mt vax carpet cleaner is brilliant, its so easy to use, and brings carpets up like new.
i find the cleaning solution a little expensive, but love the machine.

After reviewing carpet cleaners and reading which reports, I decided on the vax rapide ultra 2 and what a great choice, simple to fill and empty and providing great results, so much lighter than I expected was an additional bonus, very pleased indeed.

I totally satisfied with this product, it washing properly the carpet surfase, and it is drying fastly.

The best money I ever spent, I was amazed at the results.

Small critiscism is the size of the machine itself which is a little bulky, can be heavy and awkward to move around

I am very happy with my new Vax carpet cleaner. I have a new puppy who has unfortunately had a few accidents on my lounge carpet. The vax has been brilliant at getting rid of the stains. I would certainly recommend it.

The machine comes well packed and took me 10 minutes to have the machine ready to use. It is well made and feels quality.My only negative is that there is no indication markers on the water tank to show how much water you are putting in.
On using it first time you could see clearly where it had cleaned the Carpets and from the amount of dirt in the water. Considering months before I paid

Excellent product. I can't believe how much dirt it lifted from our "clean" carpet on the first use and the difference in the appearance of the carpet is amazing. We were thinking we'd have to change the carpet but it's come up like new.

I tried my new carpet cleaner for the first time last week, I was rather concerned as I didn't realise how big it was when I ordered it direct from Vax. I previously had a smaller version. But once I started to use it I found it was great as it had much better suction that my older old. It also doesn't need filling as often as the clean water tank is so much larger.Only down side to this is it makes it a lot heavier if needing to carry upstairs. I found the best way was to fill it once I'd got up it the stairs!


It cleaned my carpets very well, ( They look like new again)! It was easy to empty and clean once I had finished, And yes, I would highly recommend this model.

Bit fiddley to put together, ended up removing the hose as it got in the way, but as it is not used that often, it is not a major issue.
much easier to use compared to previous carpet cleaners, less phtsically demanding, and uses "normal" temperature water, so no steam to make you sweat even more!
Completely cleaned all the house in a weekend. As we have not cleaned the carpets for three years, and they are pale, the high traffic areas are not yet perfect. Used once. Easy to fill/empty etc. Carpet cleaned up well. Not left too wet. Flexible hose does not pack away easily. Small measure for cleaning fluid should be supplied.

Amazing machine! easy to asembly if follow the instructions slowly and carefully, it's easy to use and it leaves the carpets as new. The pre-treatment wand is also very useful for removing stubborn stains and deep cleaning. The carpets will dry in less than 2 hours, due to the incredible constant suction power inside this machine. My machine is not of the most expensive type. But again it does the job nicely. So far so happy with it! I hope it last me for a long time. Congratulations to the Vax team!

Used the machine to clean the whole house. It was easy to operate and did a very good job. Amazing amount of dirt removed and carpets noticeably brighter.

Only minor niggles are that the dirty water tank is difficult (impossible?) to clean completely and it is very ease to accidentally dislodge the hose from the tool caddy.

Overall, a very good product especially at the discounted price we got.

Great Product. Suggestions would be as follows:-
The filing opening on the clean water bottle should be larger
The hose storage method on the machine is very poor amd should be improved.

I have carers coming into my home twice a day to give personal care to my husband so my carpet takes a lot of foot fall. I was amazed how much filth the Vax removed I am more than happy with it and I shall be using it quite often. All my friends want to borrow it!

This is an excellent carpet cleaner. Got a very good deal at Argos. I normally have carpets cleaned profesionally. Only got to use this once and it's paid for itself. Easy to use. Haven't tried the extension hose yet. Next job is the stairs !!!!!!!

The instructions for assembling the cleaner are not the clearest ever but, by looking closely at the picture on the box, I soon had it put together.
Cleaning carpets is very simple and I am impressed by how dry they are afterwards.
I very nearly returned the product after its first use - it was so embarrassing to see how much dirt came out of my carpet! I have also cleaned upholstery using the hand-held attachment. This sprays cleaning solution over quite a wide area making it hard to hit only the intended target. However, the results are good.
Some of the parts of the cleaner seem to be quite flimsy and i wonder how well it will last. However, compared with the price of hiring a carpet cleaner, i'm sure it will be a sound investment.

It cleans very well and carpets are left almost dry. However, it is quite heavy to move so maybe not for people with limited mobility. I keep thinking of all the extra calories I'm burning!

The cleaning tool is fine for upholstery but very hard work for stairs. If your design team produced a tool specifically for stairs ie. a bit wider and maybe with rotating brushes, I would be very interested in purchasing it. I think this is a major omission and because of this I only give it 3/5.

great cleaner saved me a small fortune because i was going to recarpet but bought this and my carpets came up like new.

I'm so impressed with the Vax W90-RUP Rapide Ultra 2. The 'pathways' through the lounge & dining room have been looking rather dirty for many months. I had hired a carpet cleaner from a retail outlet this time last year but it was a total waste of time, effort & money as it made no difference to the carpets. Quite by chance a work colleague mentioned that they had cleaned their carpets using their Vax during a few days off in October so I ordered one from QVC; I thought if it doesn't work; I can send it back within a month. I am so delighted with the results. I only have good things to say about it and would highly recommend it.

great i love it.I used to hire the rug doctor but this vax is better.The carpets are so clean and dry really quickly.I have 3 children and two big dogs so you can imagine the state of my carpets but now they look great smell clean and i dont cry over spilt milk anymore,i just plug in my vax and the job is done.I love it.

This was a replacement for the static brush model which worked very well but on a badly soiled area in the walk off area didn't really disturb the pile sufficiently to deep clean.

This new machine worked wonders on this particular area with it's revolving brushes and it is a lot easier to use (I am over 80 and found the other model a little tiring to use over a large area).

The carpet has been given a new lease of life and it even feels springier to walk on.

This is my third VAX carpet cleaner and I agree with your comment that it is the best yet.

Works a treat. The cable tidying could do with improving. But, much easier to use than or previous Bex Bissell, and much lighter for carrying up and down stairs.

Very happy with the machine. Cleaning performance is excellent.

The product does what it says and has done a good job cleaning the carpets. The disappointment is the design around the cable, hose and pre treatment cleaning storage clips. Poorly designed and only just fit for purpose in fact the pre treatment bracket was tie rapped on from day one and the hose is now coiled with a webbing strap. The storage is all too fiddly and weak for me I am sure older or less able people will struggle. The unit did what it was asked to do and cleaned up all the kids mess and grime out of the carpets.

