Rapide Deluxe V-026RD

With only 4 screws to assemble the Vax it was fairly straightforward but the diagrams in the instruction leaflet were too small and not clearly visible, otherwise it would have been assembled much more quickly.

I did take the time to view an operational video on the Vax website - which was really useful on how to use the machine and I do recommend everyone take a look - it really is very simple to use.

My only criticism would be the upholstery attachment where the jets of water come out of either side of the brush, rather than straight forward. I can't understand the design behind this as it is totally ineffective for spot stains. So unless I am doing something wrong, why soak everywhere else except the spot your brush is held over? Suggestions would be welcome!

Otherwise, for carpet cleaning, I thoroughly recommend this machine. It is lightweight, fills and empties easily, and folds flat to store under a bed, if necessary. It's really very good.

I'm very pleased with the results , my carpet became a new fresh and bright again . I would recommend it

Exelent I just used it on a old and very dirty carpet and the result was very satisfactory, another try and it should be as good as new.

I really think this machine should be sold in its assembled condition many people will struggle to put it together I would consider myself a very practical person and it did not find it that easy to put together it should be sold as shown because it will be very misleading for lots of people to find they have to assemble it,the machine it self is easy to use and works well for small areas but would advise the larger machines for big areas .

I have only used the machine once, but it worked really well, I am very pleased with my purchase. My husband found the cleaner a bit fiddly to put together, but now it is esembled its brilliant.

Generally the sales service was good.
The instruction booklet was not as helpful as it might have been,
for example the black hose has no explanation. It is long and cumbersome for use only on the vac. It fits into the hood of the dirty water tank ok, but it is not clear where the other end locates, or indeed what the purpose of the hose actually is.
The video of the product - on line, needs re-thinking. The sales info is ok, but operation should include the whole machine, not just the dirty water tank.

The product was a little confusing to put together and the attachment is fiddly to take off and put back on, seemed to clean ok and left carpets virtually dry.

Have just tried out the new shampooer in the hall and both toilets. Very pleased with result - lots of dirt came up so looking forward to doing the lounge now.

Previously had a small cylinder Vax machine but found it too heavy to push so this time I was looking for a lighter machine that did the same job or better. I found it in this, it was light enough for me to do the job in one and not feel exhausted. The carpets came up very well and not too wet either. Would recommend this inexpensive Vax Machine.

very thorough clean ideal if you have pets in the house. With the Vax range of cleaning liquids it give a deep down clean and if the area is especially dirty the internal brush's provide extra help.

i FIND IT EASY TO USE AND WORKS WELL. NOT SURE ABOUT THE HOSE AS WON'T SIT VERY WELL IN HOLDER

Hi, had the V-026RD Rapide Deluxe a month now, It's great at leaving the carpet clean & new however some spills need the old elbow greece first, then the machine works best leaving any carpet like new & nearly dry to the touch. The smaller upholstery cleaner attachment does send the water out at the wrong angle two far apart wetting areas that you not need wet & or clean just one other thing it is not quiet to use, very much to "LOUD", the design needs big improvements on the noise issue over all 6.5 out of 10. Not sure if the Dual "V" as the above issues, ie more bristles & noise are still an issue. Hope this helps, Thank-you.

Absolutely thrilled with the results, a good investment and value for money.I could not believe the dirt within the carpets and I have a no shoe policy as majority of my carpets are cream. Would recommend to a friend.

The main complaint is that the suction keeps stopping as the float moves upwards and the waste water has to be emptied even though the tank is far from full. I think this may be caused by the extra foam that is created when using the Ultra+ cleaning solution. It does get annoying after a while having to stop to empty the tank more often than should be necessary.

The release of liquid on to the carpet could be better and more evenly spread than the few streams that are released.

Apart from the above I am reasonably pleased with the results but I got the unit at a reduced price from Amazon and may not be as prepared to accept the niggles if I had paid the RRP, which seems to be quite a bit more at other outlets.

this is the second vax cleaner i have purchased. like the first this does a good job. i am very satisfied. 5 star.

We are very pleased with the machine. It cleans the carpets well.

This carpet cleaner was a big improvement on the earlier Vax model which we were rather disappointed in. However we do feel that the Vax products are reliable so decided to choose a dearer model with more features. So far, so good.

Works very well and better than expected

My first two V-026RD Rapide Deluxe cleaners had to be sent back as they overheated and smoked within 1 hours use. But I am pleased to say that the third version is proving very good. Compact but powerful and good on the stairs.

Handy and powereful enough to deal with spills and a house with two cats, two LARGE dogs and lots of outside feet coming in onto carpeted floors. Whether it is ofr a complet clean or for small areas and spills it is good to know it is sitting ready.

