Very dissappointed that i cannot use it on hardbfloors without it leaving pools of water behind which in turn has to be cleaned with a dry cloth

Great product , works well and no hours of soggy carpets afterwards!

Have used the steamer a couple of times now. It cleans well and the trigger is easy to use, the tools are numerous and simple to fit. Despite not having a particularly large water tank, the steam lasts a surprising amount of time. The bristles of the small scrubbing brush do not seem very robust and have already flattened somewhat after two uses, it will be interesting to see how long they last. Overall, it has been a good purchase to date, but I would like to use it a few more times before passing final judgement - the rating could increase or decrease! Only providing one floor cloth seems a bit mean as it gets dirty quickly and it would be helpful to have a spare when the other is in the wash.

Very simple to use and does a fantastic job. We gave it a first task of dirty oven grilles which were in dreadful state. It cleaned them very well, so the Home Master passed with flying colours. Now we'll be using the unit in every room of the house. Who knew house cleaning could be so exciting!

I really like this product, I now have clean floors, with two dogs and wet weather nice to have.. used it also for cleaning bathroom/toiet and kitchen and its so easy.. light enough to carry too.

It would be nice to have some way of knowing how much water is left in the machine.. but all in all very pleased.

Very nicely designed, great to be able to have your tools sitting in a compartment. Would be good if the cable could be wound up somewhere, don't know if this is possible, same with the hose and main floor attachments (like having it clip in to the machine upright). The machine is sitting in its box to keep everyting together.

The machine didn't heat up as quickly as I thought it would. I previously had a non-branded cleaner and it seemed to boil up very quickly.

Finally, wanted to use the machine to clean grease off tiles, mould on grout etc, found this to be very hard, not sure if it's meant to be able to clean it or I'm using it wrong.

I'm hoping this machine won't be a fad and sit under my staircase.

Excellent product. Easy to assemble and I had it working in 15 minutes (most of that time was waiting the 12 minutes for the water to heat up). I have white tiles on my kitchen floor and conservatory which have ridges and dirt had built up over time. The round metal nozzle worked the dirt right out leaving a superbly clean floor. The area I cleaned is very large and I only had to refill four times. Please make sure you wait for the item to cool down before refilling as it works like a pressure cooker otherwise! I like that you don't have to use cleaning products, just plain, cold water to get such a professional finish. I even tried it outside on some mouldy walls and although a slow process, the mould came right off. The wheel spokes on my car are usually cleaned with a toothbrush, but the cleaner made short work of that and the adjustable handle means no real bending down and scrubbing. Long electric lead and easy to manouvre around the place as it has wheels. Price is very good for such a small, efficient cleaner.

Good for the general cleaning , dirt/grime around window frames/sillls ,shower cubical, tiles etc good amount of operating time , light easy to use , good seletion of tools that store away on the machine .Done the double oven today , top lighter use one great ,but was not man enough for the main oven door . Not so good points , no water indicator so you don't know what is left in the machine till it just runs out , the carpet extention tubes feel a bit flimsey in use can't see them lasting very long if used regually but then it's not a proffesional unit at 3 or 4 time the price .

In some ways it is as satisfying as driving a steam locomotive. I haven't fully put it through its paces yet, so this is only a partial assessment; I started with the kitchen (now we are older we do more boiling and steaming and less frying .... accordingly, the kitchen became colonised by black spot mould. Having read that fungi can't survive temperatures above 40C (recent New Scientist) I steamed the walls and cupboards ... let's hope it works, but it was fun. Some constructive criticisms: 1. The blue parts box needs a better place to stash the cloths as they tend to stop it shutting. 2. The instruction booklet is in such spidery print (like this!) I had to run it through my OCR software and reprint it in Arial to read it. 3. Window cleaning seems excellent. 4. The water tank is a b***** to drain...this is merely a technical problem, and ought to be solved. 5. You should recommend a descaler and descaling frequency for different water hardnesses .. all water authorities provide hardness data.
Ask later and I will provide more feedback when I know more.

great little machine but a little flimsy.especially the extension tool
that feels like it might snap if any pressure is applied during cleaning.
Also i feel it needs to have a water level indicator as you cannot be sure if there is enough water left to create steam.
There is no information given as to how to descale it as it must build up hard water scale after constant use.
The machine does what it says and is good value for the money it makes cleaning so much easier so i am pleased with my purchase.

