What a complete bargain!

This must be the best value, and best working rechargeable vacuum cleaner you can buy, and you get a handheld with it too. I had a Hoover Freejet 18 volt which had stopped working after the battery became exhausted after around 18 months, so was looking for a rechargeable with Lithium battery as they last a lot longer, and don't die for many years. I had looked at the Vax Lifestyle but thought that forking out

I bought the multipack even though I already had a Life vacuum cleaner - it wasn't possible to buy the hand held separately, so seeeing my Life had proved itself invaluable, I didn't really mind having another to keep upstairs.

I'm not terribly impressed with the hand held model though - it works well enough, but the nozzle is very small for doing stairs with, and the other reason I got it - dusting around the computer, plug sockets etc - was a failure because first time I used it with the brush, the brush slipped back right away and the nozzle scratched the glossy surface of my printer! I've tried a few times but cannot get that brush to stay in place.

I do wish there was a cordless model as efficient as the Life upright, for areas like stairs.

As for the Life upright - it's brilliant! I use it almost exclusively now, only using the heavier Dyson cylinder we have occasionally to give a more thorough clean or to use the dusting & crevice tools.
Everything about the Life upright is good: light, agile, very efficient and easy to empty and clean the filter.
The only slight negative is the brushbar - wish it had a quick release catch to clean the brush easier, but it's a relatively small thing.

I'll still give the Life a 5 star rating despite the disappointment with the hand held.

The vax life vacuum is without doubt the best I have ever used.I have spent many years trying to find a vacuum which is light, easy to use etc.... and this device is better than all of the previous free stand vacuums I have purchased in the past......and some of these have been 2400 watts, which appears to be a marketing myth..... I was a little sceptical at first because I live in a 5 bedroom house and was concerned about the run time.However i have actually found that is not an issue because you don't need to keep going over the same areas and therefore I tend to do 2 floors on one charge. Do I have any criticism? It would be good to include 2 batteries, one for each device or perhaps a longer charge would always better, but this is only a minor grumble......

The Life Vac is almost as good as our Mac Air and 10 times better than our Black&Decker battery vac and is extremely light. Having a seperate charger is great, with all other chargers you have to plug in the Vac. Like the style and the way the battery locks and removes from the m/c. However the only things I would suggest is a more powerful battery that could double the current life of the battery from 10 minutes to say 20 minutes, Or two batteries within the package, there is nothing worse in only doing half a job. And the ability for the Vac to swivel some more good be an advantage. Even with the above we have recommended the Life bundle to our friends. Hope this helps, James

Fabulous. I had always found hoovering a chore, but not anymore. It is a joy to use.

I was delighted to receive this cleaner. Everything about it is fantastic and the only thing I am worried about is that battery - replacement would be extremely costly, so I hope it lasts for the six years of the guarantee. The freedom from cleaning with too-short leads is brilliant and time saving (no more back pains) and the lightness of the whole system is wonderful. So easy to carry up and downstairs.

Absolutely super little machine, light, so easy to use, slim enough to slide under the edges of furniture, and no cord to trip over. Great for a quick whizz round to deal with spills, or in between a bigger vacuuming session using my lovely light weight Mach Air. We also pop our Vax Life in the car and take it with us on holidays/weekends in our touring caravan, and fully charged, its Lithium-ion battery will we keep us free of dog hairs (Golden Retriever) even when we are on a super quiet rural site that has no electricity hookup, or on a caravan rally field. (We have a solar panel on our caravan roof to keep lights and TV going, so can manage without mains power) (We note that the blue power indicator drops quite quickly from 3 down to 1, but have still managed to make the battery last 8 days in the caravan with careful use)

Love this product- easy to charge, easy to use around the house- picks up dog and cat hair. The best recargeable cordless product I've ever tried. Glad I invseted in it!

A superb machine, far superior to any other cordless vacuum cleaner that we have owned.

I LOVE THIS! It is amazing, really easy to grab and use without having to unwind wires and search for a socket. The charge seems to last for ages and it works great on hard floors and also the shag pile carpet. . it gets stuff up better than my really expensive one which I hardly ever use now!
I will recommend this to anyone.

I purchased this because I have had a disc taken out of my back and needed a good machine that was light. This is the best machine I have ever had, it is as good as my dyson and so easy to use because of having no lead. The only thing against it is that it has no tools, if you could make one with tools that would be wonderful, or a hand held to compliment it.Well done Vax.

I am absolutely delighted with the Vax. It works well on carpets and smooth floors. What I appreciate most is its light weight and it is so easy to carry upstairs. An excellent machine!

Excellent vacuum cleaner. Exceeded my expectations in picking up pet hairs. Much more convenient than getting out the big upright beast from the cupboard. Thoroughly recommend this product. How about up to the edge cleaning for mark 2?

Neat, sleek looking cleaner that sits very nicely along the wall in my Utility Room.
Light and manoeuvrable, having two persian cats, it is always ready to hand to pick up the day's fur shedding from the carpets and floors and gets under furniture without back strain.

Good general purpose cleaner, very powerfull.

Bit expensive and the battery fades a bit quickly. Not very good at getting into corners and a little noisy but all in all the best rechargeable cleaner I've owned.

So far so good. It has the feel of a carpet sweeper but the power of a vacuum.
My only reservation is that with mine the battery seems to drain even when standing idle overnight.

I am now 70 and this machine is far and away the best that I have ever had. It give a freedom that I have never had before. It suction is very good and its manoeuvrability is excellent.

Brilliant moves around easily, lightweight, cleans right to the edges, suction excellent. I have two dogs and one of them is always casting this machine is ideal, don?t have to plug in and no tripping over cables. I live in a large house and it vacuumed it all without needing to re- charge. Excellent 10 out of 10 and a six year warranty.

I have been testing this item for Vax and I must say it is an excellent little Vacuum, it is lightweight, easy to use and it's cordless so there's nothing to get in the way while you?re trying to hoover! You can discard the collected dust etc extremely easily. What I have found with this product is in my house I have a multitude of different floors, carpet, wood, laminate and lino it tackled all of them brilliantly and was really easy to manoeuvre. I would definitely recommend this product!

This new cordless from Vax is very light and easy to use, now that it has no cord to get in the way when hoovering, also with its adjustable height control it makes hoovering a breeze, having given this hover a 4 star rating, I believe this cordless from Vax will be its number 1 for many years to come.

For a cordless hoover this must be the best on the market it has wind tunnel technology which works amazingly even better than my big hoover. It takes 2 minutes to put it together with 3 easy pieces and only one screw then all you need to do is charge up the battery and you can start using it. It can be used for carpets or hard floors by pushing the switch and works perfectly on both types. It is very light and picks up everything very quickly the only problem with it is because it's small it needs emptying more but that is a really easy task which takes seconds then it stores easily too which for someone like me in a small house is ideal. I really would recommend this hoover and to show how good it is it comes with a 6 year guarantee.

I was sceptical when I first used it "can't be as good as my upright" but it proved me wrong, it has much more going for it than its corded counterparts. I found it great on the stairs not worrying if the cord will let me reach the top as it's cordless you have no problems. As the life is smaller than my larger upright I find it easier to get under some furniture rather than having to move it as I had to in the past. The weight is also a great advantage the Life is so light that I have recommended it to the mother in law who has problems with grip and finds it hard to use her bigger and heavier vacuum, but she has used the Life and can't believe how easy it is for her to vacuum with this machine. I can't fault this little machine in any way it looks good, it has no cord to get tangled up in, and it picks up just as well as many of bigger machines I have used in the past...Top marks all round to Vax for this little gem.