I am really impressed with the Rapide Ultra 2, it is very robust, amazingly easy to use and a doddle to keep clean. As for cleaning the carpets, it is great, carpets like new in no time and the carpets are virtually dry when you've finished, berilliant!

Very happy with our purchase of the Vax Rapide Ultra 2, it was easy to assemble, light and efficent to use, with handy tools and accessories to help with stairs and edges. It brought the carpets up very clean and would happily recommend this product to others.

Having read the reviews, I decided that this machine would be the best for us. It arrived quickly, well packed, and very easy to assemble. Our hall carpet is 10 years old and we had been considering changing it, but decided to trial the machine out on it, WOW what can you say first use and its brought the carpet up like new, of course it can't replace worn pile, but certainly revived the pile and turned the water to mud colour, my neighbour was so shocked at the change she's ordered one for herself. I am more than impressed on how easy the machine was to use, and how well it worked. For the price you really can't go wrong.

A brilliant machine,leaves your carpets nearly dry. Easy to operate, long flexible hose for those hard to get at places.

The carpet cleaner arrived very quickly but as yet has not been tried.

My son and his family, plus dog, are living with us at present whilst an extension is being built onto the side of their house. My wife and I therefore decided that it would be a waste of time and money cleaning all our carpets and upholstery until they move back.

They have been with us for over six weeks so far but a further two should see them back into their house and us back to normality. We should then be in a position to use and assess the Vax carpet cleaner.

After deciding to purchase a Vax Rapide Ultra 2, I did a bit of research into this product and the reviews were mixed. However, I purchased the item to find out for myself what it was like. The Vax Rapide is very easy to assemble, and to operate the cleaner is very easy. The Vax looks really heavy, but I was very suprised as it is ever so light to push around. I was very happy with the results after cleaning all my carpets they look like brand new, there were some stains on one of the carpets which had been there for some time, but the Vax Rapide removed them straight away.
So if your considering whether or not to purchase a Vax Rapide I say go ahead and purchase one you wont be sorry.

Very good it brought a dining room carpet up like new I found it easy to use and left the carpet only slightly damp. Top marks.

It is fantastic. My Son spilt a full glass of milk on the carpet, quick thinking I grabbed the Vax out and in seconds the milk was sat in the dirty compartment and I was no longer a moody Mummy :)
It doesn't leave carpets soaking wet like previous cleaners that I have used. You can walk on it straight away :)
It got rid of a big black stain on my daughters carpet I cant tell you what it was.
We only moved in here 6 months ago so the carpets were not dirty but I thought I would just freshen them up and also I wanted to test the vax. I got carried away and did all the rooms, it didn't take long and the machine is not bulky or heavy. The colour in the dirty compartment was absolutely disgusting it was black!!

I thought the cleaner was very easy to use, and a lot lighter to move around the room then I expected.

With just one clean it took out alot of dirt. But I will be doing it again because I'm sure the cleaner will find alot more dirt, that I cannot see.

Not a fan of Vax in the past but products have imoroved greatly over the last couple of years. Trying to sell my house so the carpet cleaner has been very busy over the last week, results are excellent. My lounge carpet has not been cleaned for 5 years (and it's pale beige) now looks as new. Very pleased with this product and would recomend it to my friends.

Very Pleased with my Vax. Easy to use and does an excellent job even on marks that have been there a while. Couldn't believe how dirty my carpets were.

I used it to clean the carpets and my wife was amazed how much dirt came out of what she thought were clean carpets. My daughter now wants her carpets done. The unit was easy to assemble and quite simple to use. The cleaning solution, supplied, left the house smelling fresh and clean and the carpets and rugs looking bright. The attachment for the furnature and stairs might need a bit of adjustment however as the water jete miss the cleaning brush.

This is a great machine for rugs, (we have no fitted carpets) and works really well for furniture too using the hand held hose. The vand gives good control for spot cleaning and is better for chairs/sofas than the built in sprayer on the hose. It gives better control of sprayed liquid. Only issue, if any at all, is that the machine tend to run a little sideways on the edge of a carpet, ie its a bit difficult to run straight right at the edge. Maybe wider wheels would be an improvement for future models. The upright version is good as its easier to store. We should have bought one years ago, amazing what is hidden in a rug..........

When I was Researching another carpet cleaner to purchase, this model kept popping up in reviews. As I have had vax's in the past and have not been impressed with them at all and have always gone for different makes since.

However I decided to look at this model as there was so many reviews and it did look nice and I wanted an upright cleaner. I decided to purchase this model as it was greatly discounted on Amazon.

It arrived quickly (down to Amazon not Vax) and my 16yr old son found it very easy to assembly. I could not wait to use it! This model has a pre-treatment hose and applicator, however the solution uses the same tank as the main wash solution, instructions say you have to empty and wash the tank before you make up the main solution, bit of a faff for me so I made up the pre-treatment in a large spray bottle - works great - and no wasting time having to faff around. I found having the pre-treatment in a bottle rather helpful as I could treat hard to remove dirt as I went along!

As for the cleaning of the carpet WOW! I have a very light coloured carpet in my bathroom I started there as it has got very dirty over the past 6 months, I must admit it was amazing results.

(better than the professional carpet cleaner I had in to clean it 6 months ago!)

I read in some reviews that it did not lift dirt and left carpet soaking wet!! I was a little weary of these reviews I must admit, but all I can say in answer to them is -

"They obviously were not using the machine correctly or had a faulty machine"

As I could not believe my eyes it was just like a commercial where either side of the machine was dirty and a clean strip where the machine had been, I was so impressed I called the kids into see.

It is not a hoover and will not wash the carpets if it is used like one, time must be taken it did take me an hour to do a small bathroom but the results were fantastic.

"So simple press the button when going forward to release the wash solution remembering to go slow enough for it to penetrate! and the roller to work it in, then release the button and slowly pull the machine backwards to remove the liquid and lift the dirt! the results are shocking as you watch the dirty water lift from the carpets!" If you are worried about the carpet still being wet just keep going over the wet part until you can no longer see liquid being sucked up!

The carpet was dry enough to replace everything in about 2 hours. I have only cleaned the 2 carpets so far and have another 2 larger carpets to do, I also have not used the hand tool yet! My views may change as this is just my initial view of the machine, but at this stage I would reccommend this model.

I know you get what you pay for and I am sure there are models with better functions but maybe another roller underneath there would leave the carpets plumped up more than this model leaves them.