I have cleaned my sofa and lounge curtains and the 20 year tiles in the main bathroom and I am very impressed with the results. I haven't used the floor cloth yet and I am going to tackle the showers tomorrow.
I have found the upholstery clothes rather flimsy. After 2 handwashes I am not sure how long they will last, not long I suspect. But all in all the vax has not disappointed me and I consider it to be a great aid to thorough cleaning using just water and no chemicals.

The steam cleaner is great as a sanitisier: it is an essential piece of equipment for puppy owners( I have a 5mth old Bassett Hound- Rocky. I would attach his photo if I could here! You would love him). It completely deodorised my pine dining-room floor (his preferred 'toilet area'!). Also, it loosened what I thought was ingrained dirt on that floor.
It is great after hoovering and I wish I had a polisher for use after I have steam-cleaned.
It is a good shape, on wheels , not too heavy, a good- looking piece of equipment, proud to be on show.

I have not yet used the attachemnts but am expectiung some great results for my pre-Christmas clean.

I do think it would have been better with a waterlevel indicator - or a clear panel somewhere so that one could judge how much water left. Also, the electric lead should be retractable- I wind it round handle but its not too secure that way.
I would not have paid more than I did for it _ it is at the top of its cost per value. I love it overall.

after using twice up to now results are quite good, but could do with extra cloths. it does not tell you when water has run out.

Margaret Harvey

(Posted on 26/11/2011)

There are a few things could be added eg. indicator light for water level, variable steam dial doesn't show when it is at low, med,or high.

Steve Kay

(Posted on 26/11/2011)

Very easy to use - heats up and produces steam quite quickly considering the capacity of water it can hold. Design-wise - a great idea having a variable steam knob, and lights telling you when it has heated to steam level, but the machine lacks an indication that the water has run out. I have never let it get this far, but if it did run out of water there is nothing in the User Manual to say what would happen. Does it turn itself off, or just burn out the element?
However, all-in-all, a superb machine, with all the attachments you could wish for (and possibly some you would never use!).

J Peebles

(Posted on 22/11/2011)

Had this 3 weeks and up to now i,am quite satisfied with the product one fault is that when doing the floor cleaning the handle and shaft is very flimsy, and you have to be careful when moving back and forth. hope i get no problems in the future.

Jane

(Posted on 22/11/2011)

Its light and compact and seems well made. Its easy to use and did a great job on the tiled floor of my kitchen, conservatory and hall. The steam reservoir lasts for the whole job which surprised me as I thought it would need refilling a couple of times.

However, I do think that I needed a soft brush head rather than the bare bristles to do the job properly and used the cloth which came with it even though that is meant for use on carpets not hard floors. The brush head alone does not do the job very well and does not 'wet' the whole area but just leaves stripes of 'wetness' as the brushes are far too stiff.

With the extra tools it was great at cleaning the hob and other greasy kitchen equipment. Cant wait to try on the oven and grill pan.

I was pleasantly surprised how little water was left on the floor and so how quickly it dried compared to when I clean it using a conventional sponge mop. The only thing to bear in mind is that water condenses in the pipe as it cools so if you leave it a while between steam jets you do get a little pool deposited which may be a bit tricky on soft furnishings.

I did note that the pipes bend rather alarmingly when any pressure is applied to rub at stubborn marks but will get used to that aspect.

I think the instruction book is a little brief. And does not give enough detail about how to use on soft furnishings, carpets, windows ets and suppose I will have to find out by trial and error. Also I had to call the helpline to find out how much water the reservoir holds. The jug supplied is marked to 750ml but apparently the reservoir holds 1.4l. There does not seem to be a level to check you are not overfiling. Perhaps either the capacity could be indicated or a clear fill level shown.

