VAX MAXClean Stainshot Pet-Design Carpet Cleaner

I’ve had a couple of Vax carpet washers over the years and this is so much better. The wash on forward stroke, dry on reverse stroke works great and one of the drawbacks of the previous machine - the automix function which often foamed up and sometimes leaked after switching the power off This unit has a stain shot function which allows you to concentrate on specific marks on the carpet, refill the reservoir with fresh water and all but dry the carpet afterwards It’s also much lighter than the old units and easier to manoeuvre and store With dogs there’s often little marks left on upholstered and carpeted surfaces and this makes easy work of them!

I bought this as part of a test program. Setup is easy to attach the handle/hose clip and faceplate. Filling the water tank had to be done with a jug due to the central location of the filling point on the tank. I found the cleaner once turned on to be much louder than a vacuum cleaner of hard floor cleaner, So pet owners like me need to take precautions. I have used it on white and coloured carpet that is almost 24 years old and it performed better than expected. On the white carpet it is mostly ingrained with pet stains, With a couple of passes of the main head and some work with the hose and tools it had significantly reduced the staining. The blue carpet has traffic from outdoors and again I repeated the process as before and the carpet was significantly cleaner. Cleaning the machine after use was easy to remove the faceplate and brush to rinse clean and replace. The stainshot mode is a great feature for dealing with ingrained stains to reduce and remove them. The smartwash/dry feature work perfectly and left the carpets almost dry to the touch after several minutes.

Upgraded from an old Vax carpet cleaner. This one performs better, is powerful and yet smaller. Great purchase

This model of carpet cleaning is next level. Easy to use and switch actions. I can go from carpet cleaning to upholstery cleaning with a flip of the lever. No stopping to attach the hose as it’s built in - just add the tool of choice. The stain function was incredible and removed dog muddy 🐾🐾 quickly off the furniture with a tap on the mode panel. Handy having the stain solution tank as a separate entity as you can see when it needs topping up.

Very good. Removed all stains from carpets. Good value for money.