The only gripes I have are:

- the fact there is no measuring cup for the solution!
- the faff about using the pre-treatment function!
- Also it spits out dirty foam from the back when still cleaning! this may be due to 1 of 4 things - the fact I may have put too much solution in to the ammount of water (measuring cup Vax!!!)or the tank was full or I used the vax solution I had left over from another vax machine or this is a intermitten fault with machine!
I will only know when I eliminate each theory.
minor gripes I think.

My years of boycoting Vax may have changed I will have to wait and see how this model holds up and if things start failing or falling off. I have registered it for the free 2 years guarantee so we'll see.

First uses were very successful.
The premix idea is very good, but the container is not 'free standing' so filling it with the warm water and then the cleaner concentrate is not easy with one hand! Wedging it upright is not easy as the feed valve sits at the bottom of the container.
A lot of fluff collects around the brush housing, despite vacuuming beforehand with a Dyson! This shows how powerful the brush and suck system is on the Vax.

A well made product which is easy to operate and cleaned a well used carpet to a high standard. The carpet was dry in a little under three hours. Only one minor negative would be that the instructions could be more detailed. We are pleased with our purchase.

i am in awe, with this machine,it doe/s exacly what it says on the box, and then some.i have always bought VAX vacumns cleaners,so i bought a carpet washer, what a great machine to use, simple easy and fast. all my family members want there carpets cleaned, by your machine,every home needs one of these, in there cupboard ready to use, one happy and very contented customer. thank you VAX

The cleaner is ok it need to spray the liquid all a long the brushes as you get lines where there is liquid and where there is not.I love to clean car carpets and all my stuff boats and the hand held and the pretretment wand is great.I think the brushes on the main cleaner are good but i think it needs to suck more and the brushes need to go a little deeper into the pile and have more power.Also the hard to get out stains are so hard work.Maybe a new kind of chemical is needed for stubon stains.But on the whole not bad.The main thing is the brushes.As they scub and get in the pile.Both are now great on the hand held and the main machine.Still time will tell i have another house to clean next week.I will see how the brushes hold up under hard use.Thanks for your machine im sure it will be ok and hope i have helped you to improve your cleaning machine.Kind regards Mark Dawson

Easy to use and effective. Quite large so you need the room to store it but very pleased overall.

I have purchased a vax rapid ultra recently and find it an excellent product. My carpets are regularly cleaned with my vax ultra as I have two long haired cats and a shih tzu dog. It is essential I get rid of any doggy smells and keep the carpets very clean. This product is outstanding and I am so glad i purchased it I now couldnt be without it. It compliments my vax mach air vacuum cleaner perfectly which is another excellent product especially if you have pets This is the best vacuum cleaner ever non of the other competitors come close and I have tried them all. Well done vax

We are a pet loving family and have dogs.Finding the right machine to suite our family needs was an important choice. Obviously we looked at many options cleaners and cleaning products that would not only clean area's that our pet dogs where allowed to use but also suite our pockets as well.We decided to purchase the W90-RU-P Rapide Ultra 2 not too exspensive, but not that cheap it woudn't clean carpet area's that unfortunately had experienced doggy accidents in the past.Invisible stains that we thought could ever be lifted along with the urine odour that had soaked deep into the carpet pile.
I used the Ultra 2 on my lounge carpet and immediately noticed a difference both in the way it had revived and cleaned the carpet but it had improved the smelly area's " not completly at first" but the next day I used the machine again concentrating just on the area's where the odour was the strongest using the Vax AAA Cleaning fluid that I purchased with the machine.The results were really positive and should have completly gone with a further clean later this month.As a pet owner I do find it hard to purchase a really good "STRONG" cleaning fluid without looking at industrial services could you please recommend any of Vax products that would really get deep into any urine patches without using this machine time and time again.

The Unit was delivered as promised in quality packaging with no components missing.
To date I have only used it on one carpet which was a bit of a test because it was the oldest carpet in the house, previously used regularly by the children and now used as a guest room. I decided to use the pre-treatment wand across the whole carpet before carrying out the normal carpet cleaning. My only negative comment would be that the instructions are a littled simplified by the use of diagrams rather than written instructions and i do understand that this is to suit multi languages. However the operation was very straight forward.
It was surprising how much dirt was in the water on suction strokes even though i knew it was a long time since the carpet had been cleaned. The noticable result is that the carpet pile has returned and feels much softer to walk on, something that I thought I would never see again. Overall a very powerful and effective machine and I will now attempt to tackle the hall and stairs!
I would recommend this machine to any would-be buyers.

I received delivery of the W90-RU-P as advertised and found it easy to unpack. A little straight forward assembly and fitting of attachments had it ready for use in less than 15 minutes. I do not find it heavy to use it wheels so does not have to be carried and after a little practice cleaned a carpet (granted a hall way) in minutes. I found it collected the water vey well when vacuuming and the carpet almost dry to touch. I am very pleased with the purchase and expect it to save me a lot of time and money throughout the house.

Myself and my wife were truly happy with the cleaning result of the machine along with the ease of assembly.

I have used this just the once,and the carpets,they were left by the previous tenants,and were in quite a state,came up almost as good as new.I was very pleased,the only downside was the extreme amount of foaming blocking the "dirty water tank". Overall a very good machine...

Instructions for assembly and use are poor and rely a great deal on the user to work out any problems. The flexible hoses are difficult to leave attached to the machine. Performance to date is good although the drips left between filling are annoying and it is necessary to have a pad or towel available to avoid a wet area.

Good so far. but there is an issue with the frunt end weight which i read on another reveiw it is solved with putting something between the handleand the base but i wonder if this may not damage it in time.

First time using a carpet cleaner - setting up very easy.

Initial cleaning results on a quality wool carpet using the Ultra fluid showed promising results, and as other reviewers have said, amazed at how dirty the water becomes.

Was going to purchase the bigger Dual V Cleaner but a chance remark from a VAX rep in John Lewis suggested that the Rapide Ultra 2 was better value (when on offer) and had same Dual V technology.

As a designer I offer the following improvments:
A Litre filling guage on the fresh water tank.
A tank that can stand upright on a draining board when filling the tank.
Better hose storage on the unit.
Larger capacity dirty water tank.
Better guidance on achieving better cleaning results, such as how fast / slow you should move forward.
How much area or room size should a full tank treat.
How about changable rotating brushes with longer / shorter bristles?


So far happy with the initial results, anxious to see how well some other beige carpets come up.

This is the best carpet cleaner i have come across, it is on the bulky side & can be difficult to manouvere but the end result is worth it. I would highly recommend this product.