Overall though I think it will be great for what I want to do. Now I know how it works and its little foibles I can work with it to get the jobs done.

I was pleased that I had read some of the comments already on the website before we bought the vax otherwise I may have been very disappointed. I can agree with the comment that there is insufficient user information provided within the package especially as to how to use the range of tools. One major omission is a guage to monitor the water level in the tank during use. There was little guidance on using it to steam clean ovens and bathrooms, which were a key factor for us buying a steam cleaner. We also found the tip from another user helpful that better steam results are achieved if you leave it 20 minutes rather than 12 before starting to clean as this avoided excess wetting of the area - particularly soft furnishings. Having said that, with trial and error, I think it will prove to be most useful around the house.I sincerely hope so.

We bought the S6 as the price was the same as having our dirty cream suite cleaned professionally! (It was very dirty as we have a puppy!) We have attempted to clean it twice now (yes it was so dirty!) and already it looks great.
There are lots of different tools for different jobs and all stored neatly away. The surprise came when the suite was not too damp when we had finished. I cant wait to see what the bathroom tiles look like when we clean those.
We are very impressed and would recommend this model to anyone.
If there is a critisism, and this is not just Vax products, the instruction leaflets could be made a little clearer. They are just diagrams and no written instructions which might be a little more useful.
Good price, great product and good guarentee.

I am loving my new vax s6! I have cleaned my whole house from top to bottom! my windows are now sparkly clean! the only problem i feel i have is the long handle which slots together is very flimsy, it seems to wobble alot when doing the floors, i havent tried on my carpets yet but look forward to.

Easy to use and one tank of water lasted right through cleaning. I did have a faulty clip on the hose but they sent me a new one straight away. Only thing that could be better is the pipe from trigger to floor attachment, its a bit flimsy so bends,my top clip kept popping out from the gun when I was cleaning the floor because of the pipe movement and the steam would come out if you didnt let the trigger go soon enough which could be dangerous. The bit they sent works fine now but I still think the pipe could be stronger. Over all very happy.

(Posted on 20/10/2011)

This is very good product not too big and easy to move around. The steam lasts for about 40 mins depending on how much steam you use.The sections that fit together are a bit flimsy compared to a normal extensions. The only fault I can find with the S6 is that there should be a lock on for the steam. If you are using the small handle for a while it can make your hand ache. It does fetch lots of ground in dirt out of tiled floors

Have used Vax S6 Homemaster twice since purchase and found it easy to use. Having all bar one tool stored in or on main body very handy. light, user friendly machine that quicklt defrosted freezer(2 years since last done) and cleaned stains /freshened carpet. As we have 3 dogs i intend to use on soft furniture and carpets on regular basis. More detailed instruction book would help as would some type of marking on presseur control dial.well worth the money.

(Posted on 17/10/2011)

I`m very satisfied with this Home Steam Cleaner. It`s a pretty neat package, by which I mean it manages to look quite pleasant whilst also having a lot of the tools at the back of the main body to maximise it`s size. The body itself is light, and easily manoeuverable with a handle and wheels, and also has a lengthy flex and a few lengths of handle to allow you to extend the handle when necessary. The various attachments themselves are pretty good too. It`s only a kettle-boiling length of time to be ready to use too. The little cloths that cover the heads for carpet/upholstery cleaning are average at best though and I`m thankful that I won`t need them much.

My home is mainly hard-floors, and the floor tool has done a really good job of reinvigorating tiles and laminate (once I`d realised how to attach it properly)! It`s annoying that the cleaner won`t pick up the mess left afterwards, but then the steam cleaners job is to dislodge it, not to collect it! One of the little spiky tools has made a stellar job of cleaning the filthy oven door, and has returned the oven shelves to their original brilliant stainless steel finish, and all without spraying too much filth everywhere; this will save me from shelling out on a professional oven cleaner or extravagant cleaning products.

