuum cleaner. I cannot believe how well it picks up. You can hoover the carpet empty the cleaner and re-hoover the carpet and it still picks up. Great at picking up pet hairs. Very light weight and moveable. Easy to empty and clean the filters. I have already recommended it to family and friends. Whose had a test drive by vacuumimg the carpet.Guarantee for 6 years absolutely fantastic.

Our first Vax had to be returned for repair, which couldn't be repaired, so this feedback is for the replacement. As with the first one, we are still very pleased with the performance and lightnes of the machine.

I wanted a small,light and yet effective machine and the Vax Mach Air ticks all the boxes. It is easy to use,manouver and store and yet is excellent at dealing with the daily dust and dirt and the rotating brush keeps my carpets clear of dog hairs.It has a strong suction and cleans effortlessly right up to the edge.

The only drawbacks are that it needs emptying frequently but even that is easy with and easy clip on the lid and the lead is rather short, but other than that it is excellent value for a small excellent cleaning machine.

Have wanted this vacuum cleaner for ages. So pleased in the end that i did purchase it as it is the best vacuum i have ever bought. It is nice and compact and light and has a very good suction. Carpets have never looked so clean. The only draw back that i can see is the on board tools. I don't keep mine hooked on the back of the vacuum as they tend to get pushed off. Also they don't seem to stay very well attached to the hose when being used. Although there is this slight problem i would definitely purchase another of these vacuum's. They are also very easy to empty.

I am in love with my new VAX. I had a perfectly good vacuum cleaner but the weight had become a real problem. Yes, I am in that age group. I admit that the attachments do fall off the back, but I can live with that. There are so many other positives: the suction is great and I love the lack of bags. I would recommend this product to anyone that still wants an upright cleaner but cannot manage the weight.

Love it, really light with great suction!!!!

It picks up the animal hair really well. The electric cable is not long enough though. Nice and light for carrying around but not that easy to use on stairs.

A good machine. I like the light weight and cleaning performance. I do not like the proximity of the brush roller switch to the main on/off switch.

I find my new vax very light to use, the adjustable handle height is fantastic, and the fact that when you stop hoovering the brush bar stops as well as with my last one my husband managed to burn the carpet, it's easy to empty, the only problem we find is that the tools don't stay on the machine, they keep falling off.
Otherwise I am happy with my purchase.

This upright is ideal for my small house, it is very easy to use and empty. It has great suction, my carpets look like new.

I have had Dysons (TOO HEAVY), Hoovers and various other makes, but for me the U91-MA-B MACH AIR is the best. It is light enough,it is powerful,it really cleans the carpet, if I had to fault it I would say the hose on the back of the machine is not long enough,and I would like the handle to be softer,just for comfort. The six year warenty is great,I would recomend this cleaner,I have to anyone who will listen, my first but not my last Vax, WELL DONE VAX.

Very impressed. It is so lightweight compared with other makes. Good Price as well. Is just as good as a Dyson (which I have also had in the past). Easy to take up & down stairs, easy to clean - more hygienic than some other makes (don't get dust everywhere when emptying the dust into the bin). The 6 year guarantee is great as well because it just goes to prove how long it should at least last before any thought of it breaking down etc. Would recommend it. (If I had to make one negative comment it would be that the tools keep falling off when moving the machine about so I end up taking them off, they don't fit tight enough)

I'm in love with my new Vax U91-MA-B Mach Air cleaner! The power and accessibilty is brilliant. Having had two hip replacement operations in 5 years and also suffering from osteo arthritis, I find the lightweight characteristics are excellent.

Only two minor gripes:
1. The power lead isn't long enough! It could be a couple of metres longer!
2. The clip to unfasten the vacuum hose from the base of the machine is difficult to operate, especially with stiff, unbending fingers!

Apart from that, where has this cleaner been all of my life?

Adequate machine. Good suction and easy to use.

Full marks for being light and easy to handle and carry up and down stairs. Full marks for suction on carpet. At times on the hard vinyl floor when I turn off the carpet beater function, it is still so powerful that I cannot always easily break the suction between the floor and the machine.
Worse features:
1.The extra brush and other features easily get dislodged off their place at the back while I am using the machine, very awkward.
2. The detachable hose seems too short.

I purchased the vacuum cleaner based on it's lightweight and competitive pricing level when compared against similar leading brands.

In use the suction performance is excellent and being a lightweight unit it is very easy to manoeuvre meaning I can clean the whole house in no time at all. It is very easy to empty and the tools seem quite sufficient for the job. The brush on/off feature is useful when cleaning tiled floors.

With the addition of the extra warranty this made it the ideal unit for me.

Love the fact that it is so light- suction on the machine is great- although with a flat pile carpet it can be hard to push along as the vac almost seems to stick to the floor!
Emptying is easy which is good as the dust chamber is only small.
Really like the fact that handle turns into a hose.
The main downsides with the machine is that the electric chord is a little on the short side as is the concertina hose- but I guess that is to do with makingth emachine as light as possible.
The interchangeable attachments would benefit from a more secure docking station.
But overall a great little machine and ideal for those with back problems- with the weight and size its not too cumbersome to carry upstairs.