I think this machine is fantastic.I was very sceplical, but was a convert within 5 mins.Stains that have been on the carpets for 10 years are no longer there,they all look and feel like new carpets.Excellent value for money,nothing compared to the price or fuss of getting new carpets.Shampoo very easy to get on the high street. I haven't even talked about how my mattress has been revived.
Mattress's suffer life with a family just like carpets,just get out the vax and it looks and smells like new.Still looking for other things to clean,any ideas.
Must finally say how easy it is to use,a little heavy when the tank is full,so I just fill it up by half.

Absolutely vaxtastic..does as you say and very easy to empty and clean after using.The hoses can be removed if you are not using them making the vax ultra as easy and light as your vacuum cleaner..very pleased .

Excellant and love the fresh smell of the cleaning fluids.Much easier to use than my old one and does not use as much water.Carpets clean and family noticed how much softer the lounge carpet was after cleaning,brought the pile right up. I do have disability issues but despite the vax being heavier I was able to use it very well.The hand attachment is amazing for me to use. Thankyou for a great product.

Only used once so far but excellent and the dirt it pick up, and we Hoover every couple of days as well cannot wait to do the rest of the house.

I am very pleased to have purchased the Rapide Ultra 2 Vax Carpet Cleaner. I have since used it and it is an Extremely Highly Efficient Machine. Easy to put together at the beginning with easy to follow instructions provided and Easy to use. It was so satisfying to see how clean my carpets were coming up as I used the Vax and even moreso when I tipped out the water. It's not that long ago that I had my carpet cleaned with a different machine yet, the dirt the Vax removed was utterly amazing. Also, the fresh smell you get throughout the home after using it is lovely and you just know that your carpets are clean and fresh! I would never be parted from it now and I would Highly Recommend this machine to anyone thinking of buying a Carpet Cleaner! Easy to use and the results are very satisfactory. Used it on pet area and with two passes the carpet/rag had cleared 90% of pet oder and dirt.

Easy to put together didnt have any problems. Very easy to use, fantastic results on very dirty carpet in lounge .As good as professional clean. Absolutely brilliant product, carpets came up like new and I couldn't believe the "silt" that was left in the dirty water container. Very easy to use but my only criticism is the attachment hose is awkwardly placed on the back of the machine. A few times I knocked the hose off whilst going through doorways so I took it off until I needed to use it. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

what a fantastic machine i didnt relise how dirty our carpet was. we have a blue pattern in the carpet and blue looks great again now so thank you very much vax, we are now saveing to get the vax light weight upright vacum

Best carpet cleaner i have owned by some margin.I think it is resonably priced compared to some of the other brands.Only negative cleaning fluid quite expensive,but overall product very good and would recommend.

I used it for the 1st time the other day and have no complaints so far. I think its very easy to use and much lighter that my older bissell pro-heat. My carpets looked like new and were dry in less that half a hour. Having 2 teenage boys and a golden retriever that loves to dig in the mud this is a god send :o)also it pulled up more hair than hovering alone. I used the small attachment for doin my stairs and they came up great too. I give it 10/10

I am extremely pleased at how my 15 year old cream carpet has come up, having only used hire machines before & with two children & a cat,i needed a machine to hand,rather than have to go out to hire one.

I also like the fact that i can manage it on my own <i have a heart condition> , it is staightforward ,easy to set up & above all easy to manouver. I don,t have to wait for my husband to be home to clear up any spills.

The only negative is the up holstery tool, i find the spray from it
also gives me a soaking as well as the carpet. I think its a little to fierce.Maybe to incorporate a little agitator brush also would be a good idear

The liquid is great & has a lovely fresh scent.

Very pleased with my purchase, have cleaned many of my carpets and very satisfied with the results. Quite simple to use, not heavy and carpets dried quite quickly, although I did chose a sunny, dry day. Only problem was attempting to clean out the cylinder, many tight corners where fluff got trapped, but on the whole, for me it was a good purchase and I was pleased with my choice (I did, however, do quite a bit of homework before making my purchase!)

We bought the W90-RU-P to replace our old V027 Rapide which had seen better days although it was an excellent machine. The W90-RU-P is a brilliant machine. It is very light and easy to use and cleans the carpets with the minimum of effort. We cannot recommend this machine enough.

I have been very pleased with the results so far. I'm particularly impressed by how dry the machine leaves the carpets. The only comment I would make of a less than positive observation would be that two areas of the dirty water tank are hard to clean and small corners catch dirt which I cannot get out

What a great carpet cleaner! I have owned the VAX 6131 in the past but this outperforms this in many ways! and is a lot simpler to use and store.

I have been pleasantly surprised just how well this product works. My lounge and hallway carpets which had not been cleaned before have taken on a new lease of life as years of grime have been lifted from them. Ok, the colour remains faded in the high-traffic areas but at least those patches now look clean and the pile rejuvenated.

Could it be better? Well, yes. Firstly the onboard hose and power cable storage could be better. It seems like too much has to be crammed into too small a space at present. Secondly, the cleaning solution reservoir tank is a nuisance to fill as it cannot be stood upright due to the shape of the bottom and the opening is quite narrow. And thirdly, having just painted all my skirting boards, I'm a bit disappointed to see scuff-marks in the finish from where the VAX has been used right up to the edge of them. A 'soft' material on those areas of the casework should sort that out (I've stuck 2 pieces of felt material on mine which has stopped any further damage).

All in all, I'd give it 8/10.

I checked all websites and reviews before purchasing and I must say it has been excellent so far only complaint if any is that the hose for the stairs could be longer saving you to carry machine upstairs to finish the top. People say it was noisy but I didn't find this no different to a hoover, easy to use and easy to clean. Good value for money.

Initial results are very positive.The machine was easy to assemble and use.The carpet came up very well[albeit not heavily soiled] and dried quickly.Every bit as good as our previous Bex Bissel machine that we owned previously.

Exellent carpet cleaner and easy to use. This is my second one and the first i had for many years so hope this one is as reliable.

This machine is brillent my carpets are cream and about 18 months old and with constant tread through the hallway it was very grubby. The Vax worked wonders and i was suprised how dirty the water was. The only down side with the machine is the keep having to change from the pre treatment wand to the edge cleaning tool and then to the main machine very fiddly but on the whole did more then i expected it to do.

I have just cleaned all my carpets with a Rapide Ultra 2, It has done a very good job. Did't take long to dry a came up like new, i am telling all my friends about it.

Easy to use and effective. The only criticism so far is poor (no) instructions on fitting the holder for the pre-treater spray to the handle of the cleaner. It took a call to the helpline and brute force.