I`ve been decorating a lot and a few windows/patio doors had got dusty and a bit hard to see out of, but the tool for this was fantastic too and has left a really good, streak-free finish. As I`ve mentioned, I`m not convinced about the upholstery tool - not because it doesn`t work, just that it hasn`t done what I wanted - revive my cream sofas. The cloth did stay over the head, against my expectations, but looks like it won`t last too long after it`s been through the washing machine (there are two provided). But I can`t blame Vax for the fact I`ve let my sofas get a bit less than the creamy colour they were...the best way to have everything look clean is to avoid the mess in the first place, after all!

All in all though, I think this is a pretty good product. It`s a fair price for a good steam cleaner; it won`t change your life but it will remove grime and stains a lot easier than scrubbing does, especially regarding the dreaded dirty oven!

Stephen Field

(Posted on 17/10/2011)

Compact and light weight made it quite portable.
Heats up pretty quickly.
Useful amount of onboard tools.
Cable lead is a fair length though would be better if retractable.
Steaming is good though I felt sometimes a little underpowered for more demanding jobs (floor cleaning)

Kenny Baker

What a fantastic machine! My daughter and I were dreading tackling the very dirty range cooker and shower cabinet in her new house - needn't have worried! The vaxmaster is a good satisfying and solid design and easy to use. I previously had a Polti which delivered the steam under more pressure but is much more expensive and the difference is not worth the money. We use the vax on the tiled kitchen floor which I then know is bacteriologically clean but not always clean to the eye. Any suggestions? The tools are good.

R.wood

(Posted on 12/10/2011)

I have had very little time to fully test the vax, however I was a little disapointed on two of the projects I had in mind for it.The first was in the shower where I had hoped it would have removed black marks at extreme base of tiles. It did not using the small jet supplied and I shall have to buy white filler to cover these marks.Using the same jet on cooker glass it did not remove the greasy colour which had built up over the years. But i am hoping when I use the tools it will be successful with carpet cushions etc in the caravan.I do not regret buying the vax as at the present time I have not put it through the paces to form an oponion.

machine is brill, only fault is no water level indicator, ie how much left after some use of machine, and steam control pressure knob could have arrows or something as to which way to turn for higher/lower steam and auto rewind cord would be great, but overall the machine is well worth the price.

Rosemary Williams

(Posted on 18/09/2011)

I like the design, very neat and pleasant to look at. All the tools are stored with the machine so are handy to use at any time and easy to fit and remove (be careful though they will be hot at first). I bought this for my large kitchen floor, with two dogs and a cat muddy paws and splatters of dribble are a constant problem requiring mopping, now it is easy to clean the floor, quicker than ordinary mopping and much more hygenic. The only down side was that it did need frequent breaks in order to build up steam pressure again and wasn't very impressive on the carpet when I went on further - the cloth over the cleaning head doesn't stay in place very well and didn't help with moving over the carpet for cleaning, not sure how I would do the whole carpet or even several areas of spot cleaning.

I also planned to do the window cleaning with this machine, it seemed to do quite a good job, although it did leave a lot of water on areas of the window which then dried to leave marks. It was quite awkward to use on all of the windows and the patio doors, but this maybe just a need for more practise, as with the water residue.

Oven cleaning wasn't amazing, but cleaning around taps and sinks, hobs and worktops it did loosen a lot of dirt trapped beneath awkward places. Steaming around the loo and pipes in the bathroom it certainly shifted some trapped dirt and left things a lot more hygenically clean than just a wipe around with bleach. I have yet to try it on the shower and tiles, the need to keep waiting for the pressure meant that a lot of time was spent not doing the job I was planning.

Over all I am pleased with the machine and hopefully will get the full use from it.