I am pleased with my little vax, but i do find the hose a bit of a hassle having to unclip it from the bottom and attach it to the wand.

First rate cleaner. Initially bought to supplement dyson ball cleaner which proved extremely heavy to carry up / down stairs.

The VAX Mach-Air was purchased because of it's small lightweight design - works extremely well,& have not noticed any loss of suction as is the case with the dyson product.

Ideal for small / medium sized rooms, easy to operate, really can't fault it. As an owner of a VAX carpet cleaner as well, products are extremely robust, & although most components are plastic they don't have that cheap feel as some other manufacturers products do.

Well to tell the truth my husband and me were total shocked by the size, we thought it was a kid`s hoover. it was so light and small compared to what we have been used to, but down to the nitty gritty we could not be more pleased with the Mach Air the suction all most lifts the carpets it does not fall over when using the extension hose and the tools don`t fall of when being used, we are totaly thrilled with it.

I am so happy with the Mach Air that i stayed up late to find extra places around the house to vacuum! It is ideal for hard wood and carpet floors, the cyclonic power does exactly what it says, by creating a mini cyclone around my home to get even the hardest ingrain animal hairs and dirt.

With a 1.5litre capacity its just right for my family home with one dog two cats and two children. Lightweight enough for my children to carry it upstairs and vacuum their own rooms (until the novelty wears off, im sure) Emptying it was easier than i thought, just lift and push the button, cant get much easier.
the cord length was long enough to go from to room without me having to re-plug.

The inbuilt hose isn't long enough to go to more than three steps on the stairs, or to reach the seats of the settee, but you can purchase an extension hose to reach to the top of the stairs.

It has a setting for hardwood, and with the push of a button the brush will rotate and its ready for carpet. it was so powerful it gave my carpet a new life by pulling the fibers up. Whilst its not the quietest of vacuums for the amount of power it produces i would have expected it to be louder. The downside to having so much power was that it made too difficult to do my rug without it sticking, and it pulled my carpet up, (which must have been a little lose)

Maybe an adjuster on the power to so it can be turned down would be an idea.
just to see exactly how great the mach air is, i first vacuumed one room with my old vacuum (the Vax Swift) and then went over it with the Mach Air. What i saw in the cylinder was enough for me to upgrade the Mach Air to my new favorite vacuum of choice.

I am very pleased with the Vax hoover apart from the power lead is a bit short and i have to keep changing the plug sockets to get it to reach different places

Brilliant! Like the on/off for he brush. like the simple emptying procedure. Like even more the suction. Hope it lasts.

We bought the Vax because of it's light weight as my wife was having difficulty in manouvering and carrying our previous one up stairs.

I was a bit worried that the performance of it might be affected with the lower power motor but i am pleased to say that these fears were misplaced.

The only downside I have so far found is the reach available on the tools hose

Love the size of the vac, easy to use, so good with the cat fur and grand children mess.
a problem with detatching the hose for hard to get at corners, but still dont regret buying the vax.

I found this machine light and easy to use. Although the dust compartment is small it is easy to empty. The suction on the machine is really very good. My only complaint is that the power cable is rather short.

Light and easy to use. Not at all cumbersome. Nips around the furniture easily.

This machine is great. It is so light that it seems unbelievable that it is so powerful. I have arthitis and I can carry it up and stairs with ease. Highly reccommended

Great vacuum for the price light and easy to use,able to clean under most furniture as the head goes virtually flat. Only fault I have found is that it has to be plugged into mains socket in every room as the wire is too short.

We're pleased with the new VAX upright cleaner. It does what it says on the packet, light, easy to use, good suction and cleaning action, reassuring six year guarantee.
So, no complaints and we think a good product.

Very pleased with my VAX very light to use, and easy to use on the stairs with the extension also very good suction, also when I move the furniture around I find it removes the indentation marks and brings up the fibers in the carpet, I would definitely recommend this to all my friends

This is a fantastic machine it is incredibly light to take upstairs. The suction on it is far superior to my Dyson. I would recommend this machine to anybody it physically lifts my carpet with its power.

Very good machine. very light & easy to use. suction is very strong and overall the machine seems to be good value for money & very efficient.

The only negative point is the short length of the cord which makes it difficult for cleaning stairs etc.

Very happy with the machine but find it rather heavy to push back and forwards.

Really pleased with the quality and performance emptying and cleaning easy but the electric cable needs to be longer.

Overall very good value. Advantages over my old DC04 Dyson :
> much lighter, so just easier to use. But seems to clean just as well.
> much lower cleaning head , allow you to get under the edge of beds, radiators and other furniture. Dyson was just too high for this.

Points for improvement :
> the mains lead is about too short ! About 5ft less than my old dyson and this makes a BIG difference. It can't go from one end of my lounge to the other, the dyson could. How much does 5ft of flex cost ?
A longer lead would have got 5 stars.