Fabulous machine, brings carpets up like new, even on very heavy traffic areas like hallways. Well worth the money.

I was very impressed with the results i got from the machine.
I have washed my bedroom carpet,which is beige colour,couldn't see any dirt,but when i used the machine,the clean water was a dirty colour.
But i do have a dislike,you cannot clean the actual head where the water comes out when washing the carpet,which is really annoying.because you can see bits of muck which cannot be cleaned.thank you.

I have recently purchased my Rapide Ultra 2 and have been extremely happy with this appliance. My carpets have come up like new and am extremely grateful that I chose this VAX from other products. It is very easy to use and although it is very heavy, you do not get that feel while using the machine.

Firstly I must say the Vax Ultra rapid 2 is probably one of the best things Ive ever brought for my carpet. The amount of dirt it picks up what the naked eye doesnt usually see. It kind of makes you feel ashamed on how bad it is, but now it feels like a new carpet again thanks to the VAX. The only little thing that I do find it a little hard to clean the dirty water chamber. I know you can rinse this out but still find it awkward to get the build up of dust and dirt. Though Saying that it still can be done. I wish you could just lift the whole lid by unclipping it up and wiping inside. But other than that I pleased I purchased it and would refer it to anyone else who's thinking of getting one! This cleaner cleans well and leaves carpets almost dry. Its a bit heavy to push, if you were a 5 stone weakling you might have a problem.

I am 65 years old never had anything like this before in my life,used it within a few days of receiving it on our living room carpet which hasn't been cleaned in about six years.Found it a bit heavy and awkward at first but once I got the hang of things there was no problem.Didn't bother to use the wand thought I'd just see how it went with an ordinary clean.The results were amazing for a first time clean very pleased with it got it for a good price off QVC don't know why I've waited this long to get one Thankyou VAX. susan lawson

very good bit of a pain to wash out after use

I was most impressed when I first used the W90-RU-P Rapid Ultra 2. Everything was easy to remove and replace. The carpet, which was badly stained and dirty came up far better than I expected it to on a first wash. I am glad that I bought this model.

overall iam very pleased with the performance. i cleaned a four bedroom house over two weekends. all the carpets are very light in colour. they look like new again. the hand tool works well from all angles making the stairs and edges of rooms easy. i can only think of two small critisisms - if the hose was a bit longer so it reached the top of the stairs it would be helpful and i cant't find a way to get the hose to fit the caddy. having said that, it's not going to be in use often enough to worry about.
sadly the machine has a fault with the clean water trigger but following a couple of e-mails to customer services, the machine has been returned and iam now waiting to hear the outcome. having read several review sites this seems to be the only fault that a couple of other people have experianced and each reviewer has said the problem was resolved either by a new part or new machine so iam expecting a hapy outcome.

i have not used it a lot as yet --i cleaned two small carpets they came up nice and clean --so far im very pleased with it. l let my son borrow it his carpet came up clean except the stains on his carpet--he is going to try it again soon.

Wonderful, amazing, brilliant... and that doesn't come easy from me. I must say I did my homework on this purchase. Reviews were great and so I decided to part with my cash. I am well pleased that I did. My cream carpet is 7 years old in a bungalow with alot of traffic even a dog. Well the carpet had seen better days and so over to the Vax. My God what a result - the colour of the water told the story, it was the colour of mud (ashamed to admit). My carpet was dry within 2 hrs and I was even reminded that the carpet had a fleck in it which I had forgotten about because it was so dirty. My carpets look as good as new. Sorry to go on but I am so impressed. Would certainly recommend.

The rapide xl was a very good machine but this is far, the handle is stronger which was a problem with the xl, the sucsion is amazing, i was very suprised at the pre treatment fluid which i had not used before. I also have vax mach 6 as well, the only failing with the mach 6 is the brush is too soft. I SWEAR BUY VAX THE BEST MACHINES ON THE MARKET

I have just got a puppy, so i needed a cleaner that got the job done on my carpets.this vax is very good,easy to operate and most importantly it sucks up most of the water that you put down.having to clean up all the little accidents on my carpets is easy,the water was filthy that came out,(didnt the carpet was that dirty!!)Its had plenty of use in the short time i've had it.very glad i got it.

The Rapide Ultra 2, is a very good carpet cleaner, it is easy to use, with clear instructions. I have used carpet cleaners before and found them heavy and the pile of the carpet is flattened. The Rapide Ultra 2 does not flatten the carpet pile it lifts it as it cleans and once dry I vacuumed the carpet and it looked as good as new. Also it did not drench the carpet only gently wetted it, so drying did not take that long. I have to say I am very happpy with my Rapide Ultra 2.

Using the Vax carpet cleaner was innately satisfying.It is quite easy to use and the only main problem encountered was moving the furniture. Seeing the dirty water made me realize how much dirt is trapped in the carpet and that vacuuming alone is not adequate. It did take well over half a day to dry, so wasn't as rapid as I thought it would be. But having used it, the beige carpets look ultra clean and I plan to use it every month to give the place a clean and fresh look. Will highly recommend it to all.

Having read reports from others, we sprayed the shampoo going forwards and then pulled back, this works well. The carpets came up lovely. Some marks needed a few goes. The only problem is getting all the dirt out of the well. Have no problems pushing the vax, both ways. I cleaned the stairs and edges of the carpets with the extension, this was also easy to use. It also works well on rugs not just carpets.

I have had so many carpet cleaners but this one is fantastic it is so quick and not messy at all I like it because everything is all together. My Carpets came up great and even removed a stain on the hall carpet that had been there for 2 years it was a green grass stian and I have tried all most everything on it.
The only slight problem I had was when I attached the hand held part to do smaller parts it kept on springing off. I will try it again and see what happens but I am really pleased with it.

We used to have a Dyson Animal as we have two long haired pedigree cats, and also a baby so we wanted a good vacuum, but when picking up cat hairs with the Dyson you had to go over the area at least 3 or 4 times for the hairs to come up, so we decided on a VAX after buying the VAX carpet cleaner and the Rapide Ultra 2 is absolutely fantastic. The Suction is brilliant and you can physically feel it lifting the pile on your carpet. But more importantly it picks up cat hairs so easily. We have a large house, and we can vacuum right through in less than 20 minutes helped with the extra long cord and the carpets are spotless. Total value for money, and I will not stray from Vax in the future. Fantastic products

Could not believe the amount of dirt this lifted from my living room carpet.It also did a very good job of lifting the pile,which was quite badly flattened.Great value for money machine.

