There are a couple of possible reasons for this: -
1) The Central HEPA filter may have come dislodged from the middle of the dust container. Check that the filter is correctly positioned.

2) Your filter may need to be cleaned or replaced. Remove the central HEPA filter and shake over a dustbin, if there are larger pieces of dirt/debris that will not come off the filter use the dusting brush to remove them. If you have had your machine 12 months or longer we recommend that you replace your filter.

3) There may be a blockage in the hose. Using a broom handle push it gently through the hose.

Vacuum cleaners generally cut out due to the thermal cut out being activated. The thermal cut out is activated as a result of the motor becoming extremely hot due to a reduced airflow. This is generally the result of the central HEPA filter being blocked or there being an obstruction in the hose. We suggest that you clean your HEPA filter by removing the central HEPA filter and shake over a dustbin, if there are larger pieces of dirt/debris that will not come off the filter use the dusting brush to remove them. If you have had your machine 12 months or longer we recommend that you replace your filter.

Once the thermal cut out is activated it may take between 1-2 hours for the machine to operate again. Turn off your machine, and unplug from the mains supply, and leave in a cool room.

The HEPA filter consists of a number of corrugated channels, which collect dust preventing it passing into the motor. Regular maintenance of the filter will prolong its life however after 12 months of continued use, we believe that the filter has been subject to a fair degree of wear and tear and in order to maintain optimum performance we suggest it is replaced.

We recommend that the filter be cleaned after every other use dependant on application. When cleaning the filter it is advisable to empty the dust canister. Refer to the user guide appropriate to your machine for instructions on how to clean your filter.