(Posted on 09/09/2011)

Overall, I am really pleased with my purchase. I bought it with the intention of cleaning my sofa bed and it has done a really good job. I have 2 year old twins and the house can get dirty very quickly so this takes all the hassle and hard work out of cleaning. I was dubious as to whether it would be beneficial and worth the money but I'm ever so pleased I bought it. The only one thing I will say is that the smaller upholstery cloths that fit onto the attachment are very flimsy. They obviously need washing after use as they can get very dirty. I put it in the washing machine on a cool wash and the edges have stated to unravel so I think it's probably only going survive a second use. Replacements can be purchased on the Vax website but they are quite expensive for what they actually are so I guess I'm probably going to end up spending quite a bit of money replacing them at regular intervals. However, the performance of the cleaner is extremely good so I am still happy that I made the right decision in purchasing it

Jill Hopkins

(Posted on 07/09/2011)

Very pleased with the product. My windows have never been so clean and it's great for the kitchen floor. However, I feel there could be a few improvements to the attachments. Firstly, the concentration nozzle would be better if it had a smaller hole, giving a stronger jet of steam. The cloth for carpets, does not stay in place very well and only seems to clean where the bristles are. Retractable bristles would help here and give a smoother glide on carpets.
Doesn't do to have the handle too long, as it sways about, while doing floors.
An 'extra bonus' would be an ironing attachment. Overall though, a very handy piece of equipment.

After a disappointing start with missing o rings which was soon fixed by customer services sending a replacement the machine works well. Some of the following comments may be useful as both my wife and I have had a chance to use it on various tasks. Handle can become uncomfortable after a while of cleaning the kitchen floor; the ribs on the handle seem to be the main culprit. The whole assembly used for the carpet/hard floor cleaning seems to be rather flimsy - none of the assembly has failed yet but it does not inspire onfidence in its long term life expectancy. An indication on how much water is left in the unit once in operation would be helpful. A mop as well as brushes (or instead of brushes out of personal preference) would be better suited to hard floor cleaning - take a look at the competition which all have a mop head rather than brushes to clean hard floors.

The above asides, the unit has proven to do everything we have so far asked of it. It works well and we are happy with our purchase, only time and further use will tell whether the main unit or its accessories will stand up to normal domestic usage.

Because of my comments (although not major failings by any means) I have given the product 3 stars on the product rating.

The S6 was a replacement for a previous steamer that I really liked but had dropped it. I have tried the S6 and like the fact that you can change the level of steam depending on what type of job you are doing. What I don't like is the handle. It is very flimsy compared to my last steamer and I keep catching my fingers in between the joins which is quite painful. I suppose it is just a matter of getting used to using it. Other than the handle I do like the S6.

This machine is overall a very good buy and I'd recommend it to anyone thinking of getting a decent steam cleaner but doesnt want to pay the earth for it, like some other brands charge. I like that it boils (and is ready for use) qwickly plus its lightweight but still powerful enough to do the job its intended for. One tiny complaint would be that when you put on some of the (many) attachments, when they click into place they can be slightly off-straight with the handle which can make getting into tight corners a little more complicated than it need be, but otherwise I cannot fault this product, am very happy with Vax, and their vacuum cleaner I bought at the same time, even more so! Well done.

An excellent product. It`s versatile, sturdy compared to many similar products and cleans and freshens every part of the house with the range of tools provided. I chose a steam cleaner because I myself have asthma and one of my dogs suffers badly from dermatitis, which can be caused or aggravated by many cleaning products.

My one criticism would be that in common with some other brands, the extension poles feel a little flimsy. However all in all suberb value for money.

Effective, easy to use steam cleaner. I particularly like the window cleaning tool, it makes light work of window cleaning. My only gripe is that the attachment for the floor cleaning brush feels a bit lightweight, as if it might be easily broken. Overall 'though, it's a worthwhile purchase.

Great product, few problems though. It doesn't have a water level indicator, and also after 3 hours use the locating pins on the accessory nozzle just snapped off. Fortunately Argos replaced the whole unit free of charge. I was so pleased with it the cleaner that I was happy to accept a new one.

I think my steam cleaner is absolutely fantastic. The variable pressure is such a good idea. ive cleaned my cooker and it looks so shiny. The car seats have come up lovely, some cordial had been spilt on it and it steamed it off straight away.Full marks to Vax.

The cleaner is great the only thing I find annoying is the fact that there is no light to say which is max or min steam power and there could be a place to wind the flex around for storage. Apart from that its been great with all household cleaning.