Really amazed at the results of this product. We bought it after having a lot of building work done, which involved a lot of dust. Carpets in Living Room, and Bedrooms came up like new. Also Machine was easy to handle.

Works really well -much better than the older models particularly the cylinder ones. The carpets are left really clean and nearly dry. The machine is heavy but let the machine do the work - do not use it like a vacuum cleaner sweeping back and forward lots of times.

Hope you're up for some constructive criticism! first off, it does a damn good job, altho Which magazine says most cleaners are not great on spot stains, it doesn't take much effort to get these out. The pre-treatment wand is a great idea and is really easy to use, and it's good at putting the right amount of cleaning product on the carpet and getting it back up. But it feels as though the people who designed it have never had to use it.

For example, the accessory hose is made out of inflexible plastic and so it tends to have a mind of it's own, incredibly irritating to have the damn thing flipping around like a snake that's got rigor mortis... and it doesn't really fit the channels it is supposed to fit into, you've got to force it in, and even when you clip the end accessory tool into it, it feels as though it's going to spring out any minute. Perhaps you could consider making the hose out of more flexible plastic? and give a clearer indication in the user guide about how you're supposed to channel it into the various grooves, or make the grooves fit it better?

The dirty water tank is really fiddly to clean properly. It is really difficult to get all the dirt/dog hairs out etc, there are some bits of the water tank that accummulate dirt - the y shaped bit at the front for instance, and dirt also tends to get stuck in the internal spring that balances the shut off mechanism.

The circular drain hole plug isn't very easy to undo, bearing in mind your hands might be wet (or an older person might have reduced mobility), and both that and the float chamber filter would be much more user friendly if you either gave them slightly bigger removal handles or put a grippier surface on them. Float chamber filter could have a ridge on the upper edge so you've got something to pull against when you remove it - wet hands again.

Last thing, the clean water tank is very difficult to balance in the sink - might want to consider some sort of small legs to enable you to keep it upright while you fill it.

I suppose I'm comparing it to how a Dyson cyclone vac looks and works - it's almost there but I think there's a little bit more effort that needs to go into the finishing touches. It does a great job, it looks the biz, but you'll get a much better feel-good factor from your customers if they feel it was designed by people who loved it!

Will still give it 5 stars... providing you listen to the feedback.

Love it! We have a guest house so have lots of carpets to keep clean. The first one I cleaned I couldn't beleive how easy the machine was to use and the finished result was brilliant, hardly wet and came up like new. I went on to another two rooms and the dining room. The machine is also easy to fill and empty although the chamber where the dirty water goes is a little difficult to get in to clean properly.

Excellent carpet cleaner also leaves the carpet nearly dry when washing carpets!

Whilst the machine is heavy for me as a small person, it is so flexible to use, which more than compensates for my lack of strength. The ability to easily assemble and disassemble components also allows me to move it freely.

Excellent machine. I could not believe how clean and dry it left the carpets. I have two Border Collies and you can imagine the state they get into, but having this machine means I do not have to tear my hair out when they get into the lounge covered in mud.

This is an excellent machine. Having used it a couple of times, I am impressed with it. I have two dogs and own a horse, which means my carpets are subject to mud, dirt etc every day. After using this, my home feels and smells so fresh and clean. Its easy to use and not at all cumberson.

I have used many carpet shampooers over the years and some are ok and some are not so I was apprehensive about this but thought to give it a try. Cream carpet (bad idea) dogs and cats as well as people walking over it all the time in the main sitting room. RESULT THIS IS AM A ZING no other way to describe it. Its easy to use. Have used my Vax several times since purchase and have been very impressed.
Used it to also clean my car interior and the results were very impressive.

After a little trial and error with the instructions, we have managed to clean several carpets now. We are happy with the results and would reccomend your product to others.

I have found the Rapide Ultra 2 very easy to use and very effective in cleaning my carpets. The water containers are easy to change. I do find the machine extremely heavy to lift especially when lifting up and down stairs but otherwise it is a very good machine and one which I would recommend.

What a pleasant experience!! I have just completed cleaning all the capets in my two bedroom house, including stairs and two rugs, and the whole job took less than two hours!!
Filling and emptying the reservoirs couldn't be easier, and while the machine is slightly heavy to move when not cleaning, the effort required is reduced dramatically when power is applied. Well done!!

The cleaner is absolutely wonderful and has exceeded my expectations in terms of ease of use and the cleaning result. I had purchased a carpet cleaner by another manufacturer in the past and when compared to the Vax noted how easy it is to access the detergent canister. The Vax is also fairly lightweight when considering it's size. The cleaner is very easy to use; you simply pull the trigger on the handle back and forth to either inject the detergent into the carpet or suck it back out with a sweeping motion. I was impressed with how deep the cleaner acted to remove the dirt embedded within the carpet, and also how relatively dry it left the carpet. The carpets dried thoroughly in fairly quick time and they came up as new. The handy pre treatment cleaning wand was a boon as it allowed me to pre treat a few particularly stained areas before using the main cleaning head. This ensured that the resulting clean was even overall. In summary this cleaner cannot be faulted. It is the best carpet cleaner I have owned and is an essential purchase for anyone with carpets. Highly recommended.

The Vax is easy to use and has proved excellent at removing dirt from our carpets. I would not recommend it for removing all ingrained stains, but for everyday use it is first rate.

This product really does get the dirt out of carpets. Even old carpets look brighter after a wash. I found using the pre treatment wand to much mucking about as you have to clean all the solution out of the tank before you can use the cleaning solution, prefer to use the pre treatment solution made up in a spray bottle especially if you have a few carpets to do. Apart from that it works a treat, so good in fact other family members have asked me to clean their carpets.

Well worth the money

Very pleased with this Rapide Ultra 2. The cleaning solution is also really good. The Special Edition cleaning solution with the orange smell is a failure though. Solution very good but no sense of orange anytime. Recommend this cleaner with no hesitation. Could do with better, clearer markings on the solution container though. I found the cleaner very easy to use and it lived up to all expectations.

Absolutely fantastic! It really is. Easy to use and does the job really well. Since I cleaned the carpets originally I use it once a month on the heavy traffic areas - it takes 10 minutes. Absolutely fantastic. Whoops - I said that once. Worth repeating though. My only criticism is some of the clips (that holds the hose and cable to the main body of the VAX) are INCREDIBLY flimsy. I'm sure you could find a better way to fasten the plastic to the frame.

A good machine which does the job extremely well and is easily used.
It is much more efficient at cleaning carpets and upholstery than earlier models.
I do wish the dirty water tank was easier to clean out as the complexity of the casting makes emptying and rinsing a time consuming process but which does not leave the tank that clean afterwards.