Easy to use and good value for money. Will recommend to friends.

This is my second vax. The first one had trouble picking up the water from the carpet so I had to hop about with one foot on the dirty water container to hold it down enough to pick up the water.. it made interesting viewing... However my new vax is wonderful, it brought the pile up beautifully and I could keep both feet on the floor when I used it! Brilliant, I love it!

Yery pleased with the results we achieved when using this machine. The brush in the front works very well in cleaning up dog hairs etc. So thanks am pleased we purchased this machine.

My wife has found the above cleaner very easy to use and has been very pleased with the results.We have two black labradors and three children all of which are hard wearing on our carpets.The vax has given all our carpets a new lease of life.
Our only criticism would be that the motor is noisy.

Excellent cleaner. Wasn't sure how good it would be as it is one of the cheaper models, but it made my beige carpets look like new - and I have 2 dogs. It is lightweight, so easy to push around and transport to other rooms. The attachment for cleaning upholstery did an excellent job on my stair carpet, I hadn't realised how dirty it was before. The only downside was when used for over 30 mins in one go the suction kept going off briefly. This was rectified by switching the machine off for a few minutes and then starting again - I presume it had to cool down. I will keep up with my carpets now, and clean them every month to keep them looking new. I would recommend this item to anyone thinking of buying.

I found the V-026RD very easy to use.It cleaned the carpets and cleaned 90% of the staines using the Vax Ultra+cleaning solution. Most of the staines was from my daughters 9 month old dog.
I am very pleased with the over all results.

Having researched online before purchasing, I decided to buy this VAX model as it provided all the features I required (i.e. upright model, easy assembly, accessories, etc). Once assembled (very easy & well built model) filling is simple switch on & start cleaning. Takes a little while to get the correct method of cleaning with this model but cleans very well, does not leave carpets too wet & is very efficient in use (as can be seen in the colour of the waste water!) Once completed, clean thoroughly after use, let it dry & store - simple! Did some cleaning with hand-held brush which, again is very simple & efficient in use & cleans very thoroughly. Having had a VAX in the past that played up alot & was not easy to use, they have certainly improved efficiency with their latest models. Would highly recommend this cleaner - just make sure that you clean before storing & purchase spares up front (i.e. filters) & I am sure you will have many years of great cleaning!

This is my Second Vax carpet shampooer, and if anything is an improvement on the poor dead older one. We have NINE grandchildren, so our Carpet DOES take a fair bit of hammering, but a couple of runs with the Vax and it starts to look like a carpet again. The only problem I find is in applying the shampoo, with having to press the orange button to allow it to flow, which can be hard on the finger. That apart, I have no complaints, and am happy with the job it does

I am very pleased with the results. After only one treatment the carpets are definately much cleaner and colour much brighter. I found the cleaner easy to operate and the instructions quite clear to follow. I assembled the cleaner myself without much difficulty and found the instructions quite clear. My only comment is the instruction manual is only small therefore diagrams diffult to see. I went on line and printed out a larger copy and that was much easier to see and follow.I am retirement age so if I can manage to follow the assembly instructions I am sure a younger person would have no difficulty. I wish I had bought one ealier when my children were young. A very good purchase.

Works very well. Lots of nice detail/thoughtful design aspects. BUT !!! can only use it with earplugs.

I love this machine. Certainly cheaper than buying new carpets! It is so easy to fill, not fiddly at all. It is also a manageable weight and, as someone with breathing difficulties, I appreciate this. An attractive machine ( if that's important) which performs very well. My only negative comment would be the price of the shampoo but, when you consider how little you need to use for any one application, I suppose even that isn't bad. If I had to give marks out of 10 it would be a 10.Exactly what I would expect from a company with such a good reputation.

The vax rapid delux is a simple light basic carpet cleaner that gets the carpets clean. You do need a good shampoo though.

Having cleaned all the carpets throughout the house since receiving the V-026RD I am absolutely delighted with the results.

When you've screwed all the pieces together, which wasn't easy self assembly, the cleaner was easy to use, and I would give 7/10 for its effectivness. Other than that, the hose really semed to get in the way when I was cleaning the carpet. Overall then I would give this product 6/10.

Found product easy to put together. Used on landing and stairs and front room. Easy to use though a little difficult on stairs. No problem emptying and putting back together would recomend

This product is good for freshening the carpet up. I can't say that it works on carpet stains but perhaps I was expecting too much. You have to remember to move the Vax very slowly to get maximum effect. On the whole it works quite well.