Purchased this to replace a steam cleaner which only lasted a few years. I have found Vax to be a reliable brand and I think that this Vax S6 is better constructed and the steam is excellent but I do think that the bristle attachments are flimsy and cannot cope with the steam heat.

The product works better if you steam the floor without the cloth attached, then wipe the floor after. The green light does not stay on for very long, so it takes forever to clean the floor because you have to keep stoping. Positve things are that it leaves the floor sqeeky clean.

I think that this ia brilliant piece of kit, I love the way it's tools are stored on board and it really works. I had a steam cleaner before that was good but Vax have once again beaten that and a two year guarantee is an added bonus. I would have no hesitation in reccomending this to anybody who wanted to buy a steam cleaner.

Great product which helped clean our new house top to bottom. The lack of water level indicator is inconvenient if not dangerous though. The cleaner appeared to be low/empty but undoing the valve resulted in hot water and steam spurting everywhere.

A very good home appliance. i am able to get around the home very quickly and have it very clean without the smell of various detergents not to mention the rough feel on my poor hands.
i strongly recommend this product, my children think cleaning is great fun and they help too.

Bought this product as really wanted to get away from the dredded mop and bucket. Looked at steam mops and then saw this allrounder and so glad I got it. Small enough to store easily, extra accessories in the end compartment and a good long lead ( perfect if it retracted but never mind). On first using it, though it was poor as the green light indicated it was ready but water was pouring out of the wood floor appliance! Then I realised its all to do with the min - max dial! Once on maximum it was fine and gives great steam and drys in seconds, we have a large room and can whizz through it in no time. Just have to be a little patient for the green light to be ready but I think its great. The options of doing tiles, windows or the oven is great and brings things up super clean! On the negative side I think its quite noisy with the bursts of steam but my husband disagrees?! Overall quite enjoy cleaning now with my new gadget! Would recommend it.

So far we have used the machine for the first time last week and found it is very impressive. Will be using again today to clean the tiles in the kitchen and bathroom floors, the carpets and possibly the windows inside to see how they come up. so far very pleased how well is cleans.

I found the S6 Home Master,a well designed cleaner with the smaller attachments on board the cleaner in a smart compartment. When using the cleaner I found it best to let the steam come through properly before comencing cleaning. All in all a smart domestic appliance, maybe a tiny bit under powered steam wise 9/10

Carpets cleaned up well leaving them dry.Easy to use. I do feel that a water gauge is required, so that the user can see when to re-fill the tank. Also, when needing to re-fill, time has to be allowed for the machine to cool down, otherwise there is risk of scalding to the handler.

Great product with all the right attachments and a great long power lead. Only comment is that the connector for the longer attachments that fit to the side of the unit feels a little flimsy and I don't expect it to last long.

I have now used S6 Home Master and i love it, my windows have never looked so sparkling, every thing i have used it for has been great, only thing i am disapointed with is the metal brush, only used it once and the bristles went matted and flat. But over all wonderful.

(Posted on 15/07/2011)

I am really pleased with the way its so easy to use,the steam I would never have believed ,it cleaned so efficiently. However I found when putting the cloth on the floor attachment ,the dirt it picked up was arround the brush, I would have thought a flat surface for a carpet would have been better, even so it certainly made a difference to my carpets! When i cleaned my bathroom seals with the small round brush, I was dissapointed to find it looked like i melted the bristles, still usable and probably somthing i done but dissapointing,The upholstry/window cleaners great, but the same as the floor attachment, could have done with a change of cloths, to make cleaning them easier, and helping me to use the steamer more often.
I also think steam is a much healthier way to clean, rather than using chemicals.
Thank you for asking my oppinion,

The Vax S6 Home Master is lightweight and easy to manouvre, the heating up time is good and it has a long lead so you don't have to change plug sockets as you move around the room. I have used it to clean my bathroom and the small attachments have done a great job cleaning the grout between the tiles and they fit in a compartment on the steam cleaner. The pipes do not get hot like some other steam cleaners i have tried when you are using it for a long time. I have also used it to clean the upholstery and it has removed food and drink stains. My only faults are when using the carpet cloth it has come off as it does not fit secure enough under the clips on the attachment and it would be nice to have two cloths as two upholstery cloths are provided. It could also be more powerful for those tougher stains. I have yet to clean my oven but I am hoping it will do a good job with the oven attachments. My overrall opionion is good value for money and I would suggest that if you live in a hard water area as I do you fill the cleaner with distilled water to prevent limescale building up.