We got the Vax to replace our Dyson. we chose the Vax because it was a lot lighter in weight, ideal for carrying upstairs. We are very pleased with the Vax, the only thing that we are not keen on if that the tools tend to fall from the storage clip regularly.

Was thrilled when I felt the weight of the machine it is a nice neat machine.I thought maybe I would have to forgo the strong suction that I was used to with the dyson but I was amazed at the power of it.It sucked up every bit of dirt I went from room to room it was so easy to push.
One downside, Trying to do the stairs with it sooooo difficult, the hose is so short and the handle so long I tried but the attachment broke so I had to give up.I must phone uo to order a replacement .Its a shame because its such a powerfull little machine I wont swop it.I would have given this a 5 rating but for the attachments.

I was pleasantly surprised that such a lightweight machine cleaned so efficiently and despite my arthritis was easy to handle. It was just what I needed after struggling with my heavier Dyson.

Very easy to handle, the light weight is certaily a bonus compared with other machines. Good suction, gets up to the edge of carpets. We have only had it for just over a week but find the attchment hose a bit fiddly.

Excellent ! So much easier to carry around and to keep clean. Good suction and quickly gets around the house. Even gets right under the bed!

Changed to Vax from Dyson .....More affordable and even better cleaner.

Good Product Cleans Well

Absolutely love this Vax. I have a back problem, so ideal as so light to carry upstairs. great suction brings carpets back to life. Easy to use on laminate, just turn brushbar off. Vacuuming done in half the time now,because so easy to manouvre. I've recommended this vax to my family and friends and two have already bought one. The only thing that would improve this vaccum would be longer lead and longer hose.

I have had the Vax for just over a week, and so far am very pleased with it. The carpets are very clean, as evidenced by the amount of dust in the cannister. This latter is easy to remove and empty, which is a positive, given that it only holds a litre. Nevertheless I am very happy with that slight drawback as the cleaner is so light that even with my arthritis I am able to carry it upstairs with minimal effort. All in all an excellent product

we bought the vax mach air a week ago we have found it very light and easy to use very good cleaning just as good as the leading brand and costing a lot less with an excellant garuantee very pleased with it

Very happy nice and lightweight. having a dyson previously i found that very heavy. Cleaning good, only draw back hose not long enough to do top of stairs.

An execellent machine, ideal for my flat. I had a dyson before this one and the Vax is so much lighter to lift etc. The only critism is I find the machine tends to topple when using the tools, but as I only had it a short while,I will learn.

Very good product. However, could be improved by having variable power selection. Electric lead storage could be improved on machine.

The hoover is one of the lightest that we have used and is very suitable for our home. The only downside of the hoover is the tool storage due to the fact that the tool seem to diconnect themselves from the storage clip on the back of the hoover regularly. Otherwise the hoover is a vast improvement on even the vax for quality and value for money.

Great vacuum cleaner, very light & easy to use & easy to figure out how to clean & replace filters etc. The only down side is that the lead is just that bit too short for me to be able to reach as far as my old hoover. Other than that, it's great

Having previously owned 2 Dyson cleaners I was cautious about purchasing a different make. On recommendation from a friend I bought my Vax cleaner. It is the best thing I have ever bought, and subsequently sang it's praises to anyone and everyone who needs a new cleaner. It picks up pet hairs easily and switches from carpet floors to wooden floors efortlessly. It is light to carry upstairs, when previously I have had to have a cleaner on each floor.

Great, I love it. Its light and easy to use. I had a light vacuum cleaner before, so i did'nt want to go for any of the heavy ones.

love the vax as it is so light, the only negetive so far is the tube is to near the floor to pull off when you need to use the extention.

There are requirements I wanted from my new vacuum, it had to be light to carry, it had to clean hard floors, it had to be easy to use and value for money. My Mach Air gave me all this and more. My only criticism the hose does not stretch as far as I would prefer.

The power cable could be longer

Absolutely brilliant the best vacuum I have ever used wish I had bought one earlier rather than other makes as have had 4 in past 4 years.Well done for such a great product and with the 6 years warranty what else can you ask for.

I have never had anything except a dyson, but I thought I would have a change, and I am so pleased I did. The Vax is so lightweight, and so easy to clean. It has a great suction and I love being able to have the setting for hard floors. I find that I can doing all my cleaning with it. I have only one small fault with it,and that is the lack of extension to be able to clean the stairs with the unit at the bottom. I have have found it difficult to have the unit on each stairs whilst cleaning them. otherwise I am completely satisfied.

Excellent vacuum cleaner. Light but thorough. Easy to empty. Very pleased with my Vax Mach Air.

So far I am very pleased with my Vac, but please ask me again in 6 month time.

Nice & light to use with suction right to the outer edges. Easier to use but suction not as good as a Dyson

Light but not very manoeuverable in small spaces. Terrific suction and picks up all the dust and fluff. Very easy to operate and empty.

Super vacuum,well made, easy to use. nice and light. Just one thing,another couple of mtrs on the mains cable would make it a five star.

I am delighted with this machine. It is light and easy to use,but is very powerful with good suction. The design stores easily in a relatively small space. I would recommend it.