Easy to assemble and easy to use. Great cleaning results even on stubbon areas. Each individual container was easy to clean and dry after use. Prefer this upright cleaner to my earlier round cylinder Vax model. It's weight is good, i'm glad to have this size and not the next sizes up, think they could be heavy to use. Would recommend this Vax to friends.

I found this an excellent product and it does exactly what it says on the tin. I was expecting my carpets to be quite wet for a couple of days, but they were dry within about three hours. I could not believe the amount of dirt and pet hair that came out of the carpets. This is after I have hoovered with the Vax Pet vacuum cleaner as well. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends.

Product is easy to use and does what it is designed to do. The dirty water sensor is too sensitive.

I was very disappointed when my Vax Rapide, which I had had for only six years, and had bought new, was said to be redundant,and I could buy none of the very few spares needed to make it as good as new.
HOWEVER! the new Vax that I bought to replace it,is just as efficient and much lighter!It cleans well, even better than my beloved old Vax, so, in a way, I am quite glad that the old favourite went to "Vax Heaven!
I have great difficulty using anything heavy, since a right-side-mastectomy, but even i can wash the rugs with my new vax - so I'm delighted!

This machine is very good value and cleans well. Much better than my old one. Much appreciate the stair and upholstery tools.

Good machine but very time consuming to get rid of any marks off carpet. You need to keep running the machine over the same spot till it disappears. Did see the clean water tank turn dirty! It's not flimsy v.light. If Could afford would Definatly try the more expensive models if they were to save time.

I did not realise how dirty the carpets were. An awful lot of dirty water at the end of the clean.

Exellent product,does exactly what it says on the box.If you have a really soiled or large area to do,then its probably worh hiring an indusrial carpet cleaner first. To maintain a reasononably clean carpet and to remove normal spillage and pet odours it really is a very easy machine to use and does a really good job and leaves the carpet quite dry.I spent a lot of time reviewing carpet cleaners before purchasing this item and reading a lot of feedback.Would definitly recommend this cleaner and would'nt hesitate to buy another one.

Easy to assemble,great size clean water tank,like the fact you can see the dirty water coming up and when theres no more to lift-my stair carpet has come up brilliantly,was quite impressed how new the carpet now looks.Really happy with the overall results,having a dog and a puppy,and renovating the garden my carpets have taken a lot over the past few weeks,and was considering replacing the living room carpet but i dont need to now. Would like Vax to find a way to make it a bit quieter!Would recommend the Rapide Delux

the hardest bit with this machine was feeding the cable down to put the handle on once you have sorted that it is straight forward the more you use it the better you get very pleased with it& it dusnt leave the carpet that wet

The V-026RD is a brilliant carpet cleaner. It wet cleans as you would expect. I have so far cleaned all the carpets in my house, some marks have been removed but more permanent marks (rooving tar) have not come out, but then I didn't expect it to lift these marks. The only down side to the cleaner is the leaking from the nozzle and the holding capacity of dirty water (which is less than the clean), it needs cleaning out alot more than filling.
I have found it to be very good at cleaning upholstery, I have cleaned over the settee and dining chairs, and although the nozzle throws more water out than is needed it has brought out dirt and grime I didn't even know was there. I would recommend this product to others.

Very pleased, easy to understand instructions.Obtained a better result than I had done previously with another brand's cleaner. The previous brand's machine heated the water but the results were not as good

Now that I have had time to use the carpet washer I have to say that I am very pleased with the product. It has saved me time and money on hiring carpet washing machines. Carpets cleaned well and it is good to have it on hand for use at any time. I have not used the hose attachment yet for cleaning stair carpets so cannot comment on that but have no reason to doubt its effectiveness.

I like it very much. I have used it to clean three complete carpets. I liked the simple instructions; too many products have over-complicated instructions. It took me a while to realize I had to do a lot more sucking up than dispensing, so my results got better. Complaints? Not a lot! A bit noisy, perhaps. The mains cord could do with being a bit higher so you can hold it easily to keep it out of the way. I'd recommend it.

Good value for money cleaner. Main unit works well, although attachment could be slightly better as can leave carpets/upholstery bit wet. Cleaning solution is good but a bigger bottle with cleaner would be preferable. Easy to put together overall good value cleaner

Exelent product could not have purchased better. Cleaned carpets better than i expected and very easy to handle, also worth the money, 10 out of 10.

I found it very easy to assemble, which was handy as I live alone. Only about 10 minutes from package to completed item. It's very simple to operate, and only a bit noisier than an upright vacuum cleaner. I achieved very good results using the AAA fluid, and am overall exceptionally pleased with my Vax. The only downside is the bulkiness of the hose if retained on the holder when not in use, easily resolved by hanging it in a cupboard until I need it. I'll likely be loaning it to friends, to share the joy.