I am relatively pleased with my steamer, but I would like to see a different attachment for cleaning the floors. I feel that there should be a flatter attachment rather than fitting the cloth over the bristle carpet attachment as I believe the cleaning is more concentrated where the cloth covers the line of bristles and is not evenly distributed across the cloth, therefore not giving a uniform clean across the whole cloth head, which I find dissappointing.

Finally had time to try it out. First impression on opening and reading instructions that it was well thought out. Having now tried it my sister is well satisfied and looks forward to using it to clean carpets. Will be sending for spare consumables when required.

Found the m/c very easy to assemble and use. Could do with a water level indecator.
A helpful attachment would be a wall paper stripper.

I bought this item for the primarly use of cleaning my tiled and wooden floors and this it does absolutely brilliantly. I have been looking at my very expensive stone fireplace for some time now, cringing that it was looking grubby but not knowing what to use to clean it. Problem solved with the S6 Home Master, I used the upholstery attachment with the cloth and watched the dirt and grime lift of the stone with the steam and I can't say how pleased I am with it.

The machine holds enough water to do all the jobs I want to do with just one fill although it would have been nice if there had been a guage that told me how much water it had left. My wall tiles and shower screen came up a treat and it removed all the horrid limescale marks that ordinary cleaning just could not get rid of. My only real critisism is that the handle is made of very hard plastic and after an hour or so's use it left my palms feeling very sore indeed. Next time I am going to wear a pair of thick gloves and see if this helps. Overall for the money I think it is a great buy.

Very easy to use, a good range of attachments and surprisingly mobile.
Impressed, although I didn't fully appreciate the amount of water that it produces once the steam condenses.

(Posted on 28/05/2011)

Needs a visible water container so you know what water level is on. It's fine if you use it right to the end when it is dry but if you have used it for a 20 minute job you have old water left. At the moment I have to tip out any old water from the machine before I start and refill it to the top level which is a bit of a faff. It would be easier just to top up water level.

I am very pleased with the product, it is easy to use and the only drawbacks are the lack of a guage to advise when water is low and that the hose to the steam gun gets in a tangle to easily.Overall it does all that I require of it so no real complaints.

(Posted on 26/04/2011)

I love the machine, it has made light work of my BBQ grid and oven ones. My ceramic tiled floors are sparkling, and all the tiles everywhere in the house for that matter. All the pink slime in the bathroom is history, so I am very pleased with it. There are a few features that could do with improving. One is the water level inside the machine has no indicator, so you never know how much water is left. It would be nice to have a cord rewind on there too. However all in all in a house with lots of dogs I never want to be without it ...love it!!!

My new S6 Home Haster is the best purchase i have made in the last 2 years, Other than my vax hoover and vax shampoo machine, I have never been let down by my vax products, I suffer from lung disease and thanks to vax, my home is a safe and clean enviroment for me and my family to live in , I can steam my bed and all carpets and curtains and feel safe in the knowledge that my home is steralised and dust free, the s6 Home Master is so easy to use and the instructions are so simple to follow, and storage of the S6 Home Master is great as the parts are stored within the machine, There are parts to clean your entire home, all within instant reach. Storing the steam cleaner is no problem as it all fits into a neat 2ft square box and ca be stored anywhere small. Thank you vax for your ingenious products.

It is very good and perfect.

The Home Master steam cleaner has everything you need for hygienic cleaning all around your home. It can be used in almost every room and is great for larger jobs such as cleaning upholstery, pet beds and ovens. Its 16-piece accessory kit has tools for tackling a wide range of surfaces, including floors and windows.