I am absolutely thrilled to bits with the cleaner.I have a beige carpet which I am quite fussy about as we have pets and we live in a bungalow. This means that all the dirt is carried through the house. I have cleaned the carpet three times, once was with a rug doctor which was okay but it is very heavy, it left the carpet quite damp and it didn't bring up all the dirt. I have used the Vax RAPID ULTRA 2 twice and the carpet has come up like new. The cleaner is so easy to use, it isn't as light as previous vax cleaners but it certainly does a better job, you can actually watch as the brush goes round and cleans the carpet. The carpet is not damp so that you can't walk on it for hours. It is pretty much dry. I have lent it to a friend and she is delighted with the result as well.
I have no qualms whatsoever in recommending this cleaner to anyone. Thank you VAX I can now have a clean carpet all the time.

bought machine at first thought bought bad buy used it on old bedroom carpet machine was so powerfull it brought underlay right through carpet but once it dried out look fine but will have too buy new carpet but as i said it has been down for long time i got my living room plastered when it was finished got machine onto it and my was i pleased with results knew i made right desicision completly happy with results

Very easy to use - love the ease of filling the fresh water and emptying the dirty water containers. Found it very efficient. Only problem i had was that the long hose attachment with which i wanted to clean the stair carpet didn't work - water didn't come through. I have now had a replacement hose delivered but not had the chance to use it yet. Otherwise, extremely pleased - it makes short work of cleaning carpets.

An excellent leap forward from our old VAX machine with soap supply lines being inside the hoses, similar with the stairs/furniture hose, this used to be a task to keep the system working properly on the old VAX. I do like the tool caddy, keeping everything tidy in one place ready for next time. Only thing is dont let the dirty water collector get too full before emptying.

We had previouly owned a smaller earlier version of this VAX but this model is much more powerful and useful. We have already cleaned some of our carpets and very satisfied with the result. The more powerful suction meant that the carpets were almost dry immediately. My daughters have also borrowed the machine and found it has done an excellent job on their carpets. The results have been better than a professional carpet cleaner and the rug doctor which we have hired in the past. The purchase will have paid for itself in 2 years and also provide a very good convenient upholstery cleaner as required.

Today I have also used the cleaning attachment on the upholstery on the car and was amazed at how much dirt the machine was able to extract and how much better the car smells.

The machine is very easy to use and storage of the attachments on the machine has meant that finding a conevnient place to stow away has been very easy.

the vax is very easy to use and the results were very good, you could certainly tell that the carpet had been cleaned although not all stains were removed.

I am very happy with the cleaner after always having a bissel the only bit is the struggle to roll the hose back into its bracket as this must be an art but besides that problem I am very happy.

Fantastic to use could not believe how my carpets came up vax was so easy to handle.

This Vax cleaner is easy to assemble although i'm not sure where the pipe/hose goes when not in use.At the moment it just sits looslely over the machine.It looks more complicated than it is and i'm sure it causes some trepidation amongst first time users like me.When i finally got it up and running it was easily manovered around the rooms.I love the extra accesserie that made it easy to clean my stair carpet and i found that extrememly easy to use.
The carpets came up lovely and the liquid cleaner that came with it was excellant and i'm glad i took advantage of the buy two get one free offer that was available at the time as now i have more than enough for cleaning the carpets over the next year.In fact there's proberbly a few years there.
If i had to find anything to moan about it is proberbly the fact i can't use it on my laminate floors but there is a cleaner available that does it.Reading the reviews on Reevo this one came up with a better overall quality and usuage review.Would i have bought it if there hadn't been

A winner, cherry tree in front garden which shed fruit this was walked into house carpet badly stained. Used stain remover then Rapide Ultra2, wow stains gone. I am extremally impressed. Would recommed it strongly.

Bloody marvelous machine.

Initially disappointed when I opened the box (which had obviously been resealed by Comet) to find that the clip holding on the tool carrier was broken. However this was replaced by a very efficient Vax Customer Service Department. With regard to the performance of the machine I found it easy to use but has a tendency to flood when using the wand or upholstery attachment. Overall I am extemely pleased with my purchase.

Overall I was very pleased with my new Vax machine. What I would say, though, is that it is not very easy to clean: dirt gets into an area in the front and so far I have not found a way to get it out. It could eventually build up to the extent that it interferes with the cleaning process.

Excellent bit of equipment. clean the whole house in just a few hours. carpets came up really clean and really surprised how much it got out and could see the difference.I did the car and was impressed how much dirt it got out. i did'nt find it as heavy as others made out to be. top product the only thing that did break on the machine was when i was putting back the vacum hose it was quite tight to get all the hose wound up, and I ended up breaking the hose holder. really glad i bought this product though.

I think it is fantastic really easy to use my only problem with it is i don't seem to be able to store the tools easily, other than that a first class product.

THis is the second VAX product I have owned. The first was a VAX 2000 that lasted fifteen years with out a problem. The new Vax rapide, so far has performed very well.

Absolutely brilliant!! Upholstery and carpets came up like new.. It is as easy as using a vacuum cleaner... and so efficient... well done!! I love it... and can now clean carpets whenever I like.. and deal with any little accidents immediately without a lot of fuss.

i found this item to be very easy to use and it is a fantastic product it got my carpets looking like new but after buying it i found it a lot cheaper elsewhere but thats just my luck

i LOVE my vax ! it does a great job with having a dog and cat my carpets always looked grubby but now they look fresh and clean and the upholstry attachment is great for small marks i would recomend this machine 100%.

Had owned a previous model for a number of years until sadly i had to retire it, bought this model and am delighted with the performance , it does exactly what it says on the box and more, would definately recommend this machine, just like vacuuming a carpet but with brilliant results.

Love this cleaner, its so easy to use and even on what i thought were clean carpets I was amazed at what came out!

I am very pleased with this Vax. It cleans the carpet very well. There are just a couple of 'design faults' which would stop me giving it 10/10. 1. No on/off switch actually on the machine when half way up the stairs you have to leave the machine to go down to turn it off at the mains. 2. Winding up the hand tool attachment hose is a bit tricky, the instructions are not clear. It is easiest to store the hose separately. 3. The hand tool attachment has a very short tube, it is fine for stairs but you have to bend right down to do the edges and corners of rooms.
Overall I found this a very good buy, easy to use and very effective. I have recommended it to several friends.,

A much better product than the last one we bought when we were in Scotland, that was rubbish & spent most of it's life being hated or being in repair! This one is super, works like a dream & is easy to operate, even for a couple of old pensioners!