Delighted with the performance of my new Vax Carpet Washer. Does the job quickly and efficiently with no effort on my part. Cleaned all the carpets in my house within two days of taking delivery of the machine. All cleaned well, very satisfied.

I purchased my vax after trying many other cleaners ,and was very surprised at how clean it got my carpets and how easy it is to use.

I found putting the cleaner together a little off putting at first but soon got the hang of it. The cleaner its self excellent, easy to use with a very good result. This is the third carpet washer i have owned and so far the best!

An excellent product that removes the deepest dirt from carpets. Very easy to use, and very effective at cleaning even the most ground-in dirt. I never realised just how bad my carpets were, until I used the Vax Rapide Deluxe, now my carpets look as clean as when I first bought them, I'm very happy with my purchase.

If there is one downside to this product, it's the difficulty I had when assembling it, it's not the easiest thing to assemble, and I did struggle at times, primarily with the power supply cable. It was assembled eventually though, so it wasn't too bad really.

The Vax has been a life saver with a new puppy in the house. The carpets have taken quite hammering but my Vax has brought them back to being clean and bright again. Easy to use,nice and light , so glad I bought it.

I thought it was money well spent as it cleaned my carpets thoroughly from all the snow etc.. that visitors trampled into my home. I wish it would have been quieter to run, as my dog was upset by it's volume and kept trying to attack it and barking. I kept putting off buying one for various reasons but now wish i had brought one years earlier.

I was really impressed with this cleaner. It's light making it much easier to use than an industrial type cleaner. It's easy to clean during and after use. It is small enough to store away in the cupboard. It's convenient to get it out to clean up the smallest marks and spills on the carpet. The most important feature is the hand attachment, great for cleaning the stairs, I'm going to have a go at cleaning the curtains next.

It's a good cleaner, works well getting out the odd stain my 11 month old son has created.

Have not used it yet, wanted to buy it as a bargain from Amazon, I have assembled it, absolute doddle! Clear precise instructions. Will use it after the Christmas party season has finished!

A Vax carpet cleaner was recommended by a relative. It is superb! We have two new cats who hunt and the effect on our carpets has been quite devastating! The carpet cleaner made an incredible difference. It was simple to use, dried very quickly and the carpet looked like new. We are so glad we bought it.

Very pleased with product, cleaned by cream carpet fantastically. The only down side is the amount of times you have to empty the waste water tank, every few minutes it was full. Otherwise very pleased.

I am absolutely astounded at the performance and ease of use of this machine.It is light and easy to handle and did a better job on my dirty carpet than much larger commercial machines. The light coloured carpet was full of dirt, stains and black fluff from old socks and the like and it was all swiftly removed. Within a few hours, the carpet was completely dry. The assembly was a bit tedious but now I have done it once, it would be no problem doing it again. I did have difficulty getting the electric cable to sit down into the engine housing but a phone call to Vax soon got this sorted. All that was needed was to soften the cable a little with a hair dryer so that it could be pushed gently into place.Perhaps Vax could include this in their instructions.

The cleaner was very good , managed to get the carpet really clean.

The cleaner was easy to assemble and cleaned a white carpet to a very good standard. It was light and easy to use. I was surprised how quickly the water container needed a refil, in fact as it was the first use I only noticed that it was empty because the carpet wasn't wet underfoot, perhaps it would be better to have a clear container. The carpet took 4 hours to dry on an October day with no heating assistance. Overall very pleased with cleaner and it was certainly excellent value for money.

I am very pleased with the Rapide Deluxe carpet shampooer, its quite easy to use, although I did find it a bit heavy and awkward at times. Shampoos and sucks up the water very well. Definately one to recommend to your friends and family though.

I am absolutely delighted with my new Vax Rapide deluxe. It was easy to follow the instructions and all my carpets look splendid and much brighter after their treatment.
My only slight niggle is the size of the "dirty water" container, which had to be emptied more frequently than I would have expected. But, apart from that, I am thrilled with the performance of the equipment.

The cleaner takes a bit of getting us to. The sponge part kept popping up when i fisrt used it. Having got us to using it it has stopped doing this.
The only down side is he noise. I live in a smallish flat and have to us ear plugs when using it. Apart from that i am pleased with it. It cleans my carperts well leaving very little dampness afterwards.

fantastic carpet cleaner very easy to put together only 4 screws. used the carpet cleaner on my living room carpet the results were amazing looked like new ive even cleaned my sofa and that looks brillant too theres not a bad word i can say about the cleaner.its fantastic!!! definatley worth buying.