The equipment works very well & is easy to use. The carpets are very bright and look like new again.We haven`t used the upholstery head yet.

Works like a dream, cleans well, a touch bit heavy for my wife but i coped ok.

This is an excellent machine, easy to use and very powerful. Others I have tried have not really shown the same difference on carpets, but this machine really does the job. Highly recommend.

When I used the w90-ru-p rapide ultra 2 the the carpets came up as good as new it was well worth the money spent it was a lot cheaper than buying all new carpets through the house. I am very well pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

Very pleased, and wonder why I hadn't got one a few years earlier. I suppose it was due to the fact that I had a 2 in 1 Vax for years: when it bought it, it was then the state of the art!

A very effective easy to use product. I was amazed to see the amount of grime and dirt extracted. The carpets dried very quickly due to the powerful suction. I would definitely recommend this carpet washer.

Very pleased with my purchase. Cleaned my lounge carpet which looks like new. Didn't take long to dry. Cleaned 3 piece suite. The nozzles are not lined up with the brush head on the upholstery attachment so had to move it sideways for some of the fiddly bits but otherwise did a great job.

The carpet cleaner is easy to use and with the tools it is extremely flexible. All the carpets that were cleaned did not need a second treatment on those areas subject to heavy traffic, I did not need to use the wand for spot treatment of stains. The only down side is the weight of the appliance when carrying the cleaner up or down stairs but it is a small price to pay for a robust and effective carpet cleaner.

I think the Vax rapide is brilliant it brought all my carpets up. Brilliant, it lifted the pile and it brigtened all the colours. I would recommend it to all my friends.

Does exactly what it says. Picks up the dirt brilliantly and the motor is really quiet. I have two dogs and it brings up the fur really well. The only probl;em is that when you empty the water the fur gets stuck in a place that seems you cant get at. Would highly recommend and the two year guarantee is a bonus. I bought mine from Amazon and saved

When operating with a full tank of water the machine is quite heavy.

I have so far cleaned 5 carpets all to a good standard. I am very pleased with the machine. The only draw back is that if you slowly release the shampoo trigger on the handle the fluid keeps comming! I found that if you released quickly this did not happen.

Bought my rapide ultra 2 after reading the good reviews on it. I used it straight away on my mother-in-laws hall and lounge carpet. Was amazed at the amount of dirt it removed and she was well pleased with the results. Went on to my own house and the same day cleaned my hall, stairs, landing and bedroom carpet. Very pleased with the results as the carpets came up like new. This carpet cleaner has saved me lots of money as I was in two minds whether to buy new carpets or try cleaning them! The carpet cleaner has already paid for itself in the work it has done and I was pleased how dry they were after cleaning. Well worth the money! and as my daughter has just bought a puppy - a must for pet owners!

Bissell 9400E PROheat Select 2X All Surface Upright Deep Cleaner Black Cherry Fizz.an upright cleaner with similar functions which I owned until recently;
Vax V020PU Carpet Canister Washer a cylinder cleaner by the same company as this one which I have owned for nearly a year, &
Bissell 1970E Quickwash '2' Small Area Upright Carpet & Hard Floor Deep Cleaner which I owned a similar model to a few years ago & this is the closest one to in in regards to price & function & design currently made.

Firstly I want to highlight for anyone new to domestic carpet cleaners some differences between upright & cylinder cleaners; so if your not new to them skip the next paragraph.

Upright cleaners in my experience are easier to store as the take up the floor space only of their 'footprint' and store all the tools on them, conversely a cylinder has the main hose, a tubing that supplies cleaning solution/water and a mains cable to balance/store without getting tangled up. However cylinder cleaners can be taken apart more easily (without undoing screws & invalidating a warranty) and can be cleaned more thoroughly. With a far few parts to connect and change a cylinder cleaner can be more prone to damage when changing heads etc (as well as if you trip on a bit that's not stored correctly - oops). The other thing is a weight issue. With an upright you are pushing around the cleaner & the clean & dirty water (builds those muscles up) but with a cylinder you pop the cleaner in the middler of your area and are just pushing the hose and an attachment around.

So on to this cleaner. Points to note are that the clean and dirty water tanks are separate - avoiding the chances of cross contamination (in the Bissell 9400E PROheat Select 2X All Surface Upright Deep Cleaner Black Cherry Fizz. the clean water is in a bag contained inside the dirty water tank). The main hose for the tools is not permanently attached and must be plugged in when you want to use the brush and like wise the pre-treatment want must also be plugged in when you want to use it.

Better than the Bissell 9400E PROheat Select 2X All Surface Upright Deep Cleaner Black Cherry Fizz.. When going to clean this the dirty water tank & the main front where the water is sucked from is one unit & all comes of easily. Then simply unscrew the cap to pour out the dirty water and fill though the hole to clean all the 'vents', there's also a removable, washable filter which is easy to remove & only goes back in one way. I found this to be brilliant & much easier to clean than other uprights although not quite (but nearly) as thoroughly as the Vax V020PU Carpet Canister Washer.

The smaller Bissell 1970E Quickwash '2' Small Area Upright Carpet & Hard Floor Deep Cleaner is a cost effective, light weight cleaner, it's small capacity makes it ideal for smaller areas or flats etc. In a larger area you have to keep emptying and refilling. Another plus point for the vax I'm reviewing is that I put 3l of water in it & had about half left after doing a large lounge carpet. Excellent water efficiency/economy.

Both Vax V020PU Carpet Canister Washer and Bissell 9400E PROheat Select 2X All Surface Upright Deep Cleaner Black Cherry Fizz. broke on first use. This one has not - bonus!

Compared to all of the other cleaners I found this to provide a better clean. I also found that my lounge carpet was dry within an hour of cleaning it which I was really very pleased with. For ease of use my partner prefers the Vax V020PU Carpet Canister Washer only due to the weight issue (see the paragraph about upright vs cylinder). I am happy with and prefer this vax upright.

VAX offer direct customer service from the moment your item arrives - any problems or questions should be directed to the them (contact details provided in the box & on a sticker on the item) not the retailer. We used them with regards to the other vax and found that they support items all items except those brought as A/B grade through any outlet.

So far this is the best carpet cleaner we've owned (& I do update my reviews if things go faulty/fall apart).

I have used the machine once for spot cleaning and carpet cleaning and I was very pleased with the results. I did however find the initial assembly instructions inadequate and doubt that I would have managed it without the help of my husband. It will get a real test at the weekend when my son moves house
